The purple energy had exploded with Jake as the epicenter and just then, Kyle, Kevin and Smith realized that this was not the first time they had seen Jake do something like that.
On the first and only expedition they went on as third year students, things had gone terribly wrong when the werts attacked and Cat – Jake's girlfriend – was killed.
Jake had watched her die and after that he had done something similar to what he just did now except back then the purple energy was just an outline around his body but now it seemed that he was able to release it further from his body and project it outwards.
He had gone missing for a full month and when he was found, he had come back different from before.
The explosion of Jake's energy had made Nine crash through the box and fall hard on the ground. He was the closest to Jake and therefore is the one who got the full blast of the explosion.
Jake immediately ran towards Nine and picked him up from the ground with his neck.

"Thank you." Jake said to Nine then quickly squeezed his neck and crushed it before Nine could use his magic again.

[Elongating Magic]
[Blood Magic]
'So the system screen for the enchanted armour shows me my mimicked magical abilities?' Jake thought.

[Mimicked magic 1: Blood Magic]
[Strength of Mimicked magic: 190]
[Mimicked magic 2: Vanishing Magic]
[Strength of Mimicked magic: 250]
[Total Magic Strength: 440]
Jake had replaced the elongating magic he mimicked with the blood magic. He no longer had the elongating magic as part of his mimicked magical abilities. 'So why is it in the enchanted armour screen?'
Seeing the body of Nine lying on the ground with a broken neck. Still, immobile, dead. The convicts became worried and began wondering if they should run away or try to fight; to the death if necessary.
Jake turned around and looked at all the convicts. He stretched his hands forward towards the convicts and lifted his hands high into the air then just as Nine did before, Jake began moving his fingers. Somewhat twirling them around each other.
He used the blood magic and since it's strength was automatically combined with the strength of the vanishing magic, Jake was able to control the twenty or so convicts that were left standing.
He could have quite easily killed them all by breaking their necks just like Nine tried to do to him but instead he flooded their heads with blood which affected their brain and made all their eyes go blood red.
He did that just enough for them to pass out and when he was certain they were all unconscious, he let go of them and dropped their bodies to the ground.
"That was insane!" one of the convicts said. His eyes were cyan in colour, just like Kevin's real body which is how Jake knew he was Kevin so did not use the blood magic on him.
"How did you mimic his magic so quickly?" Kyle asked then a look of realization appeared on his face but he chose to be quiet. There were certain things that should be left unsaid.
Jake had received a system quest when Rheya trapped him in the box with Nine and now that he had taken care of all the convicts, he received a system notification confirming the completion of the quest.
"I'm gonna go get Kevin's body." Jake said then vanished immediately before anyone could say anything. He knew they had questions to ask but he wasn't entirely sure he had answers to give them and he wanted to check all his system notifications, including the ones he had received before coming back to Veda.
As he vanished and appeared continuously, Jake got to where he had dropped Kevin's body and stopped vanishing. He opened his system and first of all checked the most recent notification he had gotten.

"That's cool. The more magical abilities I can mimic the stronger each one is. Let me check the screen for the enhanted armour and see what it's really about."
[Enchanted Armour]
[Vanishing Magic]
[Elongating Magic]
[Blood Magic]
"Does this just show the magical abilities I have mimicked? Is that all it does?"
Jake stared at the system screen for a while before realizing he had missed something. The system screens were normally in a light green colour hovering in his line of sight and he had always used his mind to do anything regarding increasing his stats or using his stat points.
But the system screen was in a darker shade for the enchanted armour screen and finally thought to select the elongating magic he was seeing with his mind and the text it appeared in became very visibly smaller than the others.
He checked the screen for his mimicked magical abilities and was quite surprised by what he saw.
[Stat points: 5]
[Mimicked magic 1: Blood Magic]
[Strength of Mimicked magic: 190]
[Mimicked magic 2: Vanishing Magic]
[Strength of Mimicked magic: 250]
[Mimicked magic 3: Elongating Magic]
[Strength of Mimicked Magic: 185]
[Total Magic Strength: 625]
"Does this mean I can select the magical abilities I mimicked before and still be able to use them with the help of the enchanted armour? Even if I replace them or the time runs out?"
Jake was surprised and excited by the capabilities of the armour. When the elders had told him to find out what it did by himself, he was not expecting this.
