First thing I saw as soon as I entered the building was a grand reception area, A large counter with the guilds emblem was at the center of it all and behind it were a row of computers, where I assumed the receptionists worked. The rest of the room had chairs and sofas which was probably like a waiting area for the clients that came to the guild. I could use those to rest for the night at least but for now I hopped over the counter and leaped over the counter, heading to the staff area. Immediately I began to attempt using the laptops left behind by the staff but of course they were encrypted. However, I was able to get the date and time, it was 12th of July in the year 632 EM which meant I was right about the story being in its prologue stage.
That was good, it meant I had time before major threats appeared in the story. The first arc of the story was the academy arc, which was relatively safe as for the first year in the academy the worst the main character has to deal with is other students. Which was of no concern to me for the time being. Looking around the reception, I wasn't able to find anything but work supplies. Heading further back into the staff area I found what looked to be a typical office with a few workbenches, once again with encrypted laptops or non-functioning computers, except this time I was able to find a board at the back with some writing on it.
'Exterminate clacker spider nest.'
'Assist in clearing of 'Golem factory' dungeon.'
'Protect Wilhelm family convoy.'
So, violet fang was a mercenary guild and an active one, as most requests were crossed of the board and had dates corresponding to when the task was finished. The most recent one was just a week ago which is about the time they would have started evacuating. Most mercenary guilds provided benefits such as a free meal which would mean I could find some food hopefully. The rest of the room was cleared out, physical records and personal items were probably taken by the employees when they evacuated, so I decided to move on to a different room.
On my way out I noticed that on one of the desks there was a small mirror, picking it up, I got to get an actual look at my new self. I already knew that I was in a different body due to the extremely pale and thin hands, but I hadn't seen my own face yet. I had shoulder length straight dark hair with a slight green color at the ends and had one eye that was obsidian black, making it difficult to distinguish the pupil and iris which made it look eerie and one that was emerald green.
It was strange, as I was unfamiliar with this face bit it was now mine and seeing my pensive face in the reflection, I decide that now wasn't the time to think about such things and I should at least finish going through the guild building first.
After looking for some time I was able to find a storage room of some sort, with mostly empty boxes and crates but in one of the boxes I found clothing items with the guild symbol on them. While these were meant for guild members, I decided to take a few of them as the woolen cloak I wore didn't cover much of my body and was bad in cold weather. After changing, I realized that the clothes were a bit oversized for me but I didn't have many options.
Next to the empty storage room there was a large metallic door that looked like an entrance to a vault that was left open. Inside were once again mostly empty stands but I could tell what they were used to store weapons as there were many containers that had a sword shape embedded into them and empty wooden katana stands were behind opened glass displays. It looks like the guild members took the weapons to fight and they were in quite the rush as well, as there were weapon stands that had been tipped over and were now on the floor. The only weapon that hadn't been taken was laying on the floor behind a bow stand.

F-Tac combat dagger
Artificial relic

A dagger with an impossibly sharp edge and a textured grip was left behind. Most likely because it's not that valuable for a guild. For a regular person, finding a relic is impossible as they are historical weapons imbued with mana, so they are made artificially with forging techniques using mana, this type of dagger is one of the most common examples of such a relic, it would still be very expensive but for a guild especially the larger ones, they buy such weapons in bulk to supply their lower ranking members as it is an f-ranked relic.
However, acquiring one as an individual is quite difficult without signing up for a guild so I took it with me. I was stealing from the guild but in all likelihood, they wouldn't notice or care that is, if they are still alive. Moving on, after a few more minutes of searching, I was able to finally find the cafeteria and decided to look for food supplies in the back. Thankfully, it seems the guild didn't care about food enough to take it with them and I was able to find basic supplies like bread, rice, vegetables and an assortment of meat and grain. They were all stored in a device that resembled a walk-in fridge but had odd mechanisms inside, most likely to preserve the food for longer. Of course, without power the food would be spoiled soon but thankfully the back up power supply, which seemed to be powering the light and some appliances, powered this as well and all of the ingredients seemed to be fresh. I couldn't cook with them as the kitchen of the cafeteria didn't work but I was just thankful to have food. I decided to look around for containers I could keep the food in as I couldn't stay here forever. I found a few lunch boxes and prepared crude sandwiches and stored them inside, putting them inside a pocket of a bag I had found with my clothes in the storage room and headed back to the reception area. The sun had set and the time was now around 11 pm. I had spent my first day in this new world and was beginning to get tired. So I decided to have dinner and sleep on the couch in the reception with the woolen cloak as a blanket.
While I was trying to sleep, many questions came to my head like "Why am I here?" and "Why am I so desperate to survive?" but now wasn't the time. I need to get some rest because tomorrow onwards I need to begin heading towards the city border and so after some time I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
