Chereads / Touhou: Fate of External Boundaries / Chapter 3 - 【Chapter 3】The red and white miko.

Chapter 3 - 【Chapter 3】The red and white miko.

After finding out that the border of the Great Hakurei Barrier is being protected by an oddly strong maiden that lived in the temple, the mysterious being that's been using my body had no other choice than starting a fight.

The shrine maiden sighed deeply and stood there waiting for my first move.

"What are you after? My donations box? If that's the case, am not gonna share my huuuuge amount of money with you." She complained.

There was no response.

-…

"If you are not going to talk, I guess I'll have to kick you out of here the hard way…" Exclaimed the shrine maiden.

She grabbed some ofuda amulets and attacked directly at me. When she thought it was over just like that, I dodged the ofuda with an unbelievable speed. It was almost as if I vanished in the blinking of an eye.

Immediately after, I teleported right in front of her and tried to knock her out with a punch.

Her reaction time was fast enough to pull out a purification rod she was carrying and block the punch.

"Y-You will have to do better than that heh… That speed of yours is something else though-…" the shrine maiden teased.

A pair of yin-yang orbs appeared behind the shrine maiden, and they started shooting homing bullets towards me.

The one controlling me didn't see that coming and it pushed us away from the shrine maiden with a big explosion. There was smoke everywhere.

"Phew, that was close." Said the shrine maiden.

"You have some guts to come here in the middle of the night just to steal from my donations box…"

"Ugh, anyways, you better leave now before I decide to exterminate you. Although… am not sure if you are human or not. So, surrender now and I'll-"

From the smoke, a chain with a sharp and pointy piece was shot and almost pierced the shrine maiden's face. Its speed was just like the one from a bullet.

She got lucky and dodged the attack. Even though she got a small cut in her face.

Through the smoke, she could only see a pair of bright purple eyes.

"…"

"So… you won't be playing by the rules…don't you? "Murmured the shrine maiden.

She got serious from all of a sudden and she had a creepy expression on her face.

"I can tell you are not from around here… That's enough reason for me to exterminate you…." said while holding tight her rod.

The being inside me was surprised by the shrine maiden.

"Oh… so this is the guardian of the Great Barrier. This is going to be fun…"

She grinned.

Everything went silent. And suddenly a strong wind came out of nowhere as the shrine maiden started casting her attack.

"Spell Card-…"

A huge blue yin-yang orb started growing above her.

"Holy Relic"

"YIN-YANG SANCTIFIER ORB!!!"

That huge orb was big enough so I couldn't escape.

It was rapidly coming towards me, and I was lying on the ground due to the explosion.

"Come on, stand up, this is just getting started!"

Said the voice.

"Just get rid of that thing in the sky."

When the giant orb was about to hit the ground. As if it was a lightning strike, in less than a second, I went through the giant yin-yang orb splitting it into two pieces.

The orb dissolved with a huge explosion.

The shrine maiden was shocked. She couldn't believe her eyes.

"This may be a bigger problem than I thought… How's this even possible-."

"I guess I'll have to do better than that. I'll try with another spell card…"

After completely destroying her Ying-Yang Orb, I was up in the air waiting for her next attack.

"Let's play by the rules…"

Said the voice.

"Just let me handle this one myself…"

I raised my arms while the voice was casting the spell card.

"Spell Card…"

"Charge Sign"

"VIOLET ECLIPSE!"

The shrine maiden couldn't finish preparing her next spell.

The sky was covered in a violet mist and a monstrous purple orb was growing above me.

It was made from pure energy and electricity.

"How's this even possible… There's no way I can stop that from crushing everything in its path." Said the shrine maiden frightened.

"Am I in presence of an ancient god or something?..."

The purple orb started moving towards the shrine maiden. It wasn't that fast, but its size was just as huge as a meteor.

That thing would completely dissolve everything in its path, leaving nothing but destruction.

She thought it was over, and as she closed her eyes, something unexpected happened.

A gap bigger than the orb appeared in the sky and absorbed the huge energy orb.

The shrine maiden opened her eyes and saw the silhouette of a lady with long blond hair and a long dress.

"Just in time, Yukari."

Said the shrine maiden in a relieved tone.

"This youkai is something else…" said the blonde woman.

Yukari looked at the mysterious being in the sky with a serious expression on her face.

"If I must take a guess… This is going to be the start of a new incident, Reimu. Don't go easy on them. This being looks oddly familiar."

The voice inside me seemed to know this blonde woman, and she was annoyed by her presence.

"…- "

"Strike her down…" said the voice with anger.

I gained energy provided by the being inside me and pounced towards the tall blonde lady at the speed of light trying to get a hit.

When I was about to hit her, the blonde lady stretched out her arm towards me and opened a mysterious gap in front of her which absorbed my body, teleporting me to another place.

The lady sighed.

Reimu sighed deeply and walked away back to her shrine while saying:

"You better help me out this time, Yukari."

The lady seemed worried about the situation.

"I'll do what I can..."

She opened another gap and disappeared.

*****

In matter of seconds, I was teleported back to Hina's house.

The gap opened just above Hina, and I landed on her bed.

The voice sounded frustrated because of the blonde woman.

"Why is she always after me...?"

"Once am out of this cave, am gonna make her pay!" She exclaimed.

The being ran out of energy, and she couldn't control me for the rest of the night.

I fell unconscious again and fell asleep.

*****

The next morning Hina woke up and the first thing she saw was her guest sleeping next to her.

"W-W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

Her face got all red and she kicked me out of her bed.

I woke up after hitting the floor.

"Ouch... WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

"Why were you sleeping in my bed?!..."

"I-"

I don't even remember if something happened last night.

"Sleep walking?" I said with a nervous smile.

"A-Anyways- We will start with your training today. Get ready and head outside, I'll be there in a few minutes, okay?"

"Sure, I'll wait for you." I said ashamedly.

I walked outside Hina's house and took a moment to look around.

"Surely this place looks odd. It seems like I traveled many years ago to the traditional Japan era."

I looked around for any buildings or streets. Or even normal people.

"Even if this is the Earth, it just seems like a different world…" I sighed.

"Also… What happened last night? I sort of recall having a dream of me fighting someone, it felt so real. But I guess it was just a dream after all."

Hina came out with a different outfit. It looked like sportswear.

She was also holding some extra clothes.

"Here, take these. I found some clothes that look just like the ones that you are wearing. I couldn't find similar shoes though, so am going to give you this pair of boots. Try them out."

"Ohhh! Thank you!"

I smiled and ran inside Hina's house to try the new clothes.

"Hopefully these will look good in him." She thought.

In a matter of seconds, I ran outside towards Hina.

"Do they look good on me?" I asked enthusiastically.

"Well, they are not so different from the ones you had. But it does look good."

"Yessssssssss!"

"The first part of our training consists in walking to the Scarlet Devil Mansion.

"How far is that place?" I asked intrigued.

"Mmm…It's not that far from here."

"Okay then!" I said decisively.

I started running while Hina was still talking.

"Wait! I said walking! Wait for me!" She yelled while pouting.

Hina sighed and went after me.

We didn't notice that someone was spying on us from a bush.
