Chapter 8 - To the adventurer's Guild

As the new day dawned, Dylan and his classmates gathered for their combat class, anticipation coursing through their veins. Under Damian's guidance, they immersed themselves in a day filled with intense training and sparring, honing their skills in preparation for the challenges that lay ahead.

As the class drew to a close, Damian distributed letters of recommendation to each student, a tangible symbol of their progress and readiness to embark on their first missions as adventurers. With a solemn tone, he warned them of the dangers that awaited in the nearby forest, where powerful foes lurked just beyond the school's borders.

With determination in their hearts and the weight of Damian's words hanging in the air, Dylan and his classmates prepared themselves for the journey ahead. And as they left the training hall, their minds buzzing with excitement and apprehension, they knew that their adventures were only just beginning.

As Dylan entered the adventurer's guild, he was greeted by a friendly receptionist named Chrisana. With a warm smile, she welcomed him and his classmates, eager to assist them on their journey into the world of adventuring.

"Welcome to the adventurer's guild," Chrisana said, her voice cheerful and welcoming. "I'm here to help you get started on your adventures."

Taking a seat at the front desk, Chrisana began to explain the various ranks within the guild, ranging from F to S. She outlined the criteria for each rank, emphasizing the importance of skill, experience, and accomplishments in climbing the ranks and earning recognition as a top-tier adventurer.

"As you embark on your missions and explore the world around you, your actions and achievements will determine your rank within the guild," Chrisana explained, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "From completing quests to defeating powerful foes, each accomplishment will bring you one step closer to reaching the prestigious S-rank."

Dylan listened intently, absorbing every word as Chrisana elaborated on the opportunities and challenges that awaited them as members of the adventurer's guild. With each passing moment, he felt a growing sense of determination to prove himself and rise through the ranks, eager to face whatever trials lay ahead.

As Chrisana concluded her explanation, Dylan and his classmates exchanged excited glances, their minds buzzing with thoughts of the adventures that awaited them. With a newfound sense of purpose and excitement, they thanked Chrisana for her guidance and prepared to embark on their first missions as official members of the adventurer's guild. And as they stepped out into the bustling streets of the city, their hearts filled with anticipation for the journey ahead.

As Dylan ventured deeper into the forest to complete his mission of picking herbs for the guild, he found himself finishing the task much quicker than anticipated. With time to spare, he decided to explore the area further, curious about the sights and sounds of the dense woodland.

However, as he wandered further from the safety of the town, he stumbled upon a scene that chilled him to the core. In the distance, he heard the desperate screams of children, their cries echoing through the trees and sending shivers down his spine.

Racing towards the source of the commotion, Dylan's heart pounded with a mixture of fear and determination. As he emerged into a clearing, his worst fears were realized – a group of bandits had ambushed a small group of children, their faces twisted with malice as they dragged their captives away.

As Dylan faced the overwhelming threat of the bandits, his heart pounded with fear and desperation. Despite his best efforts, he found himself outmatched and gravely injured, his strength waning with each passing moment. With one of the children held captive by the bandit leader, Dylan felt a sense of despair wash over him as he struggled to stand his ground.

But just as all hope seemed lost, a sudden presence materialized before him – a young man with blond hair and gleaming white armor, his presence radiating strength and determination. With effortless grace, he dispatched the bandits with swift and decisive strikes, his movements fluid and precise.

Introducing himself as Jaune Arc, a senior student of Magia Academy, the mysterious newcomer approached Dylan with a reassuring smile. With a gentle hand, he helped Dylan to his feet, offering words of encouragement and support.

"You fought bravely, but it seems you're in need of assistance," Jaune said, his voice calm and reassuring. "Leave these bandits to me – I'll make sure they never harm anyone again."

With a sense of relief flooding through him, Dylan nodded gratefully, placing his trust in Jaune's capable hands. As Jaune faced off against the bandit leader, Dylan focused his energy on protecting the remaining children, ensuring their safety as Jaune unleashed his formidable skills upon their enemies.

With each strike, Jaune brought the bandits to their knees, his determination unwavering as he fought to rescue the captive child and put an end to the bandits' reign of terror once and for all. And as the dust settled and the threat was vanquished, Dylan couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude towards his newfound ally.

As they returned to town together, the children safe and sound, Dylan knew that he owed Jaune a debt of gratitude that could never be repaid. And as they parted ways, with Jaune offering words of encouragement and support, Dylan felt a newfound sense of determination burning within him – a determination to become stronger, so that he too could one day protect others as Jaune had protected him.

As they made their way back to town, Dylan couldn't help but feel a mixture of gratitude and embarrassment. Jaune had saved him and the children from certain doom, yet Dylan couldn't shake the feeling of foolishness for getting lost in the forest in the first place.

"Um, thank you," Dylan began, his voice tinged with gratitude as he walked alongside Jaune. "I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't shown up when you did."

Jaune offered him a reassuring smile, his eyes filled with understanding. "No need to thank me. It's what any decent person would do," he replied modestly. "But I have to admit, I'm curious – what were you doing out in this part of the forest alone?"

Dylan scratched the back of his head sheepishly, feeling a flush of embarrassment creeping into his cheeks. "Well, you see, I sort of... got lost," he admitted, his voice trailing off as he glanced away.

Jaune chuckled softly, shaking his head in amusement. "Ah, I see. Well, getting lost happens to the best of us," he remarked, his tone lighthearted. "But next time, maybe stick to the paths – it'll save you from any more close calls like this one."

Dylan nodded, feeling a sense of relief at Jaune's understanding. "Yeah, I'll definitely keep that in mind," he replied, grateful for the advice. "And thanks again, Jaune. I owe you one."

With a friendly pat on the shoulder, Jaune grinned. "Anytime, Dylan. Just remember – no adventurer ever truly walks alone. We're all here to watch each other's backs."

As they continued their journey back to town, Dylan couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie and gratitude towards his fellow adventurer. And as they parted ways at the outskirts of town, Dylan knew that he had gained not only a newfound ally, but also a friend who would always have his back in times of need.

As Dylan and Jaune arrived back at the adventurer's guild with the rescued children, they were met with a mixture of relief and gratitude from the guild members. The children were quickly reunited with their families, their tearful parents expressing their heartfelt thanks to Dylan and Jaune for their heroic actions.

With a sense of accomplishment, Dylan and Jaune made their way to the guildmaster's office to report their successful mission. Inside, they found the other students who had been out on missions that day, all of them eager to share their own experiences.

"Ah, Dylan, Jaune, I'm glad to see you both made it back safely," the guildmaster greeted them warmly as they entered. "And it seems you've brought back quite the tale of heroism with you."

Dylan nodded, a sense of pride swelling within him as he recounted the events of their encounter with the bandits in the forest. Jaune added his own perspective, detailing his timely arrival and valiant efforts to rescue the captives.

The guildmaster listened intently, nodding approvingly as they spoke. "Well done, both of you. Your bravery and quick thinking have undoubtedly saved lives today," he praised them. "I'll make sure to file a detailed report of your actions with the guild."

With their mission successfully completed and their deeds recognized, Dylan and Jaune exchanged satisfied smiles. As they left the guildmaster's office, they were met with applause and cheers from the other adventurers, their spirits buoyed by the sense of camaraderie and support that surrounded them.

After that whole event both Dylan and his other classmates along with Jaune went on their separate ways Dylan went home and collapse in his bed.
