Jake's fingers brushed against Qiu'er's hand, and a soft, radiant glow emanated from her touch. Simultaneously, the entire world around them seemed to ripple and distort like a reflection on water, but this surreal effect only endured for a fleeting moment before everything returned to normal.
Qiu'er staggered, teetering as if about to fall, but Jake swiftly caught her. She closed her eyes, her expression twisted as if trapped in a nightmare.
Worried, Jake gently tapped her cheek and spoke softly, "Qiu'er, are you alright? It's me, Jake."
Qiu'er slowly opened her eyes and regarded Jake with a furrowed brow. She took in her unfamiliar surroundings, straightened her posture, and fell deep into thought.
"I was out hunting with other students from Beryl Academy, and now I wake up beside a different Beryl Academy student. Say, do you perhaps know anything about myself?" Qiu'er inquired.
