Chapter 56 - Chapter 53: What! Demon In New Orleans.

After dropping Hope, Jojo turned his head and looked in a particular direction with a frown. He then revved up his motorcycle in that direction.

As Jojo left, leaving behind a trail of fire, two figures approached the spot, their expressions grave as they gazed at the fiery trail.

"What is he, Freya?"

Hayley inquired, still fixated on the trail left by Jojo.

There was a few seconds of silence...

"I don't know, Hayley. I've never heard of anything like this before,"

Freya replied, shaking her head in disappointment.

"Do you think he could pose a threat to Hope?"

Hayley asked, worry etching her features as she thought of her daughter.

"I don't think so. Even so, let's not rush to any conclusions,"

Freya consoled the concerned Hayley and entered the Mikaelson compound, discussing how to address this new situation.

The next day...

Jojo arrived back late after finishing his hunt and went straight to his room.

Despite the continuous ringing of the alarm, Jojo remained deeply immersed in his slumber.

After some time, around 10:30, Jojo's mobile began to ring.

Ring... ring...

Jojo was roused from his sleep by the persistent ringing.

He answered the call with a sleepy expression.

Call connected...

"Jojo, how are you? Why haven't you called me until now?"

Rosalie's voice came from the other end.

"Rose... I did text yesterday,"

Jojo responded, confusion evident in his voice.

"That doesn't mean you shouldn't call me,"

Rosalie scolded Jojo for not calling her.

After what seemed like an eternity of scolding, Rosalie eventually began to calm down.

Jojo comforted her with his gentle words.

"Hi Jojo, how are you? Did you eat? When are you coming back? How is Hope?"

While Rosa was chatting with Jojo, Alice took Rosalie's phone and fired off a series of questions.

When Jojo heard Hope's name, his eyes widened in surprise.

Call ended.

The call ended abruptly after Alice inquired about Hope.

Jojo was left stunned for a few minutes, his mind blank as he tried to process how Alice knew about Hope.

Sigh...

Jojo then realized that Alice must have had a vision of him with Hope.

She likely informed Rosalie about Hope being his other mate, which explained why she seemed so upset during the phone call.

'Is this a good thing or a bad thing?'

Jojo wondered, staring at Rosalie's name on his mobile.

Jojo moved over to the TV and turned it on.

He flipped through the news channels, hoping to catch any updates about the previous night.

However, none of the news channels seemed to be discussing it.

He went to the kitchen, grabbed a piece of bread, and made a simple breakfast.

While he was eating, sitting on the couch, the doorbell rang.

Ding... Dong...

Jojo set the plate aside and made his way to the door, still licking tomato sauce from his fingers.

"Coming." Jojo opened the door.

Hope, Hayley, and another woman with blond hair stood there.

"Oh, Hope. Mrs. Wilkerson, is there any problem?"

Jojo welcomed them with a smile.

"No, you said you would take us to see you solve one of your cases,"

Hayley replied before Hope could speak.

"This is Freya Mickelson's aunt,"

Hayley added, introducing Freya to Jojo.

After welcoming them inside, Jojo picked up his plate from the couch, stuffed the remaining bread into his mouth, and headed to the kitchen.

After tidying up, Jojo walked back to them and took a seat on the couch to initiate the conversation.

"Well, I did say I would take you guys to see the case, but I can't promise it'll be solved today,"

Jojo shook his head, indicating that the case might not be resolved right away.

This piqued Hope's interest. She knew Jojo wasn't human, but even for him, solving a case in just a few days was remarkable.

"Can you tell us about what you're investigating?"

Freya asked, intrigued.

Jojo recounted his vision of a demon recruited by an evil cult through the sacrifice of innocents.

Initially, both Hayley and Hope were skeptical, but as they observed Jojo's serious expression, they began to believe.

"How do you know they're in New Orleans?"

Freya inquired, her expression serious.

Despite being in New Orleans, they hadn't realized that danger had already arrived.

If the evil cult discovered the existence of the tribrid, they might target Hope.

"Because he was resurrected at the old church in the forest in New Orleans,"

Jojo showed a picture of the church on his mobile to Freya.

While Jojo and Freya discussed the demon, both Hayley and Hope watched them calmly, refraining from interrupting.

"What should we do first?"

Freya asked, her expression serious.

"Well, first we need to investigate the church,"

Jojo explained his plan and approach.

"Wait for a while, I'll get ready, then we can head to the church,"

Jojo excused himself and headed upstairs to prepare.

"Do you believe him?"

Hayley asked Freya after Jojo left.

"While he was talking about the demon, he never took his eyes off me. I think he's telling the truth. Plus, if what he says is true, we need to eliminate the demon before it targets Hope,"

Freya explained, her face serious.

Hearing that there might be a threat to Hope, Hayley nodded in understanding.

They hoped that the situation was unique, but there was a chance the demon might target Hope.

"You need to stay at home, okay? It might be dangerous,"

Hayley looked at Hope with a stern expression.

"No way am I letting you guys go there without me. I too want to see how Jojo kills the demon,"

Hope shook her head in denial, her anger evident at her mother's attempt to separate her from Jojo.

"Hope, we can't take you there. According to Freya, there's a chance that the demon might target you,"

Hayley tried to convince Hope, but there was no sign of Hope giving up.

At the old church...

All four of them stood before the old church, observing its desolation.

"Be careful,"

Jojo cautioned, approaching the door and pushing it open.

Inside, they found weathered furnishings and a broken cross.

The church exuded an eerie stillness, as though untouched by activity for decades.

"Are you sure this is the place?"

Hope asked, her face marked with confusion.

"It is,"

Jojo confirmed with a nod.

"But there's no sign of a human sacrifice here,"

Hope commented.

She placed her hand on one of the boulders, and, to everyone's surprise, it pressed down, revealing a hidden door leading underground, just beneath the half-broken cross.

When the door opened, a strong stench assaulted them. Gasping for fresh air to escape the foul smell, all four of them quickly exited the church.
