Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 The Rise of Felines

hnggggghh...

Ahh, it's nice to wake from a long, deep sleep. I stretched my arms like an adult usually would, to no avail with my stubby little arms, and gave out a yawn.

That dream... No, I wouldn't call it a dream, it just seemed all too real and confusing.

The light said that it would tell me more after it recovered, the power of God has weakened huh? Honestly, rather than breaking the curse, I'd just wish that they changed it so I don't remember anything, it'd be for the best for my sanity.

Speaking of sanity, only after I rubbed my eyes did, I notice that there were two pairs of eyes staring at me intently.

"Shhhh it's waking up."

"Maybe it's a new pet that the masters have brought home, do we have a new friend."

The brilliant green eyes belonged to two Scottish fold cats, their whiskers twitching as they talked, wait talked?

Wait the cats are talking, I understand them... Was this something related to the eyes of truth the light mentioned before? Rather than eyes of truth, it seemed to me I gained ears of truths, sounds off-putting though, or that I'm having schizophrenia and I'm hallucinating. Maybe I was high on baby powder and my mother's milk, they don't have alcohol content, do they? Mother should really cut down on the booze, she drank the entire ride home...

Seeing that I should give it a shot, I tried to speak to the cats, their tails swaying side to side as they continued to ponder what sort of creature I was.

"Hey I'm a baby, not a pet, and your masters are my parents."

All that came out to me were just gibberish, a combination of Goos and Gaas, with a mix of unintelligible sounds.

"Wait so a human baby can understand us?"

"No matter how many times we spoke to masters they only gave us chin scratches and pets, but what we really wanted was that exquisite salmon they gave us a few months ago... I can still taste it"

The White Scottish fold said as it smacked its lips, oh my gosh it's so adorable. I just want to cuddle with it and squish its furry cheeks, the moment I can move more I'm going to give those kitties the cuddling of a lifetime. Cats rule!

"Wait baby do you think you could tell masters that we want salmon? The ones that aren't hot, we want the cold salmon from the metal box."

Metal box? I guess they meant the fridge, it's cute how they talk, makes me want to grow up faster just to squeeze them till they pop. I MUST TOUCH THAT FUR.

This ability to communicate with animals is such a blessing. I looked up to the ceiling as if it were the sky, clapped my hands together, and said a prayer.

(God thank you so much for this gift I can almost forgive you, almost, just a tiny bit, but at least it's something. Thank you very much!)

Once I was done, I laid my eyes on the furballs to give them an answer.

"Of course, I will, but I can't do it yet, they don't understand me yet."

The Orange one leaned and jumped into the crib with me, giving me a lick on the cheek.

"Don't worry kiddo, we understand you just fine, we'll keep you company until our masters can finally get an education on what we felines like."

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, it's so close, I want to touch it, I must feel the fur, I must! I haven't had a pet in so long, much less a cat. Cats are the most majestic creatures, graceful and elegant. The embodiment of class and beauty. Their fur was evident of that, as the smoothness would be much like designer clothing.

The cats could practically see the burning desire in my eyes and were quite intimidated.

"Little one, you seem to what something, what would you like, we could fetch you something, it's been so long since we had someone other than ourselves to talk with, it's fun being around with you."

Yes, yes, yes, my thoughts were practically screaming at this point, I wanted to touch their soft luscious fur, that satisfaction, I MUST HAVE IT.

"Ummmm I know it may be a bit rude, but could I touch your fur?"

I gave the best cute adorable baby eyes I could and hoped for the best. Crossing imaginary fingers that were long enough to do so and praying. Praying to whom? Anyone who thought my words were worth listening to, cause God sure enough was either deaf, heard of hearing, or is just flat out ignoring me at this point.

"Sure! Why not, welcome to the family kitten."

The black Scottish fold replied and jumped in too, they started to lie beside me, exposing their bellies, inviting my hand.

With nervous hands, I stretched them and ever so slightly gave both of their furs a brush of my hand. Something in my head clicked at that instant.

It was so soft... Running my chubby little fingers through their fur felt like harvesting the softest of fluff and cotton.

"What are your names?"

"My fur is white as snow, so I'm snow, a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Snow said as she attempted to bat one of the fixtures above my cradle, a very polite cat indeed.

"Mine is Ginger, nice to meet you!"

The Orange cat had a more cheerful and playful nature it seems. Looks like these cats were the polar opposites of each other, but were still friends.

Looks like I can perfectly communicate with Snow and Ginger, their names were not creative but suitable. My parents' ability at naming things is quite poor, which makes me quite nervous as to how my name would fare compared to the usual Sam, Peter, or Mary.

"You guys have wonderful names, mine's On Tze Nam, well for simplicity just call me Leo, it's a lot easier."

"Okay, Leo."

Ginger said as he hopped in excitement, jumping back up to the ledge of the crib.

"Do you guys think you could help me? Move around the house? It's suffocating in this cage, plus it's boring."

"Sure, allow me."

I felt a sudden yank behind me and was lifted up into the air by both Ginger and Snow. We had a graceful landing, making contact with the carpeted floor.

Wow now that I had a better look angle of my room, it was huge. This room was practically the size of a bomb shelter back in the Second World War.

The room was filled to the brim with toys and plushies. To the left was an army of teddy bears, to my right a mountain of miscellaneous baby items. In the corner of my eye, I saw a walk-in closet... For baby clothes... This family was practically calling me poor in 7 different languages in my past lives.

Now the back Ginger, who was wagging his tail in enthusiasm, with excitement says,

"This kitty tour may take a while; this house is quite big after all."

How big could it possibly be? It's not like I live in a literal castle, right?
