In the early morning, as the sun began to rise, Sasuke found himself already awake, and he slowly sat up from his bed, stretching and yawning as he got ready for the day ahead. Last night, he hadn't trained, and upon returning home, exhaustion had taken over, leading him to fall asleep immediately. Now, he was dressed but had yet to freshen up when a familiar face appeared at his window.
"Did you just wake up, Sasuke?" Naruto's voice called out.
Hearing Naruto's voice, Sasuke was momentarily taken aback before recognizing his friend. "Naruto!" he replied, still a bit puzzled about Naruto's unexpected visit.
"What did you come to see me for?" Sasuke asked, curious about Naruto's sudden appearance.
The two young ninjas faced each other across the wall, exchanging glances. Naruto looked frustrated, and Sasuke couldn't quite fathom the reason behind his friend's distress.
"Don't you know what day it is?" Naruto's question caught Sasuke off guard.
For a moment, Sasuke was stunned, trying to recall if there was a mission scheduled for the day. "Is there a mission today? I don't know! Didn't Mr. Kakashi say that there will be no missions in the near future!" he replied, puzzled.
"No, no, not a mission," Naruto clarified. "Today is the day of your battle with Hyuga Neji! Have you forgotten?"
Sasuke's forehead creased in realization. Of course, he couldn't forget about the upcoming battle; the system had been reminding him every day. But now, even Naruto was aware of the event.
Motivated by Naruto's reminder, Sasuke quickly finished washing up and tidying himself before following Naruto towards the Konoha Arena. Along the way, Naruto kept on talking and nagging, but Sasuke finally grasped the significance of this fight. The upcoming battle between him and Hyuga Neji had sparked immense excitement throughout Konoha. As two blood successors of prominent families, they were highly respected and renowned in the ninja world.
The anticipation for this showdown had gathered a massive audience, not just among the Genin but also among the higher-ranked ninjas, including Jōnin and Chūnin. Even the third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, was present at the arena, overseeing the event. It seemed like the whole village was eager to witness this clash between Sharingan and Byakugan.
As Sasuke entered the arena, the roaring cheers and chants of the spectators echoed through the air. The electrifying atmosphere energized the young Uchiha, yet he couldn't help but feel slightly overwhelmed by the attention he and Hyuga Neji were receiving. Both of them were just Genin, yet the significance of this battle seemed to surpass that of typical ninja clashes.
Kakashi, Sasuke's mentor, was also present among the onlookers. He watched with a sense of pride and confidence, knowing well that his disciple possessed remarkable abilities. He had seen Sasuke defeat the powerful Zabuza during a previous mission, and he believed that Sasuke had what it took to take on Hyuga Neji.
However, what surprised Kakashi was Sasuke's unawareness of the enormous attention this fight had garnered. Guy, another Jōnin and Kakashi's long-time rival, noticed Sasuke's bewildered expression and inquired about it. Kakashi realized that Sasuke might not have been informed about the immense anticipation surrounding his battle.
As the spectators eagerly awaited the battle, they engaged in discussions about the potential outcome. Shikamaru, one of the Genin from the previous year, shared his perspective with his friends. He mentioned how Sasuke had assisted Kakashi in an A-level mission, taking down a rebellious ninja from the Mist Village. His strength and prowess had impressed many, but he acknowledged that Hyuga Neji was also a prodigy, making the outcome unpredictable.
Naruto, who overheard the conversation, was puzzled. He couldn't understand why they were saying Sasuke had merely assisted Kakashi when he was the one who had taken down the enemy on his own. Sakura intervened, urging Naruto not to reveal Sasuke's true accomplishments, as they wanted to surprise everyone with Sasuke's incredible growth during the battle.
The excitement in the arena continued to build as the clash between Sasuke and Hyuga Neji drew near. The fate of this battle and the title of the strongest Hitomijutsu Blood Successor Limit in the ninja world hung in the balance. Konoha braced itself for a spectacle that would be remembered for years to come.
