The In-Between morphed into the halls of my high school.
Judging by the sight of the drowsy students who were half-awake and stifling their yawns, as well as the bright sunlight that passed through the glass windows of the hallway, it was yet another morning.
However, this wasn't a regular morning in high school.
Even though the majority of the students were still sleepy, some of them were giddy and buzzing with excitement.
Some were expecting secret admirers to give them roses, chocolates, or both! While some were sweating bullets early in the morning, they were unsure where to gather their courage to give their roses, chocolates, or both to the person they admired.
Death and I watched as the Evangeline of this memory, who was still a high schooler, walked across the hallway, where a large banner decorated the walls saying, "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY," as well as numerous heart-shaped helium balloons flying around and red confetti littering the floor.
