Saban had fallen slightly lower after being hit by the monarch and instead of continuing to fly around, he broke the sound barrier again with his speed and crashed into the ground, turning at the last moment to use the monarch to reduce the damage he would receive from the crash.
Jake had flown up to meet Saban but after Saban flew down he dived right back to the ground.
The monarch was now standing a few feet away from Saban, his scythe in his hand, completely unhurt. He charged forward towards Saban and used his scythe to attack but Saban held onto the scythe from the handle just below the blade and used his claws to attack the monarch's eyes with as much force as he could.
A banging sound was heard, like two solids hitting one another and the monarch would have been sent skidding back if not for his intense grip on his scythe. His face was completely fine and he had kicked the two knees of Saban at the exact same time.
Saban had stumbled back but he had not let go of the scythe and from behind, Jake who was the five-tailed wert Fury, released as much fireballs as he could repeatedly, aiming them all at Saban's back.
The fireballs were burning Saban but they clearly were not doing much against him since he had very little reaction to it. 'I guess the magic of a five-tailed wert is not strong enough to hurt it or that's just how tough its scales are.' Jake thought.
He stopped releasing the fireballs and instead attacked Saban from his back by delivering a punch. The punch had connected and Saban had acted by using all six of his tails to hit Jake away.
"Wait why are we all just standing here?" Kevin asked.
"What do you plan to do against that?" Nikki asked. "Talk it to death?"
"We'll just get in their way." Kyle said. "Or worse, die."
Smith had been taking health from Saban using his magic and giving it to Jake all this time. Maybe he could not physically fight Saban but he could assist those who could.
The soldiers that had come along with the monarch had been ordered to stand down by the monarch. They would lay down their lives trying to fight Saban but "That would not be necessary", the monarch had told them. He was going to kill the six-tailed wert without losing another soldier.
The monarch and the six-tailed wert were exchanging attacks at a speed which was beyond most of them that were watching. Saban was obviously faster and had hit the more monarch more times than he had been hit but the monarch was totally fine, unscathed, while he was slowly starting to deal damage to Saban. And with Saban's health dropping ever so slowly thanks to Smith, they were actually getting the advantage over Saban.
Diane had been waiting for her mana to replenish and for her to get her strength back. She had been watching Jake constantly try to fight Saban and even though he was not having the best luck, he was still attacking. Her mana was almost fully recovered and it was only a matter of time before she was able to join the fight too.
Jake had reverted back to his normal form and was using the mask again. Now that the monarch and the wert were both focused on each other, he thought this was a good time to make his move. He took a deep breath and shifted his hair to the side before vanishing and appearing right behind the monarch.
He put his hand out and touched the monarch's shoulder that wasn't covered by armour and almost instinctively, the monarch sent Jake flying back with a kick to his chest.
Jake hit the bottom of a cliff and saw rocks at the top of the cliff dislodge and begin tumbling down. He immediately jumped away from the cliff and looked at the fight between Tom and Saban.
The monarch was still completely unharmed after all the fighting he'd been doing but Saban was gradually getting cuts all over. He had been fighting on the ground for a while which was why the monarch had taken advantage of that but he was still trying to cut Saban's wings off to permanently stop him from flying.
Diane had recovered all her mana now and was ready to do what she had done a while ago again. The colours in her eyes swirled faster as she stretched her arms out and the colour in the environment began evaporating and turning into particles. If she could reduce Saban's strength a little and at least give the others an edge in the fight, she'll know she helped. That's all she ever wanted to do. Help.
The colour particles began heading towards her arms, making its way into her eyes. The environment slowly faded into black and white, void of any actual colour. She rose into the air just like she had done before, her eyes facing the sky, receiving the colour particles as they entered her body, fortifying it once more.
Saban had been engulfed in his fight with the monarch but when he noticed the colour in the environment turn into particles, he growled with anger. He pulled the monarch's hand in from the wrist and hit him squarely in the chest with his whole strength.
The monarch skidded back and was about to charge forward again when a sonic boom was heard and Saban had broken the sound barrier. He broke it continuously, moving all around the place, none of them being able to follow him as he moved except the monarch who was looking for a way to grab onto him like he did before.
Saban finally stopped flying without any direction, which it seemed like he was doing, and landed on the ground again.
A thud was heard and everyone looked at where the sound had come from. Diane's body had just fallen to the ground, still as colourful as ever, but was separated in two and had been cut from the waist.
