Fuck! How could I be so unlucky! Han Shuo cursed lowly. He had just escaped from the gang that had come from the Blue Ocean Continent in search of Akley, and he had not even been able to rest properly before he had to flee from another threat. This made Han Shuo very angry.
The person cultivating in the elemental energy of death who was fleeing towards Han Shuo saw him from a distance and hastily called out for help, "Save me! There's a god hunter!"
"You're crazy!" Han Shuo muttered to himself. Ignoring the person fleeing towards him, he grabbed Akley and began to fly away.
"Oh? Another little lamb cultivating in the energy of death. I'm lucky today," the Godhunter giggled with her cold and eerie voice.
"Stupid! Don't run towards me! Run in another direction!" When the fleeing man saw that Han Shuo could fly so nimbly even while carrying a person, he immediately thought of Han Shuo as an expert who could save his life, so he continued to follow Han Shuo. This infuriated Han Shuo and caused him to rain down curses on the person.
"Save me, I will give you all the crystal coins I have!" the person shouted again.
"I can't even save my own life, let alone yours!" Han Shuo shouted. He once again accelerated his flying speed and even secretly used a small amount of Demon Yuan!
"Bryan, what's wrong now?" the confused Akley asked in a rather annoyed voice.
"We ran into a godhunter. She's a midgod cultivating in the elemental energy of death. This is going to be difficult!" Han Shuo replied.
Akley's eyes widened when Han Shuo uttered the word 'godhunter'. Just as Han Shuo had expected, Akley didn't seem to know how to spell the word 'death' and immediately suggested to Han Shuo, "Then let's fight them to the death. There is no way we can escape the pursuit of a midgod!"
"Not necessarily!" Han Shuo replied coldly as a murderous desire rose in his heart. He asked, "Akley, can you move on your own now?"
"Yes, I can walk on land, but I can't fly yet!" Akley replied. He seemed confused.
"Good. You keep running in that direction and I will catch up with you later! This godhunter cultivates in the element of death. Her main target is me. I'll draw her away and look for you when it's safe!" Han Shuo suddenly dove down from the sky and dropped Akley to the ground.
The land was a confusing forest with rocky terrain. Although one would travel much slower by walking on such land, it was less conspicuous compared to flying in the sky.
"You're crazy! You can't take them away! It's suicide! There might still be a small chance of survival if we both go all out against them!" Akley shouted.
"Just keep running and don't stop! I can guarantee that I will be fine!" Han Shuo shouted calmly. Soon after, he took to the air in another direction.
Meanwhile, not far behind Han Shuo, a dark and pitiful scream pierced the sky.
By the sound of it, the figure chasing after Han Shuo must have perished. "That little bitch died quickly!" Han Shuo abruptly slowed his flying speed and even deliberately unfurled the aura of death on his body.
Han Shuo stood tall on a steep cliff. His cold eyes stared at the God Hunter as she emerged from a thin cloud of smoke.
The old woman was carrying the body of her latest victim. Her five claw-like fingers dug deep into the person's back. It seemed that she was still sucking the divine energy out of that person's body.
"Little lamb, why did you stop running?" the old woman said with an eerie, malevolent smile. She slowly walked towards Han Shuo, her hands dripping with blood.
"I know I cannot run from you. So I thought I might as well save some energy by going all out against you. Who knows, I might have a tiny chance of succeeding!" Han Shuo replied calmly as he stared at her with his cold eyes.
"You are very wise to know that all efforts to escape will be in vain. But what a pity, you're just a bit too weak. In this desolate area, far from the people, you, a Lowgod, do not stand a chance against me. However, since you have saved me some trouble, I will let you die an easy death," the old woman said with a cruel smile. Her claws vibrated in her victim's back, rapidly draining what little divine energy was left in his body.
They were standing on top of a steep cliff. Han Shuo had previously scanned the area with the Cauldron Spirit and confirmed that there were no advanced life forms within a radius of several miles.
"Oh? Then I thank you in advance!" Han Shuo's eyes followed them closely and he did not appear to be in the slightest bit panicked. He was frighteningly calm.
"Aren't you afraid of me?" the old woman was still draining the divine energy from her last victim. She did not rush to attack Han Shuo, but asked him amusingly.
"As things stand, fear is absolutely pointless. It will only make me die faster. So there's no point in being afraid of you!" Han Shuo said with an apathetic face as his heart grew colder and colder.
"You are very special. It's wonderful that you can have such an attitude at such a young age! But what a pity, such a pity - you met me too soon. What a pity!" The old woman had finally sucked the Divine Death Energy out of that person's body. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, as if bathing her mind in a wonderful and satisfying feeling.
Through the spirit of the cauldron, several mystical demons circled and patrolled the area, making sure that no one came over.
Can you make your move already?" Han Shuo suddenly said with a smile. His smile seemed somewhat strange, evil and elusive!
"Oh?" the Godhunter cried softly and began to look Han Shuo up and down. Shaking her head, she laughed in her cruel voice and said, "This little lamb can't want to meet his doom. Very interesting!"
As soon as she finished speaking, death rays burst from her ten fingers, fast and fierce. They filled the space with strangely beautiful arcs as they sliced through the air.
A tremor that came from the depths of the soul suddenly surged towards Han Shuo. Suddenly, Han Shuo's hands and feet became stiff.
Under such conditions, Han Shuo couldn't use many defences. Several cracking sounds were heard as his ankles and shoulders were pierced by those death rays. Divine Death Energy rushed into Han Shuo's body through those rays, freezing him in place in almost an instant.
It was only after the attack that the old woman suddenly unleashed her Domain of Divinity. All the elemental energy of death around her quickly gathered around her body, rendering Han Shuo powerless!
"What a pathetic lamb. I thought I would have to waste a little more power. I did not expect it to be so easy!" the old woman said as she pretended to feel sorry for Han Shuo.
In the next instant, Han Shuo suddenly felt the divine energy of his Death Avatar, which he had deliberately filled his main body with, begin to rapidly flow through those death rays and into the old woman's body.
"What a wonderful feeling. Now I only need to kill a hundred more and I'll be able to reach the Late-stage of the Midgod Realm!" the old woman said with satisfaction.
"Now I see. This is indeed a shortcut. No wonder so many were willing to take the risk!" With his hands outstretched, Han Shuo looked like a piece of meat nailed to a chopping board. Even though he appeared to be completely powerless against their attack, there was not the slightest trace of fear in his speech.
The old woman grew more and more confused. In her experience, at this stage, all the Lowgods, their bodies bound and their divine energy absorbed, would be struggling recklessly in fear, screaming loudly for help, or perhaps pleading tearfully to be spared...
Not once had she seen any of her victims remain as calm and unperturbed as this young man before her when their divine energy was being drained away!
"You, you really aren't afraid?" the old woman looked rather puzzled. She looked at Han Shuo strangely and asked, "As far as I know, the whole process of having your divine energy drained should be extremely painful. But why don't you seem to feel that way?"
Han Shuo smiled brightly and said, "I have experienced pain far worse than this many times before. For me, this kind of pain is just a tingling sensation!" Somehow, he seemed even more relaxed than she was. He looked more like the real culprit than a powerless lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
Suddenly, Han Shuo flashed a sinister, merciless smile and said, "Perhaps you have never experienced being on the other side of a trial. But fear not, you will soon have the opportunity to taste that sensation!"
"Huh?!" the old woman suddenly exclaimed in surprise as she discovered that she was unable to absorb any more divine energy from Han Shuo. This was very different from the conditions she had encountered many times before, and she couldn't help but cry out in surprise, "There's only this little bit of divine energy in your body? How is that even possible? You are a Lowgod. You can't possess just that little bit of divine energy! What is going on?"
"Of course that's not all the divine energy in my body!" The evil smile was now on Han Shuo's face instead of the old woman's. With his cruel eyes fixed on her, he said in a dark and cold voice, "But what a pity, this will be the last bit of energy you will take!"
Han Shuo's avatar, cultivating in the energy of death, was sent into the Cauldron of Myriad Demon. As the supreme demonic artefact left behind by the Exalted Demonlord Gu Tian Xie, even if it didn't have any demon generals to use, it still wasn't something a mere midgod could touch.
"Don't you dare play tricks on me. If you do, I guarantee you'll die horribly!" the old woman said coldly to Han Shuo, sensing that the situation was rather bizarre and that something was wrong.
"Oh, don't worry about it. I just want to take back what is mine!" Han Shuo shrugged his shoulders, as if to show her that the death rays she produced could not actually stop his movements.
"When you borrow something, you should pay it back with some interest. Since you have borrowed what is mine, you should pay some interest on it, don't you think?"
"How, how can you still move? I... impossible!" the old woman who looked like a dried corpse began to shriek neurotically. She found Han Shuo more and more puzzling.
"Nothing is impossible. I have gone through this painful process and now it's your turn!" Han Shuo smiled and burst into laughter before her eyes. With a thought, his demonic infant began to operate. The demonic yuan in every cell of his body was activated.
"Arghhhh..." the old woman suddenly let out a pitiful, bloodcurdling scream. She was shaking from head to toe, her face twitching constantly. She seemed to be in great pain.
"The doors to paradise are wide open for you, while the doors to hell are nowhere to be found, but you just have to bang into the latter! Now suffer and die!" Han Shuo said with a malicious smile.
