On Vaxoryn, Andrea had just been let through the gates by the guards on the order of a gorgeous and very attractive young woman who was already in the compound of the house glowing blue.
After being let through the gates, Andrea walked halfway up the stairs leading to the double doors of the house to meet the young woman.
"Thank you." Andrea said when he reached the young woman.
"I know who you are." she said. "You're Andrea Xendor."
Andrea was a bit surprised that someone as young as the lady in front of him knew about him. After all, it had been thirty years since he was banished from Vaxoryn.
Seeing the surprised look on the man's face, Kalvrie decided to explain herself.
"My apologies for being rude." Kalvrie said. "My name is Kalvrie. I work for Sir Lumian."
"I would say I am Andrea but you already know that. And I haven't been a Xendor in like thirty years."
"Since you were banished by the Master." Kalvrie said, knowing what Andrea would probably be thinking.
"How do you know that?" Andrea asked.
"I like to read a lot and dig into the past during my spare time." Kalvrie explained. "You're like a living legend."
"I wouldn't call myself that but it's nice to meet a fan." Andrea said with a smile. "You seem like a nice person so why would someone like you work for Lumian?"
"He kind of raised me." Kalvrie said. "He never actually spoke to me but he was in charge of the people who took care of me. I grew up in this house." she said and looked at the house. "When I was nineteen he made me his assistant and I've worked for him ever since."
"Piece of advice, you should leave while you have the chance." Andrea said. "He's the worst of the worst."
"He is your brother." Kalvrie reminded. "So he can't be that bad."
"That's a wrong assumption but do what you feel is right. I'm guessing your parents are not in the picture?" Andrea said.
"No, I never knew my parents." Kalvrie replied.
"I'm sorry about that." Andrea said. "Thanks for letting me in but I really need to speak to Lumian now."
"What do you want to speak to him about?" Kalvrie asked.
"I think it's best if I tell it to him directly." Andrea replied. "Thanks again." he said then walked towards the double doors, opened them and went in.
Heading further into the house, Andrea was looking around at the house he once lived in and saw that it had changed in many ways.
Andrea had to admit that the interior decor of the house was now better than what he remembered. Even the furnitures and the furnishings were better than before.
'Lumian has been busy.' Andrea thought as he walked on. Most things in the house were blue, including the walls, which gave the house a certain kind of vibe that Andrea could not quite describe. Although it had always been that way, it now seemed a bit weird to Andrea who was returning after thirty long years.
Andrea saw Lumian seated in the living room which was used to welcome guests doing nothing in particular then he called out to him. "Lumian."
Turning his head to the side slightly, just enough to see who had called him by his name, Lumian saw Andrea exiting the doorway and was momentarily surprised but his expression of obvious surprise was slowly replaced by a smile.
"Andrea." Lumian said as he got up from the cushy couch he was seated on. "Brother." he said and walked round the chair with open arms, going to meet Andrea for a hug.
Andrea stopped him by a putting his palm on his chest. "Don't test my patience Lumian."
"Oh come on brother. It's been thirty years." Lumian said with sarcasm as he moved back and went to the cupboard filled with bottles of a variety of alcohol at the corner of the living room.
He took a bottle from the cupboard and a glass from one of the drawers underneath. He filled the glass with the alcohol and gulped it down once. Then he poured another into the glass.
"I'm sorry, should I pour you a glass?" Lumian asked Andrea.
"Where is Jake?" Andrea asked firmly, ignoring Lumian's question.
Swirling the bit of alcohol left in the glass while he stared at it, Lumian said to Andrea, "This might be the only thing those humans are good for. It has its effects on them – making them tipsy or intoxicated – but as the superior race we are, it is barely an itch at the back of our throats. Nothing more than that yet it is still intoxicating in its own way."
Rushing forward to meet Lumian, Andrea hit the glass out of his hand angrily, making it hit the wall and shatter. He grabbed Lumian by the collar of his blue overcoat and slammed him against the long cupboard that contained at least a few dozen bottles of alcohol.
The part of the cupboard where Andrea slammed Lumian into broke and the bottles broke as well. Shards of the glass from the bottles pierced through Lumian's overcoat and his skin, making him bleed but Lumian still remained silent with a smile on his face as though it was plastered.
"I see you haven't changed." Lumian said, ignoring the blood flowing down his body from his back. "Still as short-tempered as you were thirty years ago."
"Where. Is. Jake." Andrea said again, slowly this time whilst looking directly into Lumian's eyes.
Lumian's green hair had been styled back but now, with Andrea still holding him, it had become rough with different strands out of place which was the exact opposite of how it would usually be.
"You do realize that now you are more human than you are melynx." Lumian said. "I could easily punch you in the guts and send you to an early grave. Maybe not so early since you're like what, fifty?" he said with a chuckle.
Andrea brought the small black knife out of his sleeve and now that it was exposed to the sunlight entering the room through the windows, the black blade elongated and began shining brighter than before while the sunlight around it also increased in intensity.
"That's what makes you so confident coming back here?" Lumian asked. "Even with that you cannot beat me."
"Why don't you convince dear old dad to give me back my energy and we'll settle this." Andrea replied. "I see you got rid of the guards inside the house. Not enough privacy for you with them around?"
"Why would I know where Jake is?" Lumian asked then grabbed both of Andrea's wrists and headbutted him right in the face.
Andrea stumbled back a couple feet and felt blood flowing from his nostril. His nose was broken and it was bleeding profusely.
'The sword is increasing my overall strength but Lumian was still able to break my nose notwithstanding. From just a headbutt. How strong has he gotten?' Andrea thought.
"In case you were wondering," Lumian said, a smirk on his face, "I accessed the third gear a couple years ago."
