A puddle of water rang out as a large droplet fell into it.
Rain falls onto the streets, walls, buildings, windows, and trees creating all sorts of noise as the water collides against them.
Umbrellas, cars, trams, and trains moved through the rain without worry despite the increasing intensity.
Cafes with caponies became a popular spot to hide from the rain by people with no umbrellas or raincoats.
"..."
One such person is Aerina.
(Ugh, my clothes are all wet...What do I do?)
The water that gathers on the ground became a small puddle for people to step on causing small splash of water to appear here and there, the city's storm drain barely keeps up with the intensity of the rain.
"....Cold" she said softly feeling the cold wind blew at her.
"...?....Oh, hey, Ms.Aerina?"
"Hm?"
"....."
"...I'm sorry, who are you?"
"....Oh, right, I was wearing a hood when we first met, one moment", the figure then pulls out a hood and placed it on their head.
"....! Oh, it's you"
"Yeah, that's me"
"...Ah! Are you looking for a shelter? Here, you can join me" she moved a bit to show the space to the hooded person who thanked her before joining under the canopy.
"I forgot to check the weather today so I didn't bring an umbrella"
"Don't worry, me too"
"Oh, that's bad, you look cold"
"Ah, haha, it was my fault, I wasn't careful enough"
"That's too bad", the hooded person took out a wand and pointed at her.
Spell: Hot Air
A warm dry air blows at her quickly warming her up and drying her clothes.
"?! Ah, thank you"
"No problem"
"So, you're a magician?"
"Yeah, but an Intermediate though"
"That's alright, I actually thought you were a great mage just now"
"....Was that a pun?", noticing her choice of words, the hooded person asked.
"Yes...Do you....like it?"
"Yes, I think you were great at it"
"...Hehe, you think so?"
"Yes"
The two chuckle at the silly pun for a moment before looking out into the rain.
"So, how did you get here? Out to the supermarket?"
"No, I'm heading back home actually"
"Oh, that's a shame. Is it far?"
"Not really, I just have to take the train at the station over there"
"It seems so close yet so far"
"True, but what about you?"
"Just looking around, then it rains and so I look for a shelter, and found you"
'found you' two words made her heart pound for some reason.
"Well, I'm glad to have found you too"
"Even though you don't recognize me?"
"Uh...well, that's because you didn't have your hood on"
"Oof, I thought we knew each other well enough though"
"Ahhh...I'm sorry"
"No, just kidding, no worries"
"...You're mean"
"...I guess so"
"...Welp, this sucks," said Hooded Person.
"Guess, I'll just run to the station"
"What? Don't do that!" shouting over the rain the Hooded person said to Aerina as more people came to hide under the canopy, those being with raincoats.
"But I want to get home before it gets worse!"
"Don't jinx it!"
"I'm sorry!"
(Argh, how annoying) thinking about the rain, the Hooded Person took out something round and heavy attached to a handle.
A big and heavy wand.
"...."
Looking at the sky, the wand began to light up as mana gathered in the orb.
Spell: Clear the Sky
A light orb in the mana orb seeps out and hovers above it, then zooms out from the canopy and towards the sky, its light blanketed by the rain as it heads towards the clouds.
The rain clouds that covers the city continue raining on as usual, but a seep of light appeared from the clouds landing on the ground, the small circle of light then slowly expands growing wider and wider covering more ground.
"Ah, well, I got to get going, now's my chance" the Hooded Person then left the canopy as onlookers looked up at the sky in amazement.
"See you around"
"Ah? Right, see you around" replied Aerina as she watch the Hooded Figure heads off into the onlooking crowd.
Aerina stares at the disappearing figure for a while, then towards the crowd of people looking in amazement at the sunny sky above.
(Maybe....he(?)'s really a Great Magician after all)
