Jake's right arm had healed after Nine dislodged the forearm from the elbow. After it healed Jake used the advantage he had over Nine. The advantage being that Jake was overall better than Nine in terms of strength and speed. But Nine had a powerful magical ability which made him stronger than even those with better physical attributes.
Nine's magic worked by using a person's blood against them. He used it as a force to control their own bodies and use it against them. That is how he is able to break their bones and possibly explode parts of their bodies.
But right now, Jake's body was healing at a rapid rate which is way faster than anyone Nine had ever fought against. As Jake's body healed, he was able to push back against Nine's control over his body and he was slowly moving closer to Nine.
Jake was now on the ground again, no longer being held in the air by Nine but Nine was still fighting, trying to get control of Jake's body again.
Jake felt Nine trying to twist his neck so he can end things quickly but Jake fought back and made sure he did not give Nine that chance. As his body healed, Nine was using immense force to break his bones again but each time it was getting harder for Nine to keep doing it and he did not have an endless supply of mana so sooner or later, he would have to stop using his magic.
As the femur in Jake's left leg healed for the third time, Jake saw his system notification and looked at his health.

'My health is running low and I can't keep healing myself.' Jake thought to himself. 'I need to do something. This tactic isn't helping and he doesn't seem to be running out of mana.'
Jake moved closer and closer to Nine each time his body healed and Nine backed up until there was nowhere left to go inside the box. His back had hit the end of the box and Jake was now only a few feet in front of him.
"Nowhere to run." Jake said to Nine while still groaning as his bones got broken and healed.
"What the hell is Jake?" Kevin asked as they all watched Jake inch towards Nine with broken bones which were being healed.
"No idea." Smith replied. "A normal person should not be able to do... that. How is he doing that?"
Sasha was also watching Jake and was surprised by what he was doing. Despite Jake being a hybrid – half Melynx and half Human – he should not be able to do what was currently happening. His body was literally receiving damage and healing itself on the spot and Sasha could not feel any energy being used. Even if Jake was using his energy, his body should not be healing that fast yet here he was.
"No wonder he's way above the rest of us in terms of strength." Kyle said, watching Jake with astonishment. "That guy's a monster." For some reason, Kyle was smiling at how strong Jake actually was compared to him and he felt like what they were watching was not even Jake's limit.
"Should we not be thinking of a way to help him as he is in there?" Rheya asked.
"You're the one who somehow trapped him in there. You think of something." Sasha replied.
"Yeah, why did you trap Jake in there with him?" Smith asked Rheya.
"Because if he was alone in there, he would have no problems getting out." Rheya answered. "But with someone in there with him to keep him busy, the box should hold for a while."
Rheya had watched Jake fight and kill a lot of beasts which included three apex-ranked beasts. If anyone could survive long enough against a person with blood magic it should be him.
The convicts were also watching Jake and Nine in the box through the other side and they were rooting for Nine. Nine was sort of their leader and since none of them could go against him, they did anything he said. If he could not beat the person in the box with him, none of them could.

Jake looked at his health again and decided on what to do. 'Screw it.' He was going to end this even if it meant exposing himself. He could keep moving towards Nine but then what? He still did not have full control over his body and Nine was obviously not going to stop breaking more of his bones. He constantly kept trying to snap Jake's neck and one mistake from Jake, his life could end in a heartbeat. He could not afford to die now.
Suddenly, Sasha felt a rush of energy coming from Jake and instantly knew what he was about to do.
Rheya also felt a slight change in the serenity of the atmosphere. Or the lack thereof. And she knew Jake was about to use the same thing he used when he was fighting the beasts the elders had unleashed on him.
She slowly recalled what the elder Viesagol had said to her when they were standing together in the room where Jake was kept as they watched him fight the beasts.
When Viesagol and Rheya saw the purple energy Jake had used against the beasts which later turned into white energy, Rheya had expressed her confusion about the energy to Viesagol and he had explained while still remaining a tad vague.
Viesagol had mentioned to Rheya about another race of people who used energy within themselves just like the humans used magic. Or what they thought was magic but was just a variation of actual magic.
The ability Jake displayed with the energy he used was attributed to the same characteristics of the race Viesagol had told her about and Jake was about to use it again here. Whether Jake knew or realized that he was only part human was unknown to her but she clearly remembered Viesagol saying the name of the race was Melynx.
