I stood still like a wet rabbit in front of a cold-hearted boss who owns the largest laundry firm in my community. this is the second time I am receiving a scolding from him from been late, all my co-workers stood at their position gazing secretly at us, and I could also see the scared look on their faces.mr smith is a well-known man of strong discipline and takes things seriously including his marital status, he is about early forty with broad shoulders and a chubby body, he was dark-skinned
"let this be the first and last time you come in here late" he muttered out in serious tune and all I could do was nod my head, he stood for a while before he bounce back to his office, I felt relieved and rushed to my duty post, my job in kenzy laundry is to supply people their cloths in their houses and offices, my boss named his company after his son 'kenzy' that's how the name comes about.
"Elora" Sonia called out to me, she is one of my trusted friends and very jovial, she always lightens me up whenever I am down, we do things together, and a smile curves her face as she hands me a bag.
"thank you, Sonia". I replied with a warm smile.
"Please stay out of trouble on your way". she warned
" do you have to keep saying that? I asked knowing that is the normal routine she always says to me whenever I am out for delivery...well, I am not the kind of a girl who bulls on people, I always mind my business, what I can't Stand in people is those who think highly of themselves and sees other people as nothing(sighs). well, I don't think I have introduced myself early(laughs). my name is Elora dick, I know what you are thinking, the full meaning is Dickson, you corrupt mind(laugh).am just kidding .am girl of nineteen years old with light-skinned, brown eyes, a little skinny but perfect in shape, my dad was from America while my mom was from the Philippines, they meet on one of their vacations, fell in love and had me, but I didn't grow up to meet my dad, my mom told me he dies eight months after my birth, he died in a plane crash on his way to a business trip with his boss, so I got all the care and love from my mom who runs a little coffee shop after she resigns from her banking job to take care of me, though it wasn't easy to raise a child by herself, she opens the cafe shop from the money she has saved up from her work and the little one my dad has in his account before his death. I couldn't help to see my mom working so hard to cater to me and my needs, so I decided to work after rounding up from high school and as well gathering money to go to college.
"I know you too well, elora, so I am just saying," she said and I let out a sigh.
"fine!" I frowned walking away and I could see the grin on her face when I left.
