Chapter 184 - Going To The Frontlines (1)

"What do you mean we're both not strong enough to stop Lumian?" Jake asked. "He can't possibly be so strong that he'll beat both Sky and I together."

"Of course he isn't." Andrea said. "But that is not the point. Even if you do succeed in getting to him and getting past all the guards and the Aramante, you will not be at your strongest so he'll easily defeat the two of you and capture you just like he did to Kalvrie."

"Who's Kalvrie?" Sky asked.

"She's your sister that Lumian stopped from coming back with me." Andrea answered.

"They won't be alone." Anna said. "I'll be with them."

"You don't have to do that." Sky said to Anna. "This sounds more like a family problem. A dysfunctional one."

"Oh come on." Anna said and chuckled. "You really think I'll miss the opportunity to do some interplanetary travel and beat up some aliens. No offense to you guys though."

"None taken." Jake replied. "Apparently we will need all the help we can get. But we still need to get stronger before we leave. We can't just basically hand ourselves over to them because we're not strong enough to stop them."

"I will also be coming with you all." Rheya said. "I believe I can also help." Bending over to whisper into Jake's ear, she said, "And I'm not really supposed to let you out of my sight."

"We'll see about that." Jake whispered back.

"You do need to change out of whatever that is." Sky said, referring to Rheya's outfit and looking her up and down. "Both of you even." he turned to Jake and said.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Jake replied.

"Jake." Andrea called out. "You turn eighteen in four days. Four days. After that they will definitely come after you more than they did before. How much stronger can you both get in four days?"

Jake looked at Andrea and smiled satisfactorily. It was times like these that he was grateful he had the system. "I have an idea. Let's not forget that there is still a war going on somewhere out there. And Anna is still needed in the war."

"So what's your idea?" Sky asked.

"We're finally going to really join the war." Jake said.

"What do you mean?" Sky asked.

"I mean, we're going to the frontlines." Jake said. "And Anna is going to lead the way."

They all looked at Jake for a while, thinking and trying to figure out if that was really the best way for them to get stronger.

"How will killing werts make you get stronger?" Andrea asked. "Shouldn't you be focusing on your magic and trying to make it stronger?"

"If what you said earlier is true," Sky began saying, "then that might not even work for me anymore. And my magic will get stronger on its own through, so will my energy."

"But you both still need to know how to control your energy." Andrea said. "Has any of you accessed the second gear yet?"

"What's that?" Jake asked.

"Your energy turns from purple to white. When your energy is white, that is the second gear." Andrea answered.

"Then yeah I've already accessed it." Jake said.

"Me too." Sky added.

"But do you know how to control it?" Andrea asked. "There's so much for you to learn and so little time to teach it to you."

"Whose fault is that?" Sky asked rhetorically. "If you had told us everything from the beginning, this wouldn't be happening right now."

"Sky's right." Jake said. "But there's nothing we can do about it now. Going to the frontlines to fight in the war is our fastest way to get stronger and that way we also get more experience in battle. What better way to learn how to use our energy than in actual fights? And who knows, maybe we can get some armour for Sky or something."

"Not really sure I need that." Sky said. "I think I'm good without it. Unless you're willing to give me yours."

"Ha! You wish." Jake said and chuckled. "Maybe on our way we can tell Kyle and the others and see if they want to join us."

"Kyle will definitely join us." Sky said. "He's all about getting stronger and stuff like that."

"We should use what's left of the day to rest." Anna suggested. "We leave tomorrow morning."

Sky had fixed the damage he did to the chair and the ground by reversing the time for it just like he did to the wall. They all left the living room.

"Jake." Anna called out and motioned with her head for him to join her outside.

"What's up?" Jake asked when he went to meet her.

Andrea had gone straight into his study and Sky had gone back to his bedroom. Rheya didn't have anywhere to go so Jake had taken her to one of the guest bedrooms in the house.

"What happened to you while you were away?" Anna asked. "You've changed again. In a good way this time."

"I don't know." Jake replied. "Guess I got more mature or something. You don't like this Jake?"

"You tell me." Anna said and moved closer to him. Should I like this Jake?"

Jake casually glanced down at Anna's chest then returned his gaze to her face and smiled at her. "It's not going to work on me anymore."

"What are you talking about?" Anna asked.

"Your whole sensual vibe that you always use to toy with my head." Jake answered. "It's not gonna work."

"Is that so?" Anna asked and moved closer to Jake again who took a step back and hit the wall of the house. He hadn't realized how close he was to the house until now.

"You know there are people in there who can probably see you." Jake stated.

"So what?" Anna said. "We're just having a bit of fun."

"Is that what you call this?" Jake asked. "Do you wanna take this up to my room while you're at it?"

"Only if you don't mind." Anna replied and brought her lips closer to Jake's. Her eyes now directly in front of his and her large bust pressed up against the white breastplate Jake was still wearing. "See you later Jake." she said in a low tone and kissed him on the cheek before turning around to leave.

Jake was momentarily fluttered and his cheeks had just a tiny tint of red. He watched Anna walk through the gate then he straightened himself and coughed a little before heading back into the house.

"Have fun?"

Jake was startled and immediately jerked his neck to see who had said that from the stairs. He saw Sky sitting on the stairs looking at him with a knowing smile on his face.

"What are you doing there?" Jake asked.

"Nothing." Sky said and stood up, ready to go upstairs. "In a bit bro."

Jake shook his head and headed up to his room after Sky. He still needed to go check on Rheya later on but he just wanted to lie down right now. He thought he'd had a long week but apparently it's been a month.
