The company of four, which was: Raz, Shinsusa, Reina, and Lanna, sat at the dining table. Raz sat between Shinsusa and Reina, and Lanna sat across the table from Raz. After some brief greetings, Lanna directed his attention towards Raz.
"Raz… You may tell others this, or you may not; it's your choice."
Raz's gears began turning. What could Lanna be about to say that would warrant such a statement?
"I could have simply written a letter but considering the severity of the matter, I found it to be inappropriate."
Lanna studied Raz's expression which spelt confusion clear as day.
"About a fortnight prior, some raiders from Ertistan somehow managed to reach Roboro. While the guards fought them off and managed to keep them outside of the town, they were able to pillage some of the surrounding areas."
Raz became lightheaded. His jaw dropped, and his right leg began jumping up and down. His anxiety peaked as he waited for the next few sentences to be uttered out of Lanna's mouth.
"One of these areas was… Raz, the raiders got into your home…"
Raz's leg stopped moving, his anxiety morphed into horror, and he felt as though the contents of his stomach were trying to breach the walls of his mouth and flood outward.
"My… What… How… How are…"
"They're dead. By the time anyone got there, their bodies had already lost color. The raiders, they… They killed them without a second thought."
"No… NO!"
Raz's eyes gave birth to a waterfall of tears and his chest spasmed. He could feel his heart having bloated and wished to rip it out. His hands were shaking non-stop, and he was having trouble breathing and speaking.
Noticing Raz's condition, Reina instinctively put her arms around him and hugged him. She did not know what was happening, but she wanted Raz to know that he wasn't alone.
Lanna squinted his eyes and continued explaining what had happened.
"They stole everything that they could carry along with many of your horses. They first chopped off your father's head and then took turns violating your mother. Once they were satisfied, they then killed her."
Upon hearing the details, Raz's sadness was too great to contain and quickly morphed into anger. He felt an uncontrollable heat swell up in his chest and his eyes began to sting as an expression of utter rage took hold on his face.
"Savages… THEY'RE SAVAGES!"
The heat in his chest kept rising.
"Yes, they are. Razmuth, I promise you that they will not get away with this. The reason I am here is to not only avenge your family, but the families of the hundreds of innocents that they have destroyed. They have been acting that way for far too long; it is time we brought them to justice! Razmuth, will you take up your sword for the service of our glorious nation? Razmuth, will you take up your sword to bring the rapists and murderers of your mother and the murderers of your father and the pillagers of your home to justice? Razmuth! Will you take up your sword to fight under my banner!?"
The heat in Raz's chest had now fully taken over his entire body was emanating off of him as steam.
"YES, I WILL! I WILL KILL THEM ALL! I WILL KILL ALL THESE SAVAGES WHO CALL THEMSELVES ERTISTANI--"
Suddenly, Raz realized something. He was declaring all Ertistanis savages whilst one such "savage" had her arms around him trying to comfort him. Raz decided to fill her in on what had happened.
After hearing Raz's translation Reina looked at Shinsusa who began speaking.
"It is certainly possible. No… It is probable. The current king of Ertistan is a…" Shinsusa's entire body shuddered as words left her mouth with a great deal of hate and pain. "He's a creep, for the lack of a better term, and his soldiers are no better. For decades now, he has been eyeing the lush fields, and women, of Walindia. Though being only 19, he's a total power-hungry maniac with disgusting tendencies."
Shinsusa kept looking at her feet while speaking. After a brief silence, Reina spoke in the sweetest, most caring tone Raz had ever heard.
"If you wish to fight, dear, we'll help you. We'll always help you."
Reina ran her hand through Raz's hair who spoke again, this time with Lanna.
"I'll do it," he said. "I'll kill the bastards."
