Chapter 9 - Chapter 9-Alexis

After I sent Sophie down, Vicky insisted on going with her and I knew for a fact that she was going to cause problems. Earlier that day, she was the one that insisted on dinner so she could meet Kasey. I knew it was a bad idea but I also wanted to see her.

I moved around the kitchen as Oliver helped with setting the table and moving the food to the dining table. I hadn't gotten much time to dress up after I took a shower so I was still in a dress, one I usually wore on laundry day and I knew I had to change before they made it up there.

It wasn't just about Kasey anymore. Her sister would be there too so I had to have some sort of impression on her. I was going to be co-parenting with her sister after all. Once everything was set on the table, I rushed to my room to change and I opted for a black maxi dress. The tight fitting kind because if anything, so far the pregnancy was generous with my breasts.

I applied some gloss and decided not to do any make up. I let my hair loose from the pony tail it was in and I brushed the curls out a bit. I applied some mascara and decided I was good to go. By the time I stepped out of my room, I saw that they had returned with our guests.

Kasey and her sister were sat on one of the double couches. Kasey's sister was conversing with Sophie while Kasey sat there, awkwardly tapping her foot against the carpet. I decided to let my presence be known and welcomed them. "Good evening." I said putting on my best smile.

Kasey stood up, immediately, pulling her sister up with her. "Hi." She said. I made my way to her and gave her a hug. I freaking missed her. I breathed in her scent and smiled while my face was buried into her neck. I pulled back after a while and turned to her sister. "Kai this is Alexis. Alexis, Kai." She awkwardly introduced us and I smiled at her as I shook her hand.

"I think I'm gay." Her sister said with a very sweet voice, holding on to my hand much longer than necessary. "Okay." Kasey said pulling her hand from mine. "Sorry about her." Kasey said, glaring at her sister's profile and then smiling at me. "Look at all these hot people. Where the hell have you all been. I would've had my gay awakening way sooner." Her sister carried on.

Okaaay??? "Please have a seat at the table." I awkwardly pointed to the table and her sister left but she hung back. "What's up?" I asked her. "Nothing. You're just beautiful." She said, looking down at me. "Babe, your girlfriend bought us some expensive champagne." Sophie screamed from the kitchen and the pop of the cork came soon after.

"I have super uncivilized friends. Just a heads up." I warned Kasey and she smiled nodding. "Can I ask you something?" Kasey asked, slightly confused. "You just did but sure." I replied. "Right. Uhm. Is Sophie with Vicky? Or does she just call everyone babe?" She asked and I laughed a little.

"Yes to both. They are married but Sophie is just an endearment type of person she calls everyone and everything babe or sweetie. You'll get used to it." I informed her and she nodded. "I'm assuming your sister is straight?" I asked her and she shrugged. "Both of my sisters decided on no labels but honestly I've only ever seen Kai with men." She responded as if she too was confused.

"Wait. If Vicky and Sophie are married, why did Vicky start flirting with Kai right in front of Sophie?" She asked as we settled next to each other at the table. "Because my wife and I are what you might consider poly? Alexis would know, she has been in our bed multiple times." Vicky said, smirking at Kasey. Well, shit.

"Babe, cool it." Sophie warned and I saw Kasey shift uncomfortably. "Uhm oh, okay." She said, looking away. "It was once. And it wasn't for me. We were drunk." I quickly explained. "Once? Sure if that's what you consider multiple times." Vicky threw back and scoffed, casually taking a sip of the champagne I so wish she choked on.

Kasey made eye contact with her sister, uncomfortably as if asking for a way out of the conversation. "Sorry." I whispered so only she could hear it. "Cool." She whispered back. "Can we eat now? Papa Oliver is hungry." Oliver spoke up, breaking the tension and Vicky rolled her eyes at him referring to himself as that.

"Please." I mumbled. Everyone dished up and started eating with a few conversations here and there. "What do you do for a living, Kasey?" Vicky asked out of nowhere. The fuck was she being spiteful for? "I work at my family's investment company." She answered. Okay I guess the question kinda helped because I had no clue what she did either.

"Oh. Typical rich kid then? Never did anything for yourself. Mommy and daddy were always there to provide on a silver platter." Vicky added. Okay, what the fuck was her problem? Everyone seemed to stop eating and looked at Vicky. "Excuse me?" Kasey said, halting her movement as well.

"Babe." Sophie said, placing her hand on her wife's shoulder. Even I was speechless. "I worked hard for the position I'm in today." Kasey argued. "Is that what makes you think you can have one drunken night full of mistakes, and then ignore your victim for two months? Because you can simply sweep it under the mat?" Vicky asked, pointing her fork at Kasey.

"What the fuck is with you today, Victoria?" I stepped in. "I am asking because I want to know." She simply said. "You don't have to be a fucking bitch about it. Is that why you suggested this dinner?" I shot back. "I thought you did this for me. Because I needed this. Because you wanted to get along with her. I am going to be co-parenting with her for fucks sake. Is this how you'll act towards her?" I asked and her eyes softened a bit.

"I'm looking out for you." She said. "I am an adult. I appreciate that you do these things out of love but tone it the fuck down." I told her. "Okay. Sorry." She mumbled, raising her hands in surrender. "I think we should leave." Kasey said, placing her napkin on the table and getting up. "Kasey." I called as I stood up when she pulled her sister with her.

"I'll see you at your doctor's appointment. You can text me once you've booked a date." She said, still walking away. She shut the door behind her as they walked out. I was so overwhelmed when everything happened. "Thank you, Victoria." I said my back to them as I left then to go to my room. As soon as I flung myself onto the bed I began crying.

Stupid Victoria. Stupid hormones. Stupid feelings. I kept saying that in my head as I sobbed after the failed dinner. I heard a soft knock on my door before it was opened. "Hey babe." Sophie said from behind me walking towards the bed and sitting right next to me.

I sat up and welcomed her embrace, crying onto her shoulder.
