Chapter 3 - Ten Million Dollars?

"Finally Miss Fisher, you have graced us with your presence... I was starting to think that you had bailed out on us" The sophisticated looking lady announced as I walked towards them.

She was smartly dressed in a a white turtle neck and black suit pants, her jacket hanging loosely on the black chair.

I gave her a small smile before taking my seat "of course I didn't, even though your appointment was quite impromptu, my secretary didn't want to keep you all waiting. I had to come make sure I heard you all out. Business is business after all isn't it?" I asked as I looked over to the three intimidating men who were all wearing dark shades.

"Yes it is... So let me get straight to the point. By the way, I'm Miss Emily Stephen" she said, a smirk on her lips.

I nodded affirmatively as I leaned back in my chair. By the look of the lady, she seems like a very professional lady, but why did she want to meet me so badly? What could I possibly do got her so urgently? Fashion wise I think she already looks quite good to me.

"Alright then, now I know your name. So since we're done with the introductions... Let's get to business" I noted before grabbing my notebook from my drawer and picking up my pen so I could note down the points from the meeting.

Miss Stephen nodded affirmatively before pulling out her iPod "first of all, I want to apologise for the impromptu meeting but I can't help but say I'm not sorry for disturbing you and I know you won't be sorry when you hear what I have to say. What I want to say is very important and I can't even stress this enough... I saw your profile recently and I was very intrigued. I also saw your designs on Vogue, it seemed like you dressed both the male and female models to perfection. I was more interested in the way you perfected the male designs, you were able to tell so many stories in just a single outfit. You could make a single model look like someone different each time with each suit or tux or casual wear or whatever you could... That is talent and that's the talent I... We want. I wanted someone extremely perfect and then I got to see you!"

I frowned at her praises, sure I was deeply pleased with her praises but I couldn't help but get confused. What's her point exactly? What does she want me to do and as far as I'm concerned, she's a female and a fashionable one at that so why the h*LL is she concerned with what I did with the male models in Vogue magazine? I'm lost right now.

"I'm flattered by your praises but I cant help but wonder what exactly you want me to do... Do you want me to style you in any way? Or..."

"Oh no... I don't need you to style me at all. Infact, I do need you to style someone but that definitely isn't me. I need you to style someone very important, I could have just given this to anybody or his personal stylist cause he already has one but I chose to give it to you instead. This is someone who already has an impeccable sense of fashion, someone who has won best dressed awards at events he could care less about. And he dressed himself! Very nonchalantly for that matter, but I know what you're thinking... Why would an experienced person in the fashion world want a personal stylist? Well, that is where you come in! I want you to be an exclusive personal stylist to my boss... I'm his secretary and e tasked me with finding someone. Initially, this was never his idea but his PR insisted. We are working on a very important project... Someone very close to him is launching a new fashion brand with men's clothing and she practically begged him to help publicize her fits so he hesitantly accepted. Now, we need someone experienced to style him since this new fashion brand isn't exactly his normal style..."

"I don't mean to cut you off but what is his normal style like?" I asked confused.

Mia Emily smirked at my question "his normal style is more of the serious, professional, dark and unapproachable style. But this new launch is more relaxed and approachable, we worry it might not come together with his naturally snobbish personality so we need a professional. I think you're a perfect fit since I've seen some of your works. You seem like a designer that has passion for what she does and you are the best fit. We hope you can make the impossible possible because this person is very very... Extremely important to him"

I thought about it for a moment "you mentioned something about exclusivity... How exclusive?"

"We need you to be his personal stylist for a period of one year so we can publicize the brand. By exclusive we mean you can only style him, he's a very private and busy person. You need to be available..."

"Oh please wait a minute, you expect me to hold on on my other clients for a year just to style a single person? How's that even possible? I don't even know who I'll..."

"You will get to meet him on Monday, he couldn't make it today. Look, this might sound insane but this would also be a a breakthrough for you! All you need to do is sign an exclusivity contract for one year. He's VERY important and popular, if you do a great job and he leaves a good review, your professional history would change. It would be your greatest breakthrough"

I folded my hands together as I stated at her "If I'm going to dedicate one year of my life to this 'important' client... How much am I even getting paid?"

At that, she grinned for the first time "what do you say about ten million dollars?"...
