Tai Bàoli forfeited. Almost as soon as Elder Xian finished beginning the match Tai Bàoli Bowed and forfeited. Ju Yian was faster, stronger, more experienced, basically better in every way. On top of this he had 3 separate techniques that none of his previous opponents had forced him to use, sure they were only low level mastery, but Tai Bàoli had no knowledge of what any of them did. Yet Ju Yian had full knowledge of everything Tai Bàoli could do.
Which also meant Ju Yian would probably try and incapacitate Tai Bàoli's legs as soon as possible or arms. Or another bad possibility was he'd try and wait out the length of Tai Bàoli's strikes, which would also end badly for Tai Bàoli as he'd get slower and slower without ever hitting Ju Yian.
As the third and final note for Tai Bàoli quitting? it was his mission screen.

That's right, Tai Bàoli's own system ran the probability of success against Ju Yian and rated the mission impossible. Tai Bàoli had some doubts but maybe the system had some calculations or some knowledge Tai Bàoli didn't. In any case Tai Bàoli wasn't going to question the system.
He'd Immediately forfeited, the system had never been wrong before, and had never led him astray before.
Elder Xian immediately declared Ju Yian the winner.
Tai Bàoli was a little upset but he had still obtained second place and beaten Seung Duang. Xi'an Zi wasn't angry either, he walked over to Tai Bàoli and slapped him on the back.
Xi'an Zi: "At least you beat Seung Duang, to be honest I don't know if I could have done that."
Tai Bàoli smiled and rubbed his shoulder while speaking
Tai Bàoli: "Yea it was difficult, I'm sorry I didn't fight with Ju Yian, but he's not from some big clan and he is clearly stronger than me. I'm really sorry I didn't try, I just had a really bad feeling about it."
Xi'an Zi waved his hand
Xi'an Zi: "Don't worry about it, we're cool"
Tai Bàoli smiled wide Xi'an Zi seemed like an amazing dude, he wanted to make friends with him at some point.
After sometime Elder Xian Gathered the top ten disciples to the platform and gave them all their rewards. For obtaining second place Tai Bàoli got a special pill and 1000 martial credits.
The special pill was a high mortal rank body refining pill, it could revitalize one's body and increase their strength by a whole level. Tai Bàoli was super excited.
After the rewards were handed out everyone went back to their pavilions and continued on like normal. Tai Bàoli had quite a lot to think about as he stayed within his own room. As he sat in his room he'd take the body refining pill and begin absorbing it's power.
It would take 48 hours of continued meditation for Tai Bàoli to completely absorb its effects, but Tai Bàoli couldn't be more happy he did so.
The Pill had pushed him into the Altering Muscle Stage and had increased his Strength tremendously. Tai Bàoli was always happy these days. and he was even more excited when he thought about all the experience he had to spend.

After some careful consideration Tai Bàoli decided to upgrade his Bear's Hide technique to the next level.

Because of Tai Bàoli's increase in strength from the body refining pill he was able to handle himself while the Bear's Hide technique changed into the basilisk hide technique. The change was as exaggerated as the Traceless Spectre Across the Void technique but Tai Bàoli could definitely feel the power of his body increase tremendously again.
Tai Bàoli then gave it some more thought, eventually there would be a technique that had a Comprehension requirement to far from what he currently had. And on top of this quite a bit of the disciples he had seen and fought with had outstanding comprehensions.
Maybe Tai Bàoli should upgrade his own comprehension to try and contend?
After that thought Tai Bàoli steeled his mind, he'd definitely upgrade his comprehension. Even if he had this fantastical system it didn't make him infallible, I mean just look at Ju Yian, Tai Bàoli simply stood no chance if had attempted a battle against him. It kind of upset Tai Bàoli too.
Tai Bàoli hoped by lessening the difference between their comprehension Tai Bàoli could more easily catch up. And on top of this Tai Bàoli would be able to cultivate and increase the strength of some of his techniques without spending points on them so long as his comprehension was high enough.

Even without the system Tai Bàoli could be considered a genius now. If at some point the system left him he'd still be able to contend by himself and progress farther down the path of cultivation and martial arts.
All that remained now was for Tai Bàoli to spend his martial credits. He now had 3000 martial credits and could spend them as he pleased. With 3000 martial credits Tai Bàoli could look into the high tier martial arts techniques in the library, and if he was really courageous even look into a peak grade technique. The possibilities really were endless.
After cleaning himself up Tai Bàoli would make his way to the martial arts library and complete his daily task, as he finished he felt refreshed slightly, it had been a long time since he'd done his daily task but the familiar sensation was great on his mind.
And while he was cleaning the library he even got a chance to peruse the different techniques filling the bookshelves.
Tai Bàoli was careful and cautious and going as far as to look over low and mid tier techniques, just in case there were some he hadn't gotten to look at or examine when he was looking for techniques previously.
It ended up being quite a long and arduous task, but eventually through a couple days of searching and doing his daily tasks Tai Bàoli finally narrowed it down to a set of 10 different techniques to look at.
He didn't know which ones he'd be taking with him to learn but they all provided different wonderful benefits.
