Thinking back on it now, It all started quite calmly.

One day, the sky cracked.
*Crack*
In less than an hour later, it was all over the internet. And by the end of the day.
"Reports of 'cracks' in the skies are coming in from all our sources world wide".
What is the cause of this phenomenon. Natural or man-made?
Where did this occurrence originate from?
And what does this mean for humanity in general?
These were some of the questions that were asked during the early stages of the 'Sky crack' phenomenon.
"We have invited genius scientist dr.Albert Roswell to give us answers to some of our questions".
But even Earth's smartest researchers were unable to find out anything about this phenomenon.
"We are still conducting extensive research as to the origins of this occurrence but we have not yet been able to pin it's source or nature".
The people were not going to settle with having no information at all about the phenomenon.
"Dr.roswell, have we at least been able to identify the sort of threat this may pose to humankind and if so what are our solutions".
"Ah, yes. To whom it may concern, I am confident when I say that research has proven that the phenomenon, at least the way it is now, poses no threat whatsoever to humankind. But that is all we have been able to determine though".
Several other scientists were interviewed world wide and none were able to determine the origins of this phenomenon.
Days rolled into weeks and those weeks became a month.
The crack in the sky was getting larger and the researchers all over the world were still saying the same thing.
"We have not yet been able to determine the cause of the phenomenon but rest assured we are still actively working around the clock to obtain answers".
That was a lie. Most of the researchers had already given up on the phenomenon all together complaining that the occurrence was so sudden and they were unable to secure any leads. Which was natural as they were still trying to understand the thing scientifically. They had no idea of the terrible calamity humankind was about to face.

It's already been one year since the phenomenon started and there were still no answers in regard to the origins of the 'sky crack' phenomenon. By now there was already a huge hole. The hole was big enough that it could be seen from anywhere in the world.
It coordinates;14.5994° S, 28.6731° W.
It was located directly above the Atlantic ocean, but the hole itself was so large it reached quite deeply into the air spaces of Africa, North America and South America.
A truly flabbergasting distance.
But what was even more crazy were the reports of 'monster sightings' that were beginning to trend.
"Once again, we have received several more reports of sighting unidentified living creatures as you can see here on the screen".
What showed on the screen was a blurred picture of a creature that had non human features.
"Where are these creatures coming from, the crack or have they been inhabitting out planet from the beginning".
The answer was yes, but then they didn't know.....that the apocalypse had already begun.
It has been exactly one year and four months since the 'sky crack' phenomenom started and by now the situation had already graduated into something no one would have been able to foresee.
The hole, no it couldn't be called a hole anymore since it had long graduated to the point where it covered the entire atmosphere. All the countries and states were now directly under the hole and the blue sky had now turned a crimson red colour whiched blocked out rays of the sun, moon and even the stars from reaching the Earth's surface.
Full fledged monsters had started spawning out of the sky wreaking havoc and destruction on human civilization. Governments all around the world deployed their military in hopes of somehow neutralizing the threat of the monsters but it was futile. A single giant possessed enough power to easily wipe out an entire county's army, imagine the havoc an entire horde of these giants could wreak.
Several weaker countries were easily wiped out on the first day and within the span of a single month human civilization had retreated underground.
My name is Kim Carter. With Carter being my surname. Saying my surname after my first name, a habit I picked up on after staying in Korea for the entirety of my childhood. A twenty one year old college student and virgin with mixed blood. My dad is American while my mom was Korean and according to her I was born in America but raised by her in Korea. The school was on break and I decided to come visit my dad in America but somehow I am now in one of the underground facilities far away from home, all the way in Europe, Since America had by now completely fallen to the apocalypse and had most of its citizens who survived evacuated to the underground facilities in other countries.
The underground facilities are like emergency rooms about 40m below the Earth's surface and each one could house about 50,000 people. Before the apocalypse there was no news of such structures even existing but all of a sudden we were told that they were built in case of emergencies like this one and even food was food was made available.
So they forsaw the whole thing?!
Unlikely.
I was in a corner of the large room facing down at my phone and surfing the internet. Unexpectedly, the internet was still going strong even in this situation.
I was looking at posts made by people experiencing the apocalypse all over the world and was scrolling upwrds until I saw a certain post.

Don't be afraid guys, this is just like what happens in your classic apocalypse genre novel.
The world ends and monsters start spawning everywhere killing countless people until of course 'they' arrive.

It was a common cliche used in most web novels. Any web novel novel reader and most Koreans would understand who he meant by 'they'.
He was obviously referring to the humans who would awake special powers, fight off the monsters, end the apocalypse and save the world.
I chuckled.
It was a foolish hope, but even I couldn't help but believing in that foolish hope.
perhaps this post was what gave some people a reason to live another day in a ruined world like this one. Rest assured this sort of thing was what people needed right now.
I looked at the time it was posted as well as who posted it

And that was his last post. It was highly likely that this person was already dead.
I kept on scrolling until a certain noise was heard.

sparks appeared in the air and a creature emerged.
The creature that emerged was in the form of a human boy who looked no older than 10.
The creatures featured supported the claim that it was just 10 years old, well all except it's eyes.
The eyes of the creature that looked like it contained countless stars and planets radiated a deep wisdom that proved the earlier claim wrong.
The creature was floating in the air it's legs crossed in a sitting posture as it gazed at us with those otherworldly eyes that seemed to enchant us all.
The creature opened it's mouth and just as it was about to speak a soldier interrupted it.
"Hold it right there, monster".
He pointed his gun at the creature. Soon afterwards several others joined him all with guns locked on to the creature.
The creature didn't like this, not a single bit as it clicked it's tongue and stretched out it's right arm.
There was a deafening silence until....
*Tsuuuuuucht*
sparks flew and a loud scream was heard.
"aaaaaaaaaaah!!"
Their bodies began to expand, it expanded more and more to a horrific size leaving the victims in anguish for some time before they exploded.
*splat*
It rained blood. The blood of the men who were unfortunate enough to become the creatures first victims, and there was. a chance that they weren't it's last.
Cold sweat ran down my face and dropped to the floor, interrupting the silence. And as if that was some sort of wake up call, the other people regained their senses and someone shouted
"R-run!!!".
The entire place immediately became hectic as over 50,000 people began running frantically in search of a way to escape. I myself still stood, paralysed, before the creature opened it's mouth
"Run to where exactly".
The creature finally spoke. And almost immediately afterwards all the franticness and panic died down. It was a voice that was warm and enchanting but I couldn't help but feel a little mischief hidden within it.
"Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is 'representative #@%&'".
'Huh?!'
"Ooh pardon me, I forgot that this was the 75,647th Earth and that your
Quinn a name truly befitting of a creature like the one in front of me.
I gathered all the courage I could muster and said
"Why are you here!"
It came out louder and more rude than I intended, some people turned back but when the creature shifted his gaze to me, my heart dropped and I immediately regretted talking.
'Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit. Why did I talk. Am I gonna be killed?!'
I thought and the creatures next reply truly shocked me
"Good question". It said."I think it's time I stopped beating around the bush!"
The entire hall was silent once again. We didn't know what it was about to say but one thing was for certain, whatever it had to say now was going to be crucial.
It opened it's mouth.
"I am actually here to propose....a job change of sorts".
"?!"
"A j-job change?!" A random man spat.
"That's right".
The creature stretched out it's arm again and all the people in the front flinched and stepped backwards, which was natural after seeing what happened to those unfortunate soldiers.
But instead of a tragedy a holographic like panel appeared. And what was displayed on this panel

"Your planet has been ravaged by beasts and is far beyond the point of saving. And if left to progress the way you will all die.
I shuddered

He sounded like your typical Advertising agent trying to get people to buy a product, all impressions of the elegant creature he once was had totally disappeared.
I watched as the expressions of the people's faces practically lit up before my line of vision drifted toward something on my device
"?!"
It was a video of the exact same creature saying the exact same words to people in the other underground facilities and before I could even react
"H-how?!"
someone yelled before showing the screen of his smartphone to others and they were shocked.
"What is the meaning of this?!"
The creature smiled before saying
"Come now, you can't be that conceited".
he snapped his fingers and a small panel appeared

"Like I said, this is a special event so it's first come first served".
The number on the panel started increasing rapidly
"The activation code is 'Transmigrate'. Better act quickly".

In less than half a minute later the number on the panel had already gone beyond a thousand and then
"T-transmigrate!" Someone shouted and then a golden light enveloped him and he was gone. More people followed soon after him and in a matter of seconds, half of the entire hall had left.
It was strange.
The way that they abandoned their home planet so quickly.
"Only a ten thousand slots left!"
"shit! Transmigrate!!"
"Only a thousand slots left".
More and people disappeared, none even thinking of what would happen to the earth when they left.
" Only a hundred slots left".
I wasn't about to play the hero, but I couldn't leave without at least leaving a parting gift so..
