Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: A New Adventure

A.N.: (I know some were against him going to Norway now, but I want to finish the Viking stuff before the family turns because after that, they gave up on the Viking life, and he will be following the siblings for a while before breaking off. Also, I have found a way to write Lagertha into the story and make her immortal without her becoming a vampire since she does not seem like the type that would like to be one, especially since we all know she wants children of her own.)

====================================================

Two weeks later, on the shores of Norway...

(Ace POV)

After two weeks of a horrible trip at sea, I finally made it to land, and gods know how much I missed it. Getting off the boat and landing on the stony shore, I first gave myself a bit to get used to being back on land before restraining the ship so that the sea does not take it.

Finishing with the ship, I looked around, seeing that where I came ashore was surrounded by cliffs with no way to walk or get up without climbing. 'Ha, like that's going to happen.' apparating to the top of the ridge in the next second.

'It will be so good to let loose with my magic now.' I thought to myself, wondering which direction to go in.

Looking upwards, I found a crow flying overhead. Focusing my gaze on it, I silently cast a spell that allowed me to share the bird's vision, gaining me access to the surrounding area for a few miles. After searching for a bit, I found a village near me to the east. 'Hmm, looks like a fishing village.' I thought, starting to walk in that direction.

After a long walk with the crow following me from above to ensure I was going in the direction, I arrived at the entrance to the village, where two fierce men were standing guard. Walking towards them, the one on the left pointed his spear at me.

"What is your business here, outsider." the guard said harshly.

"I am just here as a stopping point on my journey. I will intrude on the village long; I must get some supplies." I replied calmly, looking the man straight in the eyes.

"What do you think we should do with him?" the guard asked, looking to the other standing at the side.

"Just let him in to get his supplies and leave; he's just one man; he can't do much."

Reaching an agreement with each other, the two guards stepped back, taking their places on each side of the entrance giving way for me to pass. "Do not cause trouble, outsider, or we will gut you." One of the guards said, trying to intimidate me. 'If only you knew, poor soul,' I thought, walking past them into the village.

After about an hour of walking throughout the village, I got most of the things I needed and was about to find somewhere to stay the night when I heard a commotion. Walking to find the source, I saw a bunch of me surrounding a makeshift arena where two men were fighting.

"Hey, what's going on here? Why are they fighting?" I asked a random bystander watching the fight. Looking back at me, he explained, "Those two are always fighting, Whether it is over who got the better kill while hunting or who got the most kills while raiding. You wouldn't believe that they are brothers.

(General POV)

The bystanders cheered for who they thought would win as the fight continued. Even some are placing wages and betting on the battle with their friends.

"Come on, Lief! Beat him!"

"Knock him out, Erik! You got this!"

The two men, now recognized as the brothers Erik and Lief, continued throwing punches and kicks at each other, trying to knock each other out. Listening to the cheers of the crowds, the two brothers could only smile while getting ready for the next attack.

"You hit like a bitch, Lief!" Erik taunted, hoping to make his brother angry.

"Tell that to the last two times I knocked your ass out, leaving you to face down in the mud!" lief retorted, Earning a scowl from his brother, who was remembering the past two painful experiences.

Charging forward, Erik threw a punch toward Lief's head but missed as Lief ducked and punched him in the gut, knocking the wind out of him.

Looking at Erik bent over, holding his stomach, Lief pushed the back of his head, forcing it down while bringing his knee up, causing them to connect, which resulted in Erik's head flying back as his world turned black, and he fell back into the mud, out cold.

"Looks like that's another win for me, brother," Lief said to the unconscious Erik while a random man from the crowd came forward and announced him the victor. Official gaining his victory, Lief took one last look at his brother before turning around and heading to the nearby ale house.

As Lief was about to drink his first cup of ale, a voice sounded beside him, "So what was the fight about?". Turning to the source of the voice, Lief saw a well-built man about his age with dirty blonde hair and light blue eyes. "It was nothing; he wanted revenge for the last two times I won over him."

(Ace POV)

Ace observed the man beside him, about 6'0, with brown hair tied in braids with brown eyes to match. "I feel that you two probably fight too much if it's just keeping score at this point."

Laughing at his statement, Lief took a sip of his ale. "You are probably right, but there's nothing else to do in this boring village," he said, sighing.

"Well, I'm about to set off on an adventure of both fun and bloodshed across Norway, and I could use talents like you and your brother tagging along with me for the journey." Hearing what I said, he turned to look at me, giving me a curious look as if trying to see if I was joking.

"And why would my brother and I join a stranger we have never met on his journey across the lands?" he asked, drinking his beer.

"Because it would be fun, think about it, you get to journey to lands you have never seen and challenge foes that would make you a legend among our fellow Vikings. Most importantly, my adventure doesn't end here, and if I find you brothers worthy of tagging along with me after that, I promise that I could make your names be resounded throughout the ages." I said, looking straight into his eyes to convey the seriousness of my words.

"How can you prove what you say is true?" he asked with a slight tremble.

I pointed a finger at his mug, causing it to float, and looked back at him. I said, "Because I have power beyond your understanding, and this era is but a stepping stone for me on my way to being king" After my words, I lifted my hand, and suddenly thunder was heard roaring from the sky, lightning flashing and winds blowing that caused the alehouse to shake. "So make your choice Lief whether you shall join me and bask in glory or stay here to be forgotten once you die."
