While Elric was getting ready to watch Ember's performance, his father was on the opposite side of the city.
Droplets of water fell steadily from the ceiling, plopping quickly onto the hard cement floor. Everything was gray- the cement pillars holding up the sagging ceiling, the floor, and even the clouded sky visible through the windows framed with broken glass.
"So then, how did you think this would end?"
A middle-aged man leaned against one of the cracked cement pillars, a small trail of blood running down the side of his forehead. The man had a few marks on his face and one of his eyes was swollen shut, but his large frame didn't look afraid.
"Peh. Something like this."
Peliston spat out a mouthful of blood as he looked up at the enemies who'd forced him into this state. Eight of them, all of similar builds to himself.
"Really though, I'm genuinely curious. After years of staying away, what made you want to get back into this stuff?"
