In a matter of seconds, Bai experienced a mix of shock and vulnerability as he was struck by Sasuke's Lightning Style. Collapsing to the ground, he transformed into a motionless figure, his complexion drained of color. Meanwhile, Sasuke leaped out of the flames unscathed, though his grip on the beheading sword remained firm despite a broken corner caused by the detonating talisman's explosion.
Observing Bai's unconscious state, Zabuzhan's countenance grew increasingly somber. The odds were stacked against him, as two individuals fought against him, a mere Genin from Konoha. Furthermore, the enemy had dealt with his own allies before turning their attention to him—a lifetime of shame to bear.
Gritting his teeth, Zabuzhan weighed his options. Would he be able to endure until Sasuke's Chakra was depleted? As he contemplated, Sasuke's laughter echoed, almost taunting his thoughts. "I suppose you must be wondering if I can withstand the exhaustion of my Chakra," Sasuke remarked, deducing Zabuzhan's doubts accurately. Resolving to remain silent, Sasuke focused on preparing himself as best as possible.
Sasuke understood that Zabuzhan had witnessed the lightning-fast technique he had employed previously but hadn't yet used it during their current battle. With his enhanced speed, Sasuke was confident that his Chakra would not be depleted before he could finish the fight.
"However, this time is different," Sasuke revealed, a smile playing at his lips. He had no intentions of resorting to his explosive tactics. Given his current speed, the Blizzard technique was unnecessary. Flash and fire alone would be sufficient to overcome Zabuzhan. Although there existed a slight gap compared to Blast Thunder, it was by no means negligible.
With his speed activated, Sasuke's plan did not impede his utilization of other ninjutsu. This allowed him to manifest his Lightning Style technique at the opportune moment. Gathering an impressive array of thunderbolts in his hand, Sasuke exclaimed, "Chidori!" The sound of countless birds chirping filled the air as Chidori surged forth with remarkable power. Simultaneously, the flickering lightning on Sasuke's body subsided, and his lips curled in satisfaction.
Indeed, the combination of Godspeed and Lightning Style was a formidable lethal technique. While Chidori's power was already substantial, the challenge lay in successfully striking the opponent. However, with the added super speed, it would prove exceedingly difficult for Chidori to miss its target.
"Prepare yourself! I won't kill you, sir," Sasuke warned, his voice carrying determination. At that moment, No More Chopping sensed the hair on his body standing on end, a foreboding feeling settling in. Suddenly, before he could react, Zabuzhan blinked, only to find Sasuke's lightning flashing before him. In an instant, he heard the symphony of a thousand birds resonating in his ears.
"What is this...?" Zabuzhan mused, struggling to comprehend the situation. "Kakashi's...Raikiri?" he questioned, perplexed by Sasuke's knowledge of Kakashi's ninjutsu. However, what baffled him even more was the disappearance of Sasuke before his very eyes. All he could perceive was a fleeting afterimage of lightning. As he turned to glance behind him, he realized that Sasuke was standing there, his back to Zabuzhan.
It was in that moment that Zabuzhan felt an agonizing pain pierce through his chest. Lowering his head slowly, he discovered a massive hole oozing blood, sapping away his vitality at a rapid pace. Unable to react to the pain due to Sasuke's overwhelming speed, Zabuzhan marveled at the swiftness of a mere Genin.
"Villain!" he spat, his voice laden with contempt. "The villain of Konoha!"
With a crack, No More Chopping collapsed to the ground, his breath fading away. Meanwhile, the lightning dissipating from Sasuke's body left streaks of blood on his arm, and he felt a tingling pain in his legs.
"The speed is too much for my body to handle," Sasuke remarked, acknowledging the strain. "It seems this move can only be used as a last resort and not indiscriminately." He realized the risk of being killed by his own technique if not careful. It was clear that physical conditioning and training were imperative to enhance his stamina, ensuring that speed wouldn't compromise his own life.
"Don't chop, sir..." Shiro's voice rang out, capturing Sasuke's attention. If he were to strike No More Chopping again, the outcome would be fatal. Conversely, Bai, crawling slowly on the ground, approached Zabuzhan's lifeless body. Seeing Zabuzhan lying in a pool of blood, Bai's smile widened. "Finally...you can rest, Mr. Buzhan," he murmured.
With Sasuke having departed, Bai's intentions and choices were his own. While he empathized with Bai's circumstances, the responsibility for their lives rested solely on Bai's shoulders.
