Chapter 1 - ᜂᜈ: MYTH OF SIDAPA AND LIBULAN

In the archaic books of mythology, where stories were engraved into the pages of time, a tale of unusual and forbidden love emerged.

Atop the legendary summit of Mt. Madjaas, where the heavens kissed the earth. two gods of transcendental beauty lived, surpassing the boundaries of human belief. Yet, their divine love opposed the rules of an ordinary couple, for they shared not only a relationship of passion but also a profound love that surpassed the boundaries of gender.

Legend spoke of the celestial moons in the heavens above, where not one, but seven moons roamed gracefully. Each moon bore witness to the presence of a deity, bringing forth a total of seven gods. Libulan, a glorious being with a visage that imaged the moon itself, graced the lunar surface with his ethereal dances. With every twirl and glide, he commanded the moonlight, sketching the twilight sky with an enchanting art of heavenly beauty. His movements were fluid and captivating, as though he epitomized the essence of elegance itself. The celestial sisters, wreathed in a celestial dance, dancing in perfect harmony, their presence strengthening the magic that radiated from Libulan.

Unknown to Libulan, his celestial performances had burned a genuine passion within the hearts of his fellow gods. Among the Enraptured eyewitnesses, none were as trapped as Sidapa, the brooding god of Death. With an inextinguishable hunger for beauty and a soul enveloped in shadow.

Sidapa, locked in the shadows, had always walked a lonely path, haunted by the burden of his immortal existence. Yet, within the depths of his mysterious soul, a twinkle of something unfamiliar stirred-an emotion that transcended him into curiosity. It was desire, a forbidden passion that smoldered beneath the surface, threatening to consume him whole.

Sidapa, eaten by an all-consuming obsession found himself entangled in the inescapable trap of Libulan's heavenly beauty. To capture Libulan's attention, Sidapa resolved to utilize every means.

With persistent determination, Sidapa prepared a treasure trove of majestic gifts, fit for a deity of such heavenly beauty. Sidapa presented these precious offerings to Libulan, hoping to communicate the deep of his affection and the extent to which he would go to prove his unwavering devotion.

But gifts alone were not enough to satisfy Sidapa's longing. In his relentless pursuit, he asked for the forces of nature themselves, urging them to join in his grand display of affection. With a wave of his hand, the sky echoed with a symphony of love songs, as nightingales harmonized their melodic voices. Mermaids emerged from the depths of the ocean, their siren-like voices fusing enchanting melodies that carried across the world, serenading Libulan in a melody of yearning.

Sidapa, the orchestrator of desire, commanded the very earth to respond to his passionate plea. He infused the stagnant flora with his magic, persuading ahead an explosion of blossoms in an impressive exhibition. Roses, vibrant and velvety, unraveled their petals, releasing a wonderful fragrance that scented the air. Lilies, pure and ethereal, stretched their slender stems toward the heavens, their delicate presence echoing the delicate grace of Libulan himself.

But Sidapa's efforts did not stop there. He summoned a force of luminescent fireflies, their tiny bodies thumping with a magical glow. As stars plucked from the night sky, they formed a starry trail, their gentle illumination guiding Libulan's every step toward the waiting embrace of the god of Death. The ethereal glow danced upon the surface of the moon as if the very heavens themselves had worked together to pave the way for this forbidden love.

In the calm embrace of that fateful night, when the heavens and earth were bathed in the darkness of the night Sidapa found himself at the mountain of a remarkable encounter. As a celestial moon descended from the heavens, casting its gentle glow upon the land, he felt an otherworldly presence drawing near. In the tranquil silence, a figure emerged from the shadows.

It was none other than Libulan, the God of the Moon, in all his Majestic beauty. His youthful features. With an aura of irresistible charm, Libulan stood before Sidapa, his presence captivating the god of Death in ways he could never have anticipated.

As their eyes met, Sidapa's heart trembled within his chest, for he had never before beheld such a sight. Libulan's face, as if sculpted by the gods themselves, gleamed like a flawless diamond in the moonlight. But it was Libulan's eyes that held Sidapa captive, shimmering with a deep blue reminiscent of the sea. In those depths, Sidapa glimpsed the immensity of an ocean that held both mystery and genuine peace.

Intrigued and pleasantly surprised, Libulan viewed Sidapa with curiosity, with the tales of terror that his siblings had shared. The god of the Moon had approached the meeting with a suspicion, expecting a terrifying figure covered in darkness. Yet, stood a towering presence, exuding a commanding charisma and undeniable handsomeness. The unexpected allure of Sidapa stirred a sense of enchantment within Libulan, captivating his feelings and leaving him mesmerized by the god of Death's enigmatic charm.

The two gods were immersed in conversation, their smiles mirroring the joy that surrounded them. Introductions were exchanged, and their hearts filled with a deep sense of satisfaction. However, as the first rays of dawn began to peek over the horizon, illuminating the world with its golden light, Libulan knew that the time had come to rise once again, joining his celestial siblings in greeting the rising sun. A tinge of sadness sadly washed over Sidapa's face, realizing that he must bid farewell, temporarily, to his beloved Libulan.

"Libulan, where are you?" asked the goddesses, their voices filled with concern.

"I am being called. I'm sorry, Sidapa, but I must depart," Libulan responded with a touch of regret in his voice.

"Wait just a moment, Libulan. Will you return to me?" Sidapa's voice trembled with hope and longing.

"By the coming of night, Libulan assured him, his words laced with a promise.

"I will patiently await your return, my precious Libulan" Sidapa whispered, his heart filled with a mixture of yearning and devotion.

With a final smile, Libulan gracefully departed, ascending towards the heavens. His departure left Sidapa gazing

In the quiet anticipation of the approaching darkness, Sidapa stood peacefully, his heart filled with longing to catch a glimpse of Libulan. Patiently, he remained in his spot, watching the sun slowly descend beyond the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. As darkness embraced the land, the twinkling stars and constellations gradually decorated the heavens, and Sidapa's eyes lit up with joy as he once again beheld the enchanting presence of the moons.

Yet, a frightening event disrupted the calmness. A violent vibration shook the earth, causing the air to vibrate with premonition energy. Flocks of birds took flight in a frenzy, their panicked cries puncturing the air. The solid ground beneath Sidapa's feet cracked, releasing tendrils of ragged lines that spiderwebbed across the terrain. And then, a sight of frightening moment unfolded before his eyes.

From the depths of the churning ocean emerged the legendary Bakunawa, a colossal serpent. Its serpentine body coiled and crawled. The mere presence of Bakunawa seemed to elevate the rising tides, causing the sea to rise and surge in violent waves.

With a greedy hunger, the Bakunawa set its eye upon the celestial orbs that illuminated the night sky. One by one, it pushed forward, its cavernous mouth opening wide, and devoured the moons in a display of cosmic destruction. Each moon disappeared within the creature's grasp - one, two, three, four - their Mystical glow destroyed in an instant. The world tumbled into chaos as the absence of the moons cast the land into an eerie darkness.

Sidapa, wide-eyed and filled with a mixture of fear and determination, witnessed the catastrophe unfold. He understood the grim consequences if Bakunawa were to reach Libulan. With every grain of his power and haste, Sidapa sprang into action. His wings unfolded, and with a mighty leap, he soared into the heavens, ascending to the sky with powerful agility.

In a desperate race against time, Sidapa summoned every inch of his strength and courage. He erupted his divine powers, summoning winds to the monster and slowing the persistent progress of the Bakunawa. Blazing with fire, he flung latches of lightning toward the colossal creature, each strike attempting to divert its path. But the Bakunawa, a creature born of powerful forces, possessed a monstrous agility and power that seemed to resist Sidapa's every effort.

Undeterred, Sidapa persisted, determined to protect Libulan at any cost. He called upon the elements, commanding the air currents to create whirlwinds that surrounded the Bakunawa, attempting to entangle its enormous form. Yet, the creature's sinuous body twisted and deformed, slipping through the ethereal grasp.

With every passing moment, the Bakunawa drew nearer to its target. Sidapa's heart raced, his mind racing with strategies and pleas for assistance from the divine world. He unleashed a mighty roar, summoning the spirits of the celestial entities, to tell them to help him fight the monster

As the battle between Sidapa and the Bakunawa raged on, the night sky became a breathtaking spectacle. Cosmic energies collided, illuminating the heavens with vibrant bursts of colors. The very surface of the heavens seemed to tremble under the weight of their clash.

Though Sidapa fought with unmatched courage and resilience, Bakunawa's power proved overwhelming. With each passing moment.

Sidapa's voice trembled as he choked back his grief. Tears flooded down his face, mixing with the salty mist of the ocean breeze. The burden of his heartache was tangible, threatening to crush him as he clung to Libulan's lifeless form.

The moonless sky hung heavy above them, the 6 spheres destroyed by the greedy hunger of the Bakunawa. The absence of the seven moons left a void in the heavens, casting an eerie darkness over the land. Sidapa's eyes, filled with a mixture of sorrow and rage, darted back and forth, searching for any sign of hope.

As he called out to Libulan, his voice shivered with desperation. It echoed through the deserted night, carried by the wind that whispered grievous melodies. The sound of his pain shifting in the air, tinged with a desperation for a miracle

Suddenly, a flicker of celestial light pierced through the dark sky above. Bathala, the supreme god, descended from the heavens, his divine presence radiating with power and fury. His feet glowed majestically as he landed before Sidapa, his gaze fixed upon the dreadful Bakunawa.

Bathala's eyes blazed with wrath, his face distorted with holy outrage. Gripping his glowing sword tightly, he exuded an aura of authority and determination. The air crackled with tension as he took a step forward, ready to face the monstrous serpent that had devoured the gods and plunged the world into darkness.

With a resolute battle cry, Bathala attacks the Bakunawa, his sword slashing through the air like a streak of lightning. The clash of divine power grumbled across the land, shaking the very foundations of the earth. Sparks ignited where the sword met the serpent's scaly hide.

The Bakunawa trembled, its eyes widening in terror as it realized the wrath it had incurred. The primal instincts through its monstrous form, and it swiftly retreated, snaking back into the depths of the stirring sea. Bathala's victorious roar echoed across the waters, a warning to all creatures who dared challenge the might of the gods.

Amidst the aftermath of the battle, Bathala turned his gaze to Sidapa, who remained crumpled on the ground, still clutching Libulan's lifeless body. Sidapa's sorrow-filled eyes met Bathala's stern yet compassionate stare, seeking solace and understanding.

"LIBULAN, WAKE UP!" You said you would return," Sidapa's voice quivered, his plea filled with a mixture of disbelief and denial. He yearned for the impossible, wanting his beloved moon deity to defy the inevitable.

"Sidapa," Bathala spoke with gentle firmness, his voice carrying the weight of sadness. "You are the god of death. You know, and we all know, that we cannot defy death forever."

Sidapa's heart sank, his grip on Libulan's lifeless form tightening. The reality of mortality washed over him, reminding him of the delicate balance between life and death. With a heavy cry, he slowly released his grip, allowing the cold embrace of acceptance.

"But...." Sidapa's voice quivered once more, the final grains of hope clinging to his words, "Is there no way to bring back what was lost?"

Bathala's gaze softened, his divine presence offering a glimmer of comfort amidst the sorrow. He extended a hand toward Sidapa, a gesture of comfort

As Sidapa's pleas echoed through the empty land, the darkened sky suddenly began to lighten, as if touched by an unseen hand. A radiant glow stemmed from the heavens, casting a warm and ethereal light upon the scene. The air grew still, filled with magical energy.

From within the radiant glow, the Diwata appeared before Sidapa and Libulan. She was a vision of phenomenal beauty, His heart was heavy with grief, he pleaded for her assistance, his voice trembling with desperation.

"Sidapa, do your job" the diwata commanded

her voice carrying a weight of authority.

"Take their souls and cross them to the afterlife"

"I WON'T AGREE!" Sidapa exclaimed, his voice blended with resistance. He turned his gaze towards the lifeless body of Libulan, his beloved, lying on the ground.

"Diwata, help! Libulan, PLS!"

Sidapa's voice ripped down with pain, his desperation impelling him to his knees. Tears streamed down his face as he continued to beg, his words pleading for a chance to undo the irreversible.

The Goddess respected Sidapa with a mix of sympathy and curiosity. "You will do everything?" she asked, her voice softening.

"I WILL DO EVERYTHING" Sidapa affirmed, his voice barely above a whisper. His fingers quivered as he reached out to touch Libulan's cold, pale skin. The magnitude of his love overwhelmed him, his heart aching for one more moment in Libulan's presence.

"You love Libulan,", Bathala remarked, his tone tinted with understanding. "You will do anything for love"

Sidapa's arms surrounded Libulan's lifeless body, his embrace in an attempt to hold onto the fading warmth.

"I will do what you want, with conditions" Bathala declared, his voice filled with a mix of determination and desperation.

"Speak," the Goddess responded, her gaze fixed on the entreaty scene before her.

Sidapa brought a deep breath, his eyes never leaving Libulan's face. "Make Libulan drink this water" he pleaded, holding up a small bottle.

"And he will come back as a star, if the time is right he will come back to life, but he will become a mortal and will not remember me. he will forget everything"

Bathala considered Sidapa's plea for a moment, his eyes glinting with compassion. "I will let you do that"/ finally agreed, his voice carrying a touch of sadness. "After that, you are not allowed to talk to him or interact with him when he returns to the land and be a mortal, and for you, you will come with us and continue your duty in the heavens above"

Sidapa's heart rose with a mix of hope and sorrow as he accepted the Gods' conditions. The bottle was clutched tightly in his hand, and he brought it to Libulan's lips, carefully pouring the sap into Libulan's mouth.

The air was charged with a noticeable sense of magic as the water flowed through Libulan's veins. The droplets seemed to carry a mysterious energy, gently infusing his being with radiant warmth. As the warmth expanded, tiny particles of light began to flicker and dance across Libulan's skin, casting an enchanting glow upon his face.

With each passing moment, the glow intensified, transforming into a delicate cascade of sparkling stardust. The particles swirled and twirled in a mesmerizing display as if celebrating the awakening of a long-dormant enchantment. Slowly, the stardust began to rise to heaven.

Sidapa, overcome with a mixture of dread and relief, approached the ascending stardust, his heart pounding in his chest. With a voice filled with tenderness and vulnerability, he whispered Libulan's name, his words carrying the weight of a thousand unspoken promises.

"I will find you"

As Sidapa's words hung in the air, the world seemed to hold its breath. The trees, the river, and even the stars above, all became mum witnesses to this deep declaration of love.
