When Bill was about to lose his will, he found Georgie's shoe when he poked the drainage with a stick.
"Bill, let's go. If my mother finds out what we're doing, she'll kill me," Eddie said to his two friends, who just ignored him.
When Bill took the shoe in his hand, Richie walked near Bill and placed his hand on Bill's shoulder to comfort him.
When Eddie saw the shoe, he tried to convince Bill and Richie not to search further inside the tunnel, but they ignored him and were about to go further.
They heard a sound of someone falling down outside the tunnel into the water.
When they came out of the tunnel to see who it was, Richie shouted at the figure lying in the water, "Hey, it's Giant Hippo!"
"Richie, it's Ben, Ben Hanscom from our class," Eddie said, rolling his eyes.
All four of them helped Ben and left the place.
After some time...
Patrick Hocksetter, one of the members of Henry's gang, arrived at the Barrens. He was looking for Ben, who had run away.
He suspected Ben might be hiding in the tunnel, so he moved inside to capture him.
As he moved further, the tunnel started to get darker, so he used a lighter for a little light. He had a spray to ignite the lighter for fire.
When he turned at one of the turns in the tunnel and flashed the fire for light, a group of people with ugly faces and torn skin, resembling zombies, started to chase him down.
While running, one of the zombies slashed Patrick's hand toward his face, cutting off his nose.
Scared and with his pants wet from fear, Patrick moved back the same way he came in, but to his misery, the path was blocked by an iron grill.
Suddenly, the sound of the people chasing him became deathly silent.
When he turned back, a red balloon covered his sight.
When he moved the balloon, he saw a clown with red hair, half bald, and a face covered in clown makeup.
The clown looked at Patrick with a gentle smile.
Before Patrick could even sigh, the clown suddenly opened his mouth, revealing razor-sharp teeth, and ran towards him creepily at high speed.
Patrick had no time to react and, with a look of helplessness, he died on the spot.
Bill and his friends took Ben to a paramedical shop because Eddie had good knowledge of first aid.
Richie stayed with Ben while Bill and the others went to the paramedical shop. Eddie started his shopping spree in the shop.
Suddenly, Stanley noticed that they were low on money.
"We're low on money," Stanley interrupted Eddie's shopping.
"_____"
"_____"
"Eddie, you have a membership here, right?" Bill asked Eddie with assurance.
"Yeah, I do. But we can't use it; my mother will easily find out," Eddie refused the idea.
While they were arguing, Bill's attention was caught by a girl, to be precise, his crush, Beverly Marsh.
"Wh... what are you do... doing here?" Bill stuttered while looking at her without blinking.
"What are you doing here?" she asked him.
"It's not your biss..." Before Stanley could finish his sentence,
Beverly's father came and scolded her. She started to shiver and went to the bathroom in her room.
She looked at the mirror and started to cut her hair with a disgusted look on her face.
Next day...
After playing at the waterfall,
Ben informed them about his research on the history of Derry and the mysteries of missing cases.
After hearing the story of Bill's brother, he invited them to his house.
"Say no... say no..." Eddie said with a low voice.
But everyone, other than him, wanted to go to Ben's house.
When they entered Ben's room,
they saw his mad research about Derry pasted everywhere.
Ben started to explain the past history of how Derry was founded and how one day everyone mysteriously disappeared, leaving only stains of blood.
"I feel it is connected to something supernatural," Ben gave his opinion on the matter.
"Then how... will we find my brother?" Bill said with a little fear but firm determination in his eyes.
"I found this site when I was browsing about supernatural stuff on my computer," Ben went to his computer and showed them the site.
Everyone looked at the website titled "Devil May Cry."
"What is this?" Eddie asked while looking at the site.
"It's a site where we can report and complain about supernatural stuff, and they will help us solve it," Ben said while eyeing Beverly.
But Beverly was looking at Bill.
"Don't be a fool; those are cheaters who will charge us after some petty trick," Richie said, mocking Ben for believing in such sites.
Bill took a closer look at the site and started to think deeply.
'If there's a 1% chance to save my brother, I'll take it,' he immersed himself in his thoughts.
Everyone left Ben's house and went to their respective homes.
On the way to his home, Eddie passed by the Well House, an old house. Even though it was a sunny day, he felt cold.
He used his nebulizer to calm himself down, but it fell down, and the capsules scattered on the ground.
As he was picking them up, someone helped him pick up one of the capsules. When he looked up to see who it was, Eddie was stunned.
It was Patrick, who went missing yesterday, standing in front of him, looking like a zombie. Eddie was scared and stumbled into the garden of the Well House as he ran in a hurry.
When he got up from the ground and looked around, there was no Patrick. Instead, someone was standing there, holding a lot of red balloons that covered their face.
When the person slowly moved their hand, Eddie saw a clown face smiling gently but looking at him maliciously.
"Where... are... you... going... Eddie?" the clown said with a gentle voice.
"Come... join... me... you... will... be... floating," the clown said while giggling.
"Who are you?" Eddie asked, taking slow steps backward.
"Me... Pennywise. I am Pennywise," Pennywise introduced himself, bowing respectfully.
"Hohoho... Hohoho... Hohoho..." Pennywise started to laugh creepily.
Eddie started to run back towards his house without looking back.
"Wherever you go, you will come to me, Eddie," Pennywise said, showing his razor-sharp teeth.
Beverly's house...
Beverly arrived at her house. When she opened her bag, she found a greeting card. When she opened it, there were romantic poetic lines written inside.
"To Beverly,
You shine like a star in the dark,
Lighting up the world around you with your grace and strength.
Your courage inspires me, and your kindness touches my heart.
I wanted to let you know that you are truly special and deserving of all the happiness in the world.
Whenever you feel alone or scared, remember that you have friends who care about you and will always be there for you.
