Han Shuo immediately understood what was going on after hearing the words of the green-haired man in a towering rage. However, Han Shuo refused to confess his crimes. He forced a smile and said, "What are you talking about? I couldn't understand what you were saying."
"Despicable fellow, you looted all the valuables of the deceased. You had the courage to do it, but why don't you have the courage to admit it?"
"I didn't do it. What is there to admit?"
"The things you sold to the divine weapon shop obviously came from the deceased in the valley. Someone from the shop tipped me off. Just admit it already."
Han Shuo suddenly fell silent after hearing these words. He had not expected that these divine weapons would still get him into trouble, even though Donna had personally accompanied him to broker the deal. Also, according to the rules, a part of the crystal coins will be confiscated. After that, this will be over," the green-haired man said with a smile after Han Shuo admitted his crimes.
Surrounding Han Shuo were about ten divine guards with midgod powers. These divine guards were directly under the command of Erebus, one of the seven chief divine guards of the City of Shadows. Since Erebus was a member of the Sainte family, the most powerful family clan in the City of Shadows, while Han Shuo was still new to the city and had no influence, he had no choice but to follow the green-haired man to the Third Corps of the City of Shadows Divine Guards, which was under the command of Erebus.

Obviously, Kayton was partial to the green-haired man and nodded after hearing his argument, "Anito's words make sense. There is no way that you could come into possession of not one, but three divine weapons of the Midgod through proper channels, so they must have been acquired from this valley. Enough, just take out two hundred black crystal coins and you may leave. There's no need to argue!"
"You are prejudiced!" Han Shuo groaned coldly. He continued, "Please be impartial. When I sold those divine weapons, I was with Miss Donna of the House of Lavers. You can ask her for the details and find out if I'm telling the truth!"
"Miss Donna of the House of Lavers?" this person named Kayton was stunned. He soon turned to Anito with a puzzled look and asked, "Was Miss Donna there too?"
"I, I'm not sure," Anito hesitated. He had only received a tip-off from a shopkeeper who worked in the weapon shop and had not investigated the matter thoroughly. Now, when he heard that Donna of the Lavers family was involved, he immediately realised that Han Shuo might not be such an easy target.
The Sainte family was undoubtedly the most influential family in the City of Shadows. Although Anito and Kayton were pretty much members of the Sainte family, their positions were nowhere near that of the actual members of the family. If even Erebus had to give the Lavers family some face, as mere subordinates of Erebus, they had to be careful and take precautions when dealing with their employees.
"Alright, I will decide on your case after further investigation," after hearing Han Shuo mention Donna's name and seeing Anito seem hesitant, Kayton thought for a moment and decided not to rush to judgement before fully understanding the case.
It was at this point that Han Shuo truly understood Donna's words. It was useless to even be a Highgod of great power; without the authority, influence, or backing of a great family clan, one would run into all kinds of trouble or inconvenience when performing most tasks. Han Shuo realised just how much of a deterrent a great family had in dealing with this officer. If Donna wasn't there to be his witness, Han Shuo would probably suffer a great financial loss.
""You stay here. We will assess the situation very soon," Anito stood up and walked irritably towards the door. He was extremely annoyed because he originally thought that Han Shuo was a nonentity with no connections. He had not expected Han Shuo to be close to someone as influential as Donna, which had certainly thrown his plan off course.
Pow! But before Anito could walk out of the hall, he was suddenly sent flying backwards and landed next to Han Shuo.
"Who are you? How dare you cause trouble in the Third Corps? Are you impatient for death?" Kayton was furious. He slammed his table and stood up.
Immediately, twenty or so divine guards rushed from every corner of the hall. All the divine guards were Midgods.
"Yes, I'm here to seek death. Come and kill me, you bunch of fools!" the piercing voice of a young woman sounded. As soon as she finished speaking, a young and ugly woman with dishevelled light purple hair walked through the door. She had a face shaped like an irregular square, a small nose, thick lips, a pair of triangular eyes, and dark green pigmentation on her skin. She was ugly, even frightening, whichever way you looked at it.
But if you ignored her face and focused only on her body, you would find a graceful, curvaceous and wonderful figure that only an extraordinary beauty should possess.
Her strength, on the other hand, was astonishing. Even though she did not deliberately release any energy, she gave Han Shuo a feeling of pressure as soon as she entered the hall. Anito, who had been sent flying backwards, quickly got down on one knee and said, "My apologies, Miss Carmelita. I did not know it was Your Ladyship."
Carmelita! Han Shuo took a careful look at the ugly lady as soon as he heard the name Kayton addressed her as. Immediately, Han Shuo spotted a very small emblem on the left shoulder of her skin-tight, purple-coloured armour. The emblem had three triangles with three black holes that seemed to absorb any energy.
This design was unique to the Sainte family, the most powerful family clan in the City of Shadows. Just like the Dark Sun of the Lavers Family, this emblem was exclusive to their family. After finding the emblem of three black holes, Han Shuo immediately knew that this lady was indeed the legendary, gifted lady of the Sainte Family - Carmelita.
It was said that Carmelita had contracted a strange disease when she was young, causing her to grow uglier as she grew older. All attempts to cure her had failed. Although Carmelita was cursed with an ugly appearance, she was blessed with an extraordinary talent for cultivating the energy of destruction and became a Highgod in the short span of only three hundred years. She became an amazing legend in the City of Shadows.
Perhaps because of her ugly appearance, Carmelita had an extremely strange temperament and was very difficult to get along with. "Where is Erebus? I'm looking for him!" Carmelita glanced at the divine guards with her triangular eyes before asking impatiently.
"His Lordship is still in pursuit of Brovst, one of the leaders of the Godhunters. He won't be with the Third Corps for a while," Kayton replied solemnly and respectfully.

As she was about to leave, she suddenly turned to Han Shuo and said amusedly, "Is it you who tried to probe me with your soul a moment ago? You may only be a Lowgod, but your soul energy is quite strange. I'm quite surprised that you managed to escape my soul capture. What is your name? What are you doing here?"
Han Shuo was astonished, not expecting Carmelita to be so powerful that she could detect the probe of his consciousness in an instant. He remarked to himself that Highgod souls were indeed very powerful and that he needed to be more careful and less reckless next time.
Before Han Shuo could open his mouth, Kayton told Carmelita the whole story in a fawning manner, "His name is Bryan. He's here to help us with our investigation. Here's the story..."
"Bryan... Bryan... Hmm, that name sounds quite familiar. I think someone mentioned that name to me recently... That's right! Donna! It was Donna! I remember now, Donna told me about you!" Carmelita shouted softly and began to size Han Shuo up with her triangular eyes, making Han Shuo's hair stand on end.

"Your Ladyship, this person is still under investigation!" Kayton said hastily with a bitter smile as he saw Carmelita pull Han Shuo away.
"It's just a minor case. What is there to bother about for that little bit of loot? Erase the case for me. Any problems?" Carmelita did not bother to look at Kayton as she answered him.
"Er, no, no problem!" Kayton replied hastily.
After Carmelita left with Han Shuo, Kayton turned to Anito and said, "Well, stop looking into it and forget about it!"
Anito forced a smile and sighed, "Of course, I have no choice. Why am I so unlucky?"
