If any of the four Overgods had attacked Han Shuo a few decades ago, he would undoubtedly have died. But Han Shuo was now a force to be reckoned with. The Hegemons of the Dominions of Death, Darkness and Destruction, as well as a former sovereign, Salas, would have to join forces just to have a chance of killing him.
"There is no escape this time, Bryan!" shouted Salas.
Having used Demonic Blood Disassembly to escape the City of Gorging Clouds only weeks before, Han Shuo is not at his best and cannot fight at his peak. As he felt the powerful auras emanating from the four overgods, Han Shuo accepted that he would have to fight a one-sided battle.
Although Han Shuo was able to activate the Demonic Blood Disassembly and escape from the Misty Sea, using that escape technique again when so little time had passed would have serious repercussions.
If Han Shuo were to use Demonic Blood Disassembly to escape from this ambush, his demonic body will suffer injuries that will take much, much longer for him to recover from. This will mean that he will not be at his best when he returns to the fringe, putting himself at a risk he cannot accept considering how treacherous Sovereigns like Tyre and Logue have been.
Han Shuo wore a dark face as he felt the four menacing auras as he racked his brain for an escape plan.
"The four of us have been preparing for this moment for a long time. Now that you are in our trap, you can forget about escaping!" the colossal figure said as he glared at Han Shuo with his green eyes. Using the energy of destruction, he formed an enormous energy field around him and used it to alter the properties of the sea water, preventing Han Shuo from escaping by diving into the ocean.
"What a shame, he could have been an excellent servant," remarked the masked Overgod sitting on a white bone throne. He slowly approached Han Shuo and the white bones that made up his throne began to glow with a milky white halo. The greyish aura of death from the surroundings began to gather towards him. The other three Overgods immediately began to move with great speed.
The four Overgods slowly closed in on Han Shuo. The energies of death, darkness, destruction and lightning slowly accumulated and flooded the Misty Sea. They unleashed their domains of divinity, leaving the region devoid of all other elements. Four violent energies began to squeeze Han Shuo from the zenith, the nadir, the front and the back.
The four of them must have discussed in detail how to trap and kill Han Shuo. They might even have practiced it beforehand. The four energies were perfectly aligned at their intersections, sealing off every inch of space that Han Shuo could escape from as they slowly converged, shrinking the area that Han Shuo could move.
Han Shuo's mind was shaken and he immediately knew that he could not allow himself to be so passive in this battle. If he allowed the four energies to converge, there would be no way for him to resist. Even if his consciousness could escape by splitting into millions of strands, his demonic body and the demonic infant would be destroyed.
Immediately after that, Han Shuo realised that he had to risk everything or he wouldn't make it out of the Misty Sea in one piece.
Han Shuo cursed in his mind and did not hesitate any longer. The energies of thousands upon thousands of demon generals suddenly poured into his demonic body, increasing the already immense power his body possessed. He was determined to fight to the death.
But this time, Han Shuo did not use the Myriad Demon Transformation and fought with the Demon Infant, even though it would give him access to vast amounts of power. Although the situations were equally dire, what he faced in the Misty Sea was different from what he faced in the Broadhurst Residence. Not only does he need to leave the Nebula as soon as possible, but he also needs to take his physical body with him.
Back in the City of Gorging Clouds, Han Shuo only had to face two Overgod forces. He knew that the Black Hole Attack used by Yarus could not harm his demonic infant.
But now, in the Misty Sea, Han Shuo would not only have to face four Overgod experts, but more importantly, he would have to fight Salas, a Lightning Energy cultivator. Lightning Energy was extremely harmful to life forms such as Demon Generals and the Demon Infant.
Lightning Energy had always been the bane of disembodied life forms. Although Han Shuo was not afraid of the lightning energy of an ordinary god, Salas was no ordinary god. Han Shuo was afraid that his demon infant would be injured by Salas' Overgod lightning energy.
Therefore, instead of using the Myriad Demon Transformation, Han Shuo transferred the Demon General Energy into his physical body, temporarily boosting his strength.
As the seemingly infinite amount of power poured into every cell of Han Shuo's body, his demeanour and even his attitude changed. He suddenly raised his head to the sky and laughed like an unstoppable maniac. Meanwhile, the seventeen flying swords emerged from his body and circled around him in bizarre trajectories. A chilling, sinister, evil aura surged as radiance erupted from the swords, leaving long trails of light behind.
An instant later, the seventeen flying swords suddenly overlapped into one, transforming into an enormous sword five meters wide and a hundred meters long made of pure sword radiance.
Deicide Slash, the second form of the Avici Godslaying Sword Formation took shape in an instant. Immediately, it went slashing at Salas who was hovering high in the sky.
The enormous sword made of pure power seemed unstoppable. It tore a hole in the field of lightning energy and viciously went after Salas.
Salas cursed in his mind, There are four of us here, why must you fucking aim it at me?!
Salas had become afraid of Han Shuo after fighting him at the Pandemonium. The fact that Salas did not immediately look for Han Shuo after recovering from his injuries was a clear sign that Salas did not have the confidence to fight Han Shuo one-on-one. So when he saw the huge sword coming towards him, he instinctively retreated.
Salas did not dare to withstand the ferocious Deicide Slash. He retreated and tried to dodge the attack. As he did so, one of the four forces converging on Han Shuo was instantly weakened.
"Salas! What the hell are you doing?! Take the attack!" the person on the white bone throne shouted angrily as he saw Salas retreat.
From his point of view, Han Shuo's power was not enough to seriously injure Salas with a single blow. He thought that as long as Salas could withstand Han Shuo's attack for a moment, the three hegemons could divert some of their power to help Salas counter the power of the Deicide Slash, and Han Shuo would still be on his way to complete destruction.
But Salas obviously did not think so. He let out a cold groan and continued to dodge the Deicide Slash.
As Salas retreated, Han Shuo began to move. The demonic blades burst from his fingers and he flew upwards at the hole in Salas' barrier.
"Oh no!" shouted the hovering dark figure as colossal as a mountain. Orbs of destruction suddenly emerged from it and shot at Han Shuo. It was as if pearly drops were raining down on Han Shuo. They came in large numbers and in dense swarms, not allowing Han Shuo to dodge them.
Han Shuo's Avatar of Destruction also knew how to create Orbs of Destruction, and he understood that they were made by coagulating the Divine Energy of Destruction. These small orbs were extremely powerful and deadly despite their size. Han Shuo's face trembled slightly as he saw those Orbs of Destruction falling on him like raindrops.
With a single thought, he sent out the Pearls of Annihilation he had produced and sent them crashing into those Orbs of Destruction. A strand of his consciousness then activated the blood essences within those Pearls of Annihilation, causing the Orbs of Destruction to explode violently.
The first wave of explosions seemed to set off a chain reaction, and the remaining Orbs of Destruction exploded. A series of long, earth-shattering, ear-splitting explosions rang out from the sky.
During the creation of the Pearls of Annihilation, Han Shuo had come up with a novel idea and added a strand of his Divine Energy of Destruction to the Pearls. The idea was to ignite his Pearls of Annihilation simultaneously with his Orbs of Destruction to create maximum firepower.
Han Shuo had wanted to test the firepower, but he had not expected to do so on the Godhunter Alliance Hegemon's Orbs of Destruction instead of his own.
When the rest of the orbs exploded, it seemed to destabilise the lightning energy barrier that Salas had set up. With that, the lightning energies began to explode as well. The noise grew from eardrum-busting to lung-collapsing.
The explosions went on for a long, long time. When it finally stopped, the thick, dense fog over the Misty Sea dissipated and the glaring sunlight managed to penetrate the atmosphere for the first time in eons.
"Salas' barrier has been destroyed! Dhaka, what the hell is wrong with you?" the person on the white bone throne shouted angrily.
"How the hell should I know!" shouted the colossal figure.
"Dhaka, so your name is Dhaka!" said Han Shuo before suddenly laughing out loud. After the mist dissipated, the blinding sunlight fell on the giant hallucination, causing it to disappear and reveal an old man.
The old man had winter-white hair and a wizened, heavily lined face, but his eyes were piercing and full of life.
After having a good laugh under the bright sun, Han Shuo's figure blurred and suddenly split into a dozen Han Shuos. They simultaneously fled in twelve directions.
After Sala's barrier was destroyed, Han Shuo was no longer trapped. He quickly flew out and made his escape without hesitation.
The four Overgods were confused when they discovered that the dozen Han Shuos were all indistinguishable from the real Han Shuo. Unable to tell which of the Han Shuos were hallucinations, they had no choice but to split up and randomly chase one of the escaping Han Shuos.
And after chasing and killing the 'Han Shuos', they found that all the remaining Han Shuos had disappeared without a trace. He had vanished from the senses of their divine souls.
