'Just let loose for one, and fucking have some fun'.
Those where Tracy's words before she let go of my wrist and disappeared into the mass of party people. That was the social equivalent desert, snatching the map from my head , and asking me to use my head.
I just stood there, the most awkward person at the party, cursing Tracy and wondering what the hell I should do next.
In almost five minutes I stood there by the door, watching teens stroll through the large living room, screaming like crazy and dancing to the music thumping through the air, I only recognize three people. Two of them used to be my classmate— former high school seniors like me, which was a good thingI guess— and then Tracy who kept shifting from one stranger to the other, smiling and talking and chugging out of a red party cup.
How is she so calm and good at this?
I took in a deep breath and decided to have fun. I hate parties, that one the thing. in all my almost nineteen years,I've only attended tree parties — one of those was my eighteenth birthday party, which still make me cringe to this day.
I shuddered and wiped off that thought.
"You no what am gonna have some fun", I said to myself with a renewed enthusiasm taking Tracy challenge a little personally. I'll show her not just to dumb me in a place I'm not familiar with.
First thing first; I have to get high. That's the one way I can eliminate my shyness and get down to business. My mind was made up and willing, but my body was still processing the orders. I rubbed my sweaty palms together and took several deep breaths, glancing around.
Then finally, my fingers found the edge of my skirt and I began to pick at it nervously wondering how I would move through all those people in front of me .
The living room was like a huge garage except more fancy and with a lot of stuff I knew I would be broken by the time It was dawn. Sofas and couches were occupied by couples doing their thing. Every other space— the stairs, hallway and even the entrance behind me—— had overly excited, hormone— bathed young Adults chatting, laughing, pouring some liquid down their throats or just smoking.
"Okay, you can do it," I reassured myself and took my first steps towards the crowd.
It turned out to be easier than I thought, I didn't stumble and get trampled by crowd, my iPhone was still intact, and I was soon standing in front of a wide table covered with all kind of drinks—— bottle of vodkas and wine, and cans of beer and tequila, boxed wine and more, there was even a a giant punch bowl with some red drinks covered with chunks of ice.
" Christ! don't these guys know what they call water?" I gasped.
"I'm afraid not," someone said from behind me. I turned around, praying it wasn't directed at me, because how the heck am I suppose to keep up a conversation when I hadn't even started drinking.
Something froze in me as soon as i turned and saw. I'm not sure what it was but my heart began to beat crazily, and I forgot how to speak. First, his blue eyes pulled me in like a couple of beautiful, glowing orbs, then, that cute smile showed is white teeth and the shirt dreads on his head.
I gulped.
He came closer, his eyes on me. He perfume was strong and masculine, but I loved it. It drove me crazy, and I wasn't sure why I was acting like a bitch on heat, but something electric was happening right now. My body was starting to feel hot and the nastiest thought crawled through in minds.
"I wouldn't try that though", he whispered and pointed the punch bowl.
"Uh,why?" I managed to find my voice, and it came out squeaky. Fuck.
A shirtless guy bumped between us , reeking if alcohol, face flushed red, then, raising his flabby arms and screaming excitedly, he leaned forward and dunked his head in the punch bowl, I grimaced and held my breath, and the blue-eyed cutie had an 'I told you so smile on his face.
The liquid in the punch bowl bubbles as the guy kept his head in there for a few seconds, his buddies cheering him on. Then he came up and staggered away, leaving the punch bowl at the edge of the table, a touch away from tipping over.
" That nasty," I said with disgust, and the blue- eyes cutie laughed.
"I'm Jason," he said, grabbing a red cup and handing it to me, " And you will have what am having."
I genuinely couldn't remember what my name was. I just wanted to drink in that beauty, melt at how his eyes focused on me like some heated beam of light, and that smile.
" blossom ," I said after staying silent for too long .
" Beautiful," he whispered again. His eyes lit up and we drank. After a few minutes, I started to relax and feel brazen.
"It's kinda noisy in here," I said , shouting but barely getting the words across.
"Let's get out of here then," Jason suggested
"The roof."
"Huh?"
" we could go to the roof," he repeated, and the idea excited me.
