Chapter 80 - Weapon of Mass Destruction

S3bastian POV:

Me and the meat shields... I mean, soldiers ran after the Titan who was heading towards the omnium. I didn't need to read minds to know that everyone doubted whether we could stop the Titan, but they didn't know that I was the Supreme Overlord and built for this very moment.

I had to commend Shawn's foresight, as he knew that these great machines were going to eventually be a threat. However, the specifics were unknown to us at the time of how great their armor was, therefore, a rough estimate was made. Nevertheless, I finally was given the chance to use what I've been saving.

We easily catch up to the slow walking frame of the Titan, but nearby brethen interfere with our efforts to focus solely on it. They'll be problematic if allowed to exist, as they could catch us at an awkward moment. Positioning on the remainder of the rooftops, me and the other soldiers coordinate to exterminate the few brethren that roam around the Titan.

Scanning, the Titan, I can already tell that it's going to be an issue taking it down. However, this was my debut, my time to shine. The soldiers beside me nervously await for instructions as I process the best way to take it down. Turning to them, I address them.

"Its weakest point has to be the on its midsection right before the legs connect. In other words, aim for its balls."

The soldiers nod, then branch off into three different groups. Some to attack it on the left, others on the right, while I alone take it on dead center. Taking the safety off on the assault rifle from Shawn, I realized there was a song perfect for this moment. As I charge forward, I internally sing,

'You could never know what it's like, your blood like winter, freezes just like ice.'

Gunfire erupts from the left, as they engage first, staying mobile while trying to destroy the turrets at its waist. As if annoyed, the Titan pauses, slowly turning to deal with them. On its right, a rocket explodes on the turret, damaging it slightly. This causes it to turn back around to address the others.

'And there's a cold, lonely light that shines from you, you'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use.'

Lobbing an EMP grenade, I keep it centered as I also lay down covering fire as well. Running towards it, I activate my ace, causing energy to hum throughout my wrists. Nearing the legs of the Titan, a barrel extends from my wrist and a ball of red energy shoots out. The ball takes a second before reaching the Titan, who takes a step back. The ball connects with it, sending off a huge explosion that causes the Titan to back up into nearby ruins.

Everyone pauses as they look at me in shock, as they once doubted my capabilities. That's what made me so special, the reason I am considered by the government a weapon of mass destruction. Most omnics contain only a single core fusion reactor to power them. Shawn installed an experimental drive that produces plasma, allowing me to weaponize it and shoot out a powerful shot comparable to a military missile. The downside was that it was experimental, so it took a lot out of me.

I switch back over to my fusion reactor, which provides me a boost of power while the Plasma Drive restores energy for another shot. With it stunned, the soldiers begin their attack on the parts I've instructed them to. Sounds of bullets pinging off metal and the explosions of rocks go ignored as I continue the song.

'And did you think this fool could never win? Well look at me, I'm a-comin' back again.'

Metal groans, as the Titan struggles to get up from the remains of the building it fell into and destroyed. It determines me to be the deadliest threat and focuses on me. Its turrets on its waist take aim at me before opening fire. I easily dodge the bullets, using the abandoned cars and building as cover. The soldiers continue their assault on the Titan, focusing one of the turrets on its waist.

Two rockets on both sides simultaneously strike the left turret, engulfing it in flames. Parts of the gun fall off and the soldier's cheer. Almost like it's pissed, it raises its right gun towards the soldiers on the right, but I come in close, raising my arm. Once again, a red ball shoots off into the Titan, exploding in a shower of flames and black cloud that stagger it backwards.

'I got a taste of love in a simple way. And if you need to know while I'm still standin', you just fade away.'

The soldiers start cheering once again, while I have to pause as my power source switches. In that brief couple of seconds, the unfortunate happens. Rapid gunshots snap everyone attention to the left, to find them scrambling for cover as a barrage of bullets follows them. Our fight has attracted all nearby brethren in the area. Currently, there was a line of transfigured sheep shooting at them.

Jumping on a nearby building and calculating, I provide assistance to them by shooting an EMP grenade their way. Shouts come from my right to find the metal horse sisters fighting with them. Turning to help them, a shadow loom over me.

Looking back, I see the Titan's right gun pointed at me. It would make sense that I would forget about a weakly like him. All I can do is manage to jump out of the direct fire of it, but the explosion knocks me off my feet, into a car.

As an omnic, we lacked pain receptors like humans, but I could tell, that hurt. As my body parts fizzed with loose electricity, I could only watch as the Titan finished off the rest of my team. Deep down, I begin to feel something that I've never felt before.

'How dare a hand me down like him injure me, the Supreme Overlord of all omnics. Now I was laying here like some failure. Was this all I was capable of? I was a weapon, a powerful one, yet here was I crippled up like trash.'

This feeling, I know of it but was this really the first time I've experienced, anger? But, through it, I could feel there was another power within me, something innate, like it was already there since I awoke. In my rage, I grasped this power that, who resisted my influence. Even though I lacked the ability to feel pain, I could sense my encounter being was racking from existence by using this power. Not caring, I used it anyway.

Standing up like nothing happened, I possess that energy and let it flow throughout my body. A purple and black orb forms at the end of my hand, which I hold out towards the Titan. Sensing something was wrong, the Titan turns to me, but it's too late. A ray of void shoots out, tearing through the Titan's shoulder like butter. As its right arm falls off, I smile at the damage I've caused it, then my body falls as I embrace the dark as words continue to echo through my mind.

'Don't you know I'm still standin' better than I ever did? Lookin' like a true survivor, feelin' like a little kid. And I'm still standin' after all this time, pickin' up the pieces of my life without you on my mind.

I'm still standing...'
