Chapter 10 - Finishing touches

Hearing this, Weasley rushed to authorise his mother's entry.

Soon, a familiar giant door appeared several yards away at the centre of the island, seemingly hinged on the fabrics of reality itself.

A woman walked through the door and looked around the domain with an amazed expression.

Weasley quickly ran over to greet his mother with a smug smile on his face.

He quickly arrived and reached up to tug on his mother's sleeve.

Sylvia was quickly made aware of his presence and looked down at the little gremlin that was smiling ever so proudly.

Sylvia smiled in return.

" You did well darling." Sylvia said lovingly.

Weasley's smile widened. A small feeling of warmth that he didn't know how to describe welled up in him.

Getting affirmation was much sweeter a honey that he had realised.

Sylvia continued and asked Weasley if he had found the crux of his new domain who realised with a start that it had slipped his mind.

Sylvia nodded in understanding. She couldn't fault him for forgetting. The domain was indeed stunning.

" Have you received your helper?" Sylvia asked.

Weasley cocked his head to one side in confusion.

'What helper?'

Sylvia tried to elaborate.

" When I used the domain, I had a helper who would help me with my magic cultivation. He would answer my questions in a rather weird way but he would always provide me solutions to my problems." Sylvia explained.

" He can help with anything relating to the domain including locating its crux. Everyone who used the domain before had something similar as well."

Weasley had a hunch that she had been talking about the 'system' and told his mother about it who then confirmed his suspicions.

" So yours is called Siri. Her functions sound just about right. You will have more time to find out more of her abilities in the future but for now, try asking her to help you locate the crux of the domain. "

Sylvia looked at Weasley expectantly but noticed that he wasn't being very attentive. He was looking at the ground, somewhat in a daze and his face showed hints of displeasure.

" Darling? What's wrong?" Sylvia asked worriedly, thinking that her son was worn out form the day's events.

Weasley's head shot up quickly, seemingly in surprise when he heard his mother's voice. Sylvia felt her suspicions getting confirmed and resolved to put Weasley to bed after they were done with this.

" Sorry. It's nothing mom. I was just thinking about something." He assured her.

Sylvia smiled but naturally she didn't buy it.

Contrary to her expectations however, Weasley had in fact been thinking about something. Thinking about how this story wasn't progressing in his way at all!

Hell, weren't people who were transmigrated supposed to have completely overpowered skills or weapons or anything at all that would make them stronger than the rest? A cheat system, a weapon, a skill or even innate talent? Literally anything at all! And yet where was his?

Not only did he get a cheap replication of a system, it wasn't even something special since everyone who used the domain had one!

Weasley could only, once again, sign in defeat and disappointment. He could almost feel himself slipping away from his dreams and becoming doomed to the fate of a insignificant side character.

Naturally, Sylvia saw all this playing out and her son signing in 'exhaustion' only prompted her to become more nervous.

Sylvia rushed Weasley to find the crux of the domain, the latter who promptly complied.

" Hey Siri, please locate the crux of the domain." Weasley ordered.

" Certainly! Please wait several moments."

A short delay followed before it spoke again.

" Contractor, it would appear that the Crux is at the centre of the island."

Weasley frowned and looked around to search for any structure that could be the domain's crux.

He was standing at the island's centre right now and he couldn't spot anything of note.

" Siri, I don't see anything." Weasley reported back in confusion.

' Did Siri make a mistake?' Weasley wondered before dismissing the idea. A stray thought wandered into Weasley's mindscape and his face paled at the thought that the crux could potentially be one of the thousands of stones lying on the floor.

' There's no way… right?'

...

' Right??'

" Contractor, the crux of the domain lies not on its two dimensional centre but its three dimensional centre. It is underground beneath your feet." Siri transmitted. It's voice was as monotone as always but it almost seemed to be mocking Weasley for his stupidity.

Weasley had a 'ahh' moment when he heard this.

' No wonder I couldn't find it! I guess that explains it then' Weasley thought before relaying this information back to his mother.

" In that case, let's head back home then. I believe that that's enough action for a night." Sylvia declared.

Weasley was caught off guard as he had still wanted to stay and explore the domain further. There was still so much he hadn't explored yet! Not to mention training in here!

" Just one hour more mother! Please! There still so much I haven't seen yet!" Weasely begged like a s kid asking for more screen time.

However, Sylvia was adamant and in the end, Weasley was dragged back through the door back home.

...

" How brutish.. who knew mothers could do that." Weasley grumbled as he trudged with heavy footsteps back to his room. He did so while rubbing the back of his neck from which his mother had summoned the winds to pick him up the scruff of his neck like a cat and hauled his sorry ass back home against his will.

" Damn, didn't know child abuse existed here too."

Eventually, Weasley got back to his room and plopped down on his bed. The soft mattress cushioned him as he sank into the warm and neatly arranged sheets.

He could still remember the journey down the hallways, the sight of his mother's domain, the oppressive fear invoked by the teapot. It all came back so vividly that Weasley could feel his blood and adrenaline pumping. His heart raced.

' Can I even fall asleep in this state?' Weasley wondered and tried clearing his mind to no avail. He tossed and turned around, trying to get into a more comfortable position. However, no position was comfortable enough to ease his restlessness.

Deciding that it was pointless to try, Weasley simply lay in bed, looking at the ceiling and letting his mind wander.

' I wonder when mom would let me back into that domain. There so many things I want to try!'

' Would I be able to finally break though if I train in there? The Siri won't be much help though but at least it can give me suggestions….'

' I wonder if I can step off the island? Would I just fall off or would I actually land on the land scape below? Hell, can I actually die in there?'

...…

The sounds of the birds chirping reached Weasley's ear. Small rays of sun flooded through the closed curtains and shone on Weasley's face. Still groggy and half asleep, the infant child wiggled off his bed that was more like mini island in comparison to his body and made his way to the curtains.

Weasley yanked hard on the curtains and was momentarily flash-banged by the light of the glorious morning sun.

Except that it was no longer morning but rather almost into the afternoon.

Weasley however, didn't seem to notice this fact and went about his morning routine as usual. His body felt so heavy and sore this morning that he just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep again. Sadly, the sun had other ideas.

Weasley dragged his feet to the dining hall and pulled the door open.

'At least there would be food to wake me u…'

The hall was empty. There were a few servants milling around, carrying plates and table cloths but more importantly, the table was empty!

Weasley quickly called out to one of the maids passing by.

" Hey Maria, why is there no breakfast today?"

The maid, Maria, bowed and answered politely.

" Young master, breakfast was over three hours ago. It's almost lunchtime now."

Weasley almost jumped in shock. His grogginess disappeared at an astonishing pace.

" Why didn't anyone wake me?" He asked urgently.

Maria smiled helplessly.

" We tried young master, but you just wouldn't wake up. Eventually, the First Lady instructed us to just let you sleep."

Weasley slapped his forehead embarrassment.

' The maids saw my drooling, grimey stupid face…arggggghhhhhhh'

Weasley then realised that since it was almost lunchtime, he should probably get something done before lunch.

' What would I be doing at this time…'

The musing look on his face turned into one of despair as he turned heel and sprinted towards the training ground at top speed.

" Thanks Maria! See you later!"

Weasley didn't wait for her to respond as he rushed off.

He was in so much trouble,

Huffing and puffing, Weasley eventually made it to the training grounds. As usual, the sweltering heat of the sun bore down like a deathly beam of suffering that encompassed all. Weasley could already feel his new changed into shirt become wet with perspiration.

But that was the least of his worries.

Standing in a corner of the field was a slender woman with flaming red hair that seemed to explode form her head like a flame. Her arms akimbo and she was glaring at him with a gaze sharper than any sword.

Weasley gulped in fear.

He was fucked.
