Chapter 2 - [ Two ]

Sitting on the bed, Cashmere is waiting for her 'husband' because that is what she's supposed to do. However, it's been an hour and a half but he is still nowhere to be seen. Cashmere is not bothered by what's happening.

She's not anxious nor displeased but glad that he is not showing his face. Cashmere might not control herself in slitting her husband's throat if he did try to force himself onto a child.

It's past eleven and when Cashmere is sure that her husband is not gonna spend his night with her, she took off her veil and her wedding dress. She changed her clothes to a nightgown.

Cashmere saw one when she opened the wardrobe. She sat in the chair and started eating the food that is served to 'them'.

Of course, Cashmere did not touch the wine. She's perfectly sure there's an aphrodisiac in them. After eating, she's feeling sleepy and tired. Cashmere dragged herself to the bed and slept peacefully the entire night.

The next morning, a knock woke Cashmere up. Noticing the sun is up, she groans because she's still feeling sleepy.

"Madam, it's time to get up. Today, the concubines are about to pay respect to the Wife and the General"

A maid entered the room and woke her up. They dragged her to sit down and they started to fix her makeup.

After a few minutes, they then started to take off her clothes and change them to new ones Cashmere raised an eyebrow when she saw her lilac dress.

'Nice choice of color'

She may be skinny and malnourished but she's still a beauty. Cashmere's beauty was highlighted by her lilac dress and with her light make up and her cat-like ocean eyes are captivating.

After putting on a headdresses, the maids escorted her to the main hall where the concubines and the general are waiting for her.

Arkin Belphegor is known as the Empire's War General. He came from a lineage that produces outstanding generals in the Empire's history. Arkin is a lazy person despite being an outstanding soldier.

The proof? He accepted concubines. He let their fathers 'threaten' him in accepting them. Arkin's secretary is full of grievances because of this matter. He's just so lazy to pay attention to any of them so he let them be.

He didn't appoint anyone as his wife because none of them deserve it. However, the Emperor forced him to take a wife and that bastard of a Minister gave him a child bride which he can't tolerate. Arkin is not a beast to blame an innocent child but if that 'wife' of him is like her father, he won't hesitate to abandon her.

Arkin hoped that his wife won't cross the line and would just act obediently. If she's docile and obedient, he won't mind protecting that child knowing she's treated badly by his father and will let her live her life with contentment.

When Cashmere entered the room, Arkin squinted his eyes. His wife was way different from what he imagined and investigated. She don't look timid and cowardly. She's indeed malnourished but the glows in her eyes spell mischief and boredom at the same time.

Her lilac dress suits her well. She walked with confidence and class. She's quite pleasing in the eyes. Arkin is looking at Cashmere with undisguised interest and it did not pass the eyes of the concubines. She sat down beside Arkin and looked at her husband's face with an annoyed gaze. Cashmere then looked at concubines faces one by one.

Sensing their envy, frustrations, disgusts and killing intent, she smirked and said, "They're not as beautiful as I imagined"
