Volt Luster was arguably one of the best brawlers of the vestals. The aura he exuded around him undoubtedly revealed the hardships he had endured. One might have mistaken him for a true warrior rather than a brawler.
That was what James deduced when he saw the Volt.
Volt, on the other hand, sensed a different vibe from James when he first saw him. His appearance was not important. But the air he gave off was different from a vestal. It was hard to define. But as a fighter who had always been in fights, this air made him feel as if he was facing a challenge.
For this reason, he became serious. He was certainly no ordinary guy. In fact, he was extremely weird.
Victor sighed. His work was done here. It had been extremely difficult for him to get someone like Volt, whose only passion was to fight, to come here. But he couldn't let the good name of the Eclipse Restaurant be tarnished. He didn't want it to be said that he couldn't even keep his word.
For this reason, he felt a sense of relief. He spoke in a nonchalant manner:
"Here, Mr. Luster, here is the person who wanted to talk to you. It is not for me to interfere with your conversation from here on."
He stood up and headed for the exit. He was not interested in the conversation between the two brawlers. Even if he had been here, his presence would have been completely unnecessary.
Volt nodded his head in agreement.
Victor spoke in a whisper as he walked past James:
"Unlike some, we are not a restaurant that breaks its promises. As you can see. What a shame."
Then he walked downstairs. James ignored his words. Maybe there was more between them than Lucy had told him, or maybe it was just Victor believing his own fictions. It was none of his business.
Volt stood up and looked at him seriously.
"What do you want?"
James assumed from Volt's directness that he was uncomfortable being called here. Well, having no idea what kind of connections Victor had, James didn't comment much on this gruff demeanor.
But Fox's words could be heard:
[How unkind is he?]
Ignoring Fox's comment, James spoke with a straight face:
"First of all, hello. My name is James. Just James."
He approached and offered his hand to Volt. Volt replied as he shook his hand:
"Volt Luster."
James stepped back slightly and sat down in one of the chairs. Volt's expression softened a little as he sat down too. Yet James could still sense that he was on guard. Of course, he couldn't understand why, so he thought he should be more careful.
After adjusting his voice slightly, he spoke:
"I wanted to talk to you for a simple reason. First of all, I want you to look at these pictures."
James handed Volt the pictures he had taken out of his jacket. Volt knitted his eyebrows, took the pictures and looked at them. These were pictures of the path to the switch. There was even a picture of the inside filled with lasers.
James spoke as Volt studied the pictures:
"I know it's none of your business. But you are the only one who can trust me and the only one I can ask. I was going to ask you to increase security in this area."
Volt raised his eyebrows slightly. James continued his explanation:
"As you can see, despite all the security, these places can be entered and exited with a little distraction. I'm worried there might be a problem at the upcoming tournament."
He paused for a moment. Then he continued:
"I know this is not something that concerns you at all. But you will be at that tournament, won't you?"
Volt looked at him and asked calmly:
"How do you know that?"
James replied:
"I tried my luck, it worked. Anyway, it wouldn't be nice if your challenge ended in an accident. So please, as the best player, please prevent that from happening."
Immediately after that, he stood up again, bent his back ninety degrees, bowed respectfully and waited for his answer.
Volt remained silent in the face of his words. He had heard that a boy who had just become popular when he arrived here wanted to meet him. He didn't usually act without orders, but since he was going to the tournament anyway, he didn't see a problem.
He had never thought that he would meet such a strange boy in a place that he did not care much about and that he had only come for the sake of it.
His refusal to use his last name made him think that he was an orphan, and his strange air made him think that he had been through a difficult environment like him. His humble demeanor, however, was quite surprising.
With all that said, his words were not unreasonable. No doubt the place looked heavily guarded. But combined with the pictures he showed, James's words were spot on.
Just then, a bakugan opened on Volt's shoulder. The face of this white colored bakugan was grinning like a clown. Apart from that, the ball-shaped opening style was very acrobatic and forward. This was Mega Brontes.
"Haha! Bend down a little more! Let's see your back."
James was surprised by this. Apart from Hammersaur's shouting, this was the only bakugan with whom he had any real communication. Of course, since he was bending down, his surprised face was not visible.
It was only at the Brontes' words that Volt realized that James was standing bent over. He put the pictures in his jacket pocket. Then, frowning slightly, he said to him:
"Raise your head. What are you doing?"
James straightened up as quickly as he heard Volt. He was unfamiliar with the culture of respect here. Therefore, he did the most reasonable thing he could think of as a sign of respect.
Or, to put it more simply, he just panicked.
Volt took him by the shoulders and straightened him up even more. A man should not have lowered his head so easily. James looked at him solemnly:
"You shouldn't bow your head to anyone, even if you're going to die."
James nodded his head slightly in agreement. He did not completely agree with what he said. But he remained silent.
At this moment Brontes' words were heard:
"How about dancing instead? You could break dance or robot dance."
James just rolled his eyes at Brontes' words. His extremely stupid words gave him a headache. Volt, on the other hand, ignored Brontes straight on, and after some thought, said:
"I will inform the authorities about this."
James was surprised by the unexpected response, but then smiled and thanked him sincerely. Probably in this situation neither Volt nor anyone else would have known the importance of increasing this simple security measure for James.
James talked to him some more. Volt was not as talkative as he remembered. Instead, his Bakugan, Brontes, talked a lot.
After talking for a while, they naturally parted. Everyone had their own things to do. After a while, though, a notification fell in front of James.
