Leaving the hotel room where they had all stayed for a while, Anna and Sky went back to the reception to talk to the receptionist.
They had already checked the hotel room and they had not found Sasha or Jake.
"Hey." Anna said as she got to the female receptionist's desk. "Have you seen a black haired boy? Tall, wearing a blue sweatshirt, his hair is..."
"Anna relax." Sky said, stepping in between Anna and the receptionist, who was looking like she had just been hassled.
"Sorry about that." Sky said to the receptionist, leaning forward on the desk with a dazzling smile on his face which made her blush a little. "I'm Sky. You are?"
"Heather." the receptionist replied, still blushing and smiling at Sky. She was in her early twenties and the young man in front of her was too handsome for her to control her blushing.
"Nice name Heather." Sky said. "We're looking for someone. Can you help us?"
"Of course. Anything you need." Heather answered.
"He's my brother. Like the beautiful lady said before," Sky said, referring to Anna, "he has black hair. He sort of tied it in a ponytail, blue sweatshirt. Ringing any bells Heather?"
"Yeah he came here to check into another room." Heather said. "He had a lot of beasts essence."
"Which room did he check into?" Anna asked.
Looking at Anna and scoffing, Heather turned her attention back to Sky. "You won't find him there. He left the hotel a while ago with some chick."
"Do you know where to?" Sky asked.
"No, I'm sorry." Heather said.
"That's okay. Thanks Heather, nice meeting you." Sky said.
He was about to leave with Anna when Heather put her hand on his. "Call me." she whispered and winked at Sky before removing her hand.
Now in Sky's hand, there was a card with Heather's contact information on it.
Smiling, Sky put the card in his dimensional ring and followed Anna out of the hotel.
"Seriously?" Anna said, heading to the exit of the haven. "Flirting while we're searching for your brother?"
"I wouldn't call it flirting. But I got us what we wanted didn't I?" Sky asked.
Smiling and shaking her head, Anna and Sky went to the exit and spoke to the soldiers that were there. They were told that two people had jumped over the walls and ran in the direction of a wert base.
The people had both been using super speed so the soldiers did not know who they were. After trying to stop the people who had jumped over the wall, the situation had been reported to the barracks.
"Of course they'd jump." Anna said. "You can't leave the haven unless you're in a group of five. So they're really going to attack the base."
"Looks like it. Let's go." Sky said and walked to the gate which had already been opened for them. Due to him being with Anna, Sky did not need to be in a group for him to be able to leave the haven.
"What's the plan?" Sky asked Anna as they both ran towards the wert base together.
"Extraction." Anna said. "We get to the wert base as quietly as we can, and leave there with Jake and Sasha."
"What if they don't want to come with us?" Sky asked.
After being silent for a couple of seconds, Anna answered. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

Getting to the wert base, Jake and Sasha stopped running when they were only a few metres away from the base.
The wert base was similar to the haven in that it also had walls surrounding it but there weren't any werts on the walls acting as lookouts.
"How should we do this?" Sasha asked Jake.
"How about we just go in and deal some damage?" Jake said.
"Sounds good." Sasha replied.
Running towards the wall surrounding the wert base, Jake and Sasha punched it at the same time which made a hole in the wall, big enough for both of them to pass through.
Stepping inside the base with dust having risen to the air, Jake and Sasha could see a lot of werts stop whatever they were doing and stare at them.
It was like time had stopped for a second and what had just happened was sinking into the minds of everyone that was present.
"Hey guys." Jake said with a smile on his face. "I'm one of your neighbours from another side of the planet. Just thought I'd stop by and say 'hi'."
Immediately after saying that, Jake used his super speed to run to the wert nearest to him and using his full strength, he punched the head of the wert away from its body.
It was a one-tailed wert so killing it in that manner was not a problem for Jake.
After Jake made the first move by killing a one-tailed wert, the other werts began moving towards him and Sasha with only one thought in their minds: kill them.

Running in the hallway before stopping in front of a door and catching his breath, one of the colonels in the Vedan army opened the door and stepped into the large room.
It was a very large room with a few people moving from place to place, multiple holographic screens hovering in the air and people typing away on keyboards and on the screens.
Briskly walking up to the man who stood in the middle of the room, coordinating everything going on in the room, the colonel stopped a few feet behind him and spoke.
"Commander Chase." the colonel said and gave a salute. "I am here to inform you of a situation which has arisen."
"What situation?" Commander Chase asked, not bothering to turn and face the colonel.
"Miss Anna left the haven and ran in the direction of one of the wert bases." the colonel explained.
"What?" Commander Chase asked, turning around with so much force that a gust of wind hit the colonel. "And you're telling me this now?"
"I'm very sorry Sir." the colonel said. "I came to inform you the moment I heard about it. And she wasn't alone, she was with a boy."
"Who is the boy?" Commander Chase asked.
"His name is Sky Dipson. He's sixteen years and he is the brother to the boy who went missing a month ago." the colonel explained.
"That is interesting." Commander Chase said with a thoughtful expression on his face. "Tell all the generals to head to the meeting room immediately. I'll talk to the other commander, I'll update her on the situation if she hasn't heard about it already."
Moving round the barracks, the colonel was passing the commander's instructions to the generals while Commander Chase had left the room he was in and went to meet the other commander on Soran.
Commander Lucy was the second commander on Soran. She had pink hair and was currently in another part of the barracks, coordinating the operations going on there, when a brigadier informed her about Anna's supposed whereabouts.
She was on her way to find Commander Chase when they both met halfway to the meeting room.
"Chase." Commander Lucy said when she saw Commander Chase. "I was making my way to you."
"So was I." Commander Chase said. "I assume you've heard about the situation."
"Yes I have." Commander Lucy replied.
"What are we going to do?" Commander Chase asked. "We need to get her back by all means. She must not die in one of those wert bases."
"Tell me something I don't know." Commander Lucy said.
"Why would she go to the wert base even after we told her it was a bad idea? Does she think she can defeat those five-tailed werts alone? And who the hell is the boy who went with her?"
"Let's calm down and head to the meeting room." Commander Lucy said. "I'm sure the generals are already waiting for us. We can figure out our next course of action with them."
"Yeah, let's go." Commander Chase said and they both headed to the meeting room.
