Elric's footsteps echoed through a quiet hallway, a calm zone before a storm of sound. As he rounded the corner at the end of the hallway, a large set of doors stood in front of him. Suddenly, he wasn't alone in the hallway. There were people all around him.
He could recognize some of their faces, while others were blurred out.
Taking a step forward, he pushed on the door, releasing a bright beam of light that shined directly into his eyes.
The next moment, he was sitting in front of a stage, staring up at the performance that was about to start.
In the center of the stage was a beautiful young woman, her blonde hair flowing smoothly over a familiar red dress. In the shadows behind the stage, he could see two more figures standing silently.
A grand piano slowly rolled across the stage, coming to a halt in front of the girl at center stage, and she pulled a chair off of it then sat down.
Her fingers moved toward the keys, and Elric's heart tensed as he recognized the notes.
