Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 Silent Cooperation

Kakashi chose not to pursue the fleeing enemy, considering it a fortunate turn of events. The two remaining ninjas, however, posed a significant threat to him. While they hadn't made any aggressive moves yet, Kakashi felt a heavy weight upon him, as if he were being observed by a lion ready to pounce. It became apparent to Kakashi that his priority was to save Sakura, who had been wounded and was losing consciousness.

Suddenly, the ninja who had captured Dazna turned around and swiftly made his way toward the forest, showing no intention of prolonging the confrontation. This act further darkened Kakashi's expression, realizing that the mission had failed with the kidnapping of their target. The difficulty of the mission had escalated to an A-level due to the involvement of this particular enemy.

Meanwhile, Naruto, though battered, quickly recovered from his previous fall. Witnessing Sakura's injury, his eyes widened in shock and concern. A surge of powerful chakra radiated from Naruto's body as he glared at the person holding Sakura captive. Sensing Naruto's growing hostility, the captor released Sakura, who fell to the ground unconscious.

Kakashi, determined to rescue Sakura, attempted to use the Body Flicker Technique to reach her quickly. However, he was interrupted by a sudden whistling sound, and a peculiar shuriken passed dangerously close to his face, embedding itself forcefully into the ground. This unforeseen obstacle forced Kakashi to halt his advance.

The captor, noticing Naruto's red chakra and intense gaze, shifted their attention from Kakashi to Naruto. Seizing the opportunity, the captor flung Sakura aside and swiftly evaded Naruto's charge, knocking him back with a single kick. Kakashi, momentarily taken aback, heard Sasuke's voice urging him to take advantage of the distraction. Without hesitation, Sasuke rushed past Kakashi towards the enemy.

Confusion momentarily clouded Kakashi's mind as he questioned Sasuke's decision to confront the enemy head-on. However, understanding dawned on him as he observed Sasuke's strategic intent. A smile tugged at the corner of Kakashi's mouth, and he promptly followed suit, determined to reach the enemy before Sasuke did.

Kakashi's attempts to attack were met with powerful resistance. The enemy's strength and rigidity were unparalleled, akin to solid steel. Dodging the counterattacks, Kakashi took a step back, preparing to engage the foe once more. In that instant, Sasuke leaped into the air, holding a kunai, and aimed for Kakashi's forehead.

However, the enemy's eyes glimmered with a cold light, and a concealed weapon shot forth from their palm, piercing Sasuke's body. Witnessing this heartbreaking sight, Naruto's pupils constricted in shock and horror.

Unbeknownst to them, Sasuke's body transformed into lightning mid-air, hurtling towards the enemy. The opponent became momentarily paralyzed under the effects of Sasuke's lightning jutsu, albeit briefly. Seizing this opportunity, Kakashi readied his Raikiri, a high-level lightning technique, to strike the enemy's heart with a swift, decisive blow.

Yet, just before the final blow landed, the enemy managed to slightly shift their body. The clash of thunder and lightning reverberated through the air, leaving Kakashi with a grim expression. The opponent had evaded the fatal strike, leaving them with only minor injuries. The strange defense on the enemy's chest perplexed Kakashi, wondering how it could withstand the force of his Raikiri.

In the meantime, Sasuke guided Naruto, who had regained his composure, to Sakura's side. They found her in a critical condition, blood gushing from the

wound in her abdomen. Naruto instinctively reached for the kunai to remove it, but Sasuke stopped him, cautioning against worsening Sakura's condition. Naruto, uncertain, obeyed Sasuke's advice.

Sasuke and Kakashi locked eyes, and Sasuke urged Kakashi to take Sakura away while he confronted the enemy. Kakashi understood Sasuke's plan and nodded in agreement. Determined to save Sakura, Kakashi swiftly carried her, intending to find medical help. He left Sasuke to face the formidable enemy alone, acknowledging the trust placed in him by his young comrade.
