In the next instance, Han Shuo, who was hiding in the dark, suddenly felt his body being held by some kind of unique energy field. A certain swirling energy wrapped around him, making him feel like he was trapped in the most viscous mud.
It was also at this time that the little girl, drenched in blood, cast her ice-cold purple eyes at the lush tree he was hiding in.
The little girl's pretty dress looked as beautiful as red roses after being stained with fresh blood. But that was overshadowed by the chilling aura she radiated. Instead of being adorable, she appeared extremely terrifying.
Han Shuo, who had been silently observing the situation below, couldn't tell exactly what kind of energy the little girl was using, but he was certain that the energy did not belong to any of the twelve fundamental powers. Han Shuo found the girl to be extremely unique as he watched her shred two gods in an instant and even seemed to enjoy it.
"Mister, you do know that there are caterpillars crawling on the tree, right?" the little girl said in a teasing voice. Her purple eyes shone as if she could see through all the obstacles in front of her.
Han Shuo's heart sank. He knew that his position was completely exposed to the little girl. Han Shuo turned around in his mind for a moment before he forced a smile and flew down from the tree. Keeping his distance from her, he immediately explained, "I'm not with them, please don't misunderstand!"
"Not with them? Hmm... but that makes no difference, you witnessed me commit murder!" she looked at Han Shuo with an innocent pout, but her voice was colder than liquid nitrogen.
"You... intend to kill me?" Han Shuo stared blankly for a moment before asking with a slight smile.
"Well, yes. I am terribly sorry," the little girl apologised and bowed slightly to Han Shuo. She then began to float in his direction. A most bizarre energy field suddenly enveloped the space around him. This energy field was completely different from a Domain of Divinity. It didn't change the distribution or amount of elemental energy in the space, but filled it with countless vortices that were barely visible to the naked eye. These vortices contained strange energies that seemed capable of twisting and shredding anything that entered them.
Han Shuo's acute consciousness immediately detected the changes in the surrounding space as the energy field took shape. The numerous and densely packed vortexes might have been barely visible to the naked eye, but Han Shuo's wonderfully sensitive consciousness could clearly detect their exact locations and movements.
The little girl was in no way affected by the vortexes. Her body had passed through many of those vortexes unharmed as she glided towards Han Shuo. However, Han Shuo knew that those vortexes contained terrifying energy, as evidenced by how brutally the two gods had been killed.
The vortexes in the energy field began to move and spin as they closed in on Han Shuo...
Han Shuo stared calmly at the little girl who was slowly approaching him. As the area he could move in became smaller and smaller, Han Shuo suddenly turned into a shadow. He escaped from a small open area at high speed as his body stretched and shrank. By using 'Body Change' to the utmost, Han Shuo was able to break away from the ever narrowing swarm of vortexes.
Han Shuo took a deep breath and adjusted his mind to the most optimal position. He landed in the pool of blood where the little girl had previously stood and casually took the two yet-to-be-dissolved Midgods Divine Souls into the Cauldron of Myriad Demon . Then he turned to the rather astonished little girl and said coldly, "We have no quarrel. But if you attack again, I will fight you until one of us dies!"
The little girl did not expect Han Shuo to easily escape the energy field she had created and she seemed to see a mysterious veil draped over Han Shuo. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as if she was considering whether or not to attack again. A moment later, she gently nodded her head and said in a cold voice, "There is an unknown type of energy on you, one I have never seen before. We really have no quarrel with each other. You may leave!"
Han Shuo was even more shocked to hear these words, as he had not expected this little girl to be able to detect the Demonic Arts that he had been hiding. This made Han Shuo even more wary of her.
"Master, leave this little girl alone. She is much more terrifying than the one who attacked you last time!" Cauldron Spirit warned in Han Shuo's consciousness.
Although Han Shuo wore the same expression on his face, his heart was as turbulent as the sea during a storm after hearing Cauldron Spirit's words. He looked deep into the girl's eyes, nodded, and disappeared from the scene without saying a word.
""This little girl, are you sure she is more formidable than Avery?" Han Shuo asked the Cauldron Spirit. He remained astonished even after he left the place.
"Yes, I have deduced that from her life force. In addition, she has something strange inside her. It should be a so-called divine weapon in this universe. This divine weapon contains strange energy, but it is quite decent," the Cauldron Spirit explained to Han Shuo.
The Cauldron of Myriad Demon , as the ultimate weapon of the demonic arts, even though it had exhausted the millions of demon generals it possessed during its glory days, was not one to be easily impressed. If it said that the divine weapon the little girl possessed was decent, then the divine weapon was truly extraordinary.
Han Shuo became even more determined not to provoke the little girl. An expert with unfathomable strength and a divine weapon that was beyond terrifying was not someone he should mess with at this point. Especially since they were not enemies, Han Shuo felt that there was no point in making trouble for himself.
After Han Shuo's first targets were slaughtered by this little girl, Han Shuo had no choice but to look for another target.
After two days, Han Shuo found a god hunter cultivating in the energy of death with Early-stage Midgod strength. This time, Han Shuo's hunt went smoothly. Given the current strength of Han Shuo's demonic arts and the enormous range of his demon generals, there was no way the godhunter could resist Han Shuo's sneak attack. Han Shuo once again had the chance to experience the wonderful feeling of someone else's divine energy flowing into his body.
Although it was possible to consume the divine energy of another person who cultivated in the same energy, the recipient could not receive all of the divine energy that the benefactor possessed. In reality, he would only inherit about ten percent of his benefactor's divine energy, if not less.
After all, the divine energy that others had acquired through hard cultivation was theirs. Some of their divine energy would always remain in the cultivator's skin, flesh, organs, and bones. It could not be taken away.
Moreover, the process of consuming someone else's divine energy was very inefficient. It didn't matter how skilled the godhunter was at devouring divine energy. When the prey was being devoured, he would not be able to control the divine energy in his body. Although this allowed the predator to absorb the prey's divine energy and take it with him, more of the prey's divine energy would be lost to Heaven and Earth through his eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, hair, and every pore on his body. This loss couldn't be prevented.
Finally, after absorbing all the divine energy of his prey, the predator would have to purify it before he could fully assimilate it with his own divine energy. This process meant further losses of divine energy. After taking all the inefficiencies into account, the effective Divine Energy that a predator could gain from a prey was one tenth of the prey's Divine Energy.
Therefore, Han Shuo had only effectively gained one tenth of the Divine Energy of this Early-stage Midgod.
However, since his prey was a midgod, only one-tenth of the divine energy was enough for Han Shuo's Lowgod avatar to break through!
When the divine energy that Han Shuo's death avatar possessed became so intense that a transformation was imminent, it immediately entered the Cauldron of Myriad Demon and sank into a meditative state.
Meanwhile, Han Shuo used his main body to search for his next target - the God Hunters cultivating in the Edict of Destruction!
For seven days, Han Shuo travelled around the Greenfire Swamp, searching for suitable prey for his Avatar of Destruction to deepen his destructive divine energy. However, his findings were rather unexpected - he came across not a single God Hunter!
Undeterred, Han Shuo searched the Greenfire Swamp for three more days. By chance, one of his demon generals saw the mysterious little girl slaughter a Godhunter cultivating in the energy of darkness and said: "She should be clean now." Immediately, Han Shuo understood why he couldn't find any more Godhunters.
Since the little girl had killed all the Godhunters, Han Shuo had no reason to stay in Greenfire Swamp. Besides, Han Shuo couldn't betray his conscience by slaughtering the gods who came to this place for the energy stones and medicinal ingredients.
Should I return to the City of Shadows? Han Shuo pondered.
It hadn't been long since Cage and Eve had died. If Han Shuo were to return to the City of Shadows at this sensitive time, he would likely become a target of Avery's.
The chance of being assassinated by him was simply too high to risk.
Before coming to Elysium, Han Shuo had promised his girlfriends back on the Profound Continent that he would bring them to Elysium once he gained a foothold there. In the City of Shadows, Han Shuo had befriended Carmelita, allied himself with the House of Sainte, and even established the Celestial Pearl Pharmacy, which had become very popular. The City of Shadows was the place where he could establish himself in the shortest amount of time. However, due to his enmity with Avery Lavers, he would be in great danger if he lived in the city. Han Shuo was troubled by this dilemma.
After turning over and over in his mind, Han Shuo was still unable to make a decision. However, he was already on his way out of the Greenfire Swamp as he thought about it.
Han Shuo left the Greenfire Swamp after half a day. He slowly travelled towards the City of Shadows. He decided to stay outside the City of Shadows and enter the city after the incident had subsided.
Whoosh... Suddenly, Han Shuo heard something behind him.
Han Shuo was shocked and immediately turned around to see a small white dot rapidly approaching. A few seconds later, the small white dot turned out to be none other than that mysterious little girl. She gritted her teeth and charged in Han Shuo's direction. There was a rather sinister expression on her face. Han Shuo became alarmed.
The little girl had extremely keen senses. Given their current distance, Han Shuo believed that she had spotted him and might be trying to kill him. After seeing her anger, Han Shuo hastily turned to face her and prepared for an all-out fight.
But the situation wasn't what Han Shuo had expected. The little girl suddenly became unstable in her flight and showed an expression of pain. Suddenly, she let out a scream and began to fall from the sky.
Soon, a splashing sound came from the sea beneath Han Shuo's feet. A pair of small hands were constantly paddling and flapping. It seemed to be trying to say something.
"That little girl is badly injured, I can feel it!" The Cauldron Spirit transmitted to Han Shuo.
Han Shuo looked around suspiciously and released a few demon generals.
If this little girl was ridiculously powerful, how terrifying must the person who hurt her be?
After coming to this realisation, Han Shuo immediately thought about leaving. This little girl under the sea was not cute at all. Han Shuo had watched her murder effortlessly and happily. He had no sympathy for her. All he wanted was to get out of this mess as soon as possible.
"Save... Save me..." The girl barely managed to lift her head above the water and screamed at Han Shuo as he looked on coldly. She looked at him with pitiful eyes. At this moment, there was nothing but weakness and powerlessness on her face. The anger she had shown during her rampage was nowhere to be seen.
Han Shuo, as compassionate and tenderhearted as he was, let out a soft sigh. He flew into the sea, grabbed the little girl and quickly flew away.
Rumbling... Suddenly, a huge explosion came from the direction of Greenfire Swamp. Han Shuo could hear it even though it was far away.
The little girl who was on her last legs was startled. She said hurriedly, "Hurry, hurry! They have broken through the boundary !"
Han Shuo did not know who was after her, but he wasted no time in wondering. He immediately began to fly away from this dangerous place at his fastest speed. He passed through the 'Poseidon's Tears' of Fort Hassell and a village before stopping within a mountain range.
"I think... I think we're safe for now..." The little girl held Han Shuo by the corner of his shirt, barely managing to speak in short breaths.
"Who's after you?" Han Shuo knitted his brows and asked the helpless girl. "And what is your name?"
After a moment of hesitation, she replied quietly, "Andrina." She revealed nothing about who was following her.
"Are you feeling better? Can you walk on your own?" The little girl was simply too dangerous. Han Shuo didn't want to be around such a person of unknown origin who could threaten his life.
"Are you going to leave me?" Andrina asked as she blinked her large purple eyes.
"Your powers are simply too terrifying, and I know nothing of your origin or identity. If I stayed with you, I might turn into a pile of bones before I knew it. Anyway, you have already escaped the pursuit of your enemy. I think it is time for us to go our separate ways. No need to thank me. Farewell."
"If you leave me now, I will surely die in less than three days!" Andrina then looked at Han Shuo calmly and continued, "If you continue to help me escape after I have healed from my injuries, I swear that I will not only not harm you, I will repay the favour!"
Han Shuo was silent for a moment before he suddenly asked, "Who was after you?"
"Godhunters, the most mightiest few!" Andrina hesitated to answer, but when she saw the cautious expression on Han Shuo's face, she knew that if she didn't give an answer, Han Shuo would immediately dump her and leave. "Oh? Didn't you kill all the god hunters in Greenfire Swamp? How could there be more?" Han Shuo asked.
"They came here recently specifically to get me. They are the leaders of the Godhunters !" Andrina seemed somewhat surprised that Han Shuo was actually aware of her actions in Greenfire Swamp.
"Are they at the level of Brovst?" Han Shuo asked in a deep voice.
"How do you know about Brovst?"
Andrina exclaimed in surprise.
"The guy almost killed me, of course I would know his name," Han Shuo replied.
"Do you have any crystal coins with you?" Andrina stopped talking about the God Hunters and suddenly changed the subject.
Han Shuo, however, wanted to stay on the subject: "You have not answered my question.
"I will tell you after I have healed from my injuries. I'm a seriously injured and sick person now!" Andrina replied in a weak voice as she looked at Han Shuo, begging for his compassion.
Han Shuo casually took out a medicine bottle and handed Andrina a rejuvenation pill, "Eat this, it will help your injuries.
Andrina shook her head and said, "It won't. My body is unique. No medicine can affect me. This, um, do you have crystal coins?"
Han Shuo stared blankly for a moment before casually pulling out about a dozen black crystal coins, "Look at your injuries, what would you need crystal coins for? E... what... what the..."
Before Han Shuo could finish speaking, he saw Andrina quickly take the black crystal coins, put them in her mouth and begin to munch on them. Han Shuo noticed that her sick complexion seemed to have improved slightly after eating the crystal coins.
"Do you... have any more?" Andrina wiped the corner of her mouth and asked in a low voice.
"Y... yes... yes!" Han Shuo was startled for a moment before he hastily pulled out a bag of black crystal coins from his space ring and handed it to her. Han Shuo was astonished. He had not expected Andrina to ask for crystal coins not to spend them, but to consume them!
