Chapter 628 - CHAPTER 630: The Petty Thief

All this happened in a fraction of a second. Belinda and Edwin didn't even realise what had happened until it was well over. All they saw was that the six-horned tribal king was suddenly pinned down by Han Shuo, unable to move a muscle!

After releasing the tribal king, Han Shuo calmly looked at the Six-Horned Tribal King who was still pinned to the wall, maintaining the same posture. Strange lights flickered from the eyes of the six-horned tribal king. He seemed to be in deep thought.

"Lord Bryan, this is our honoured guest!" Edwin suddenly came to his senses and stuttered to Han Shuo.

Belinda looked deeply and intently at Han Shuo with complicated emotions in her eyes. Her heart was filled with bitterness as she witnessed how different Han Shuo had become. Five years ago, when this six-horned tribal king of the Soul Race had wreaked havoc on the headquarters of the Calamity Church, Belinda had happened to be there. She had witnessed the scene with her own eyes as this six-horned tribal king stood tall and tall, even as he faced the Pope and several other Cardinals. It was very clear to her just how powerful this six-horned tribal king was.

However, it was this same alien race expert that Han Shuo had so suddenly subdued. Furthermore, this alien expert had even calmly admitted that he was inferior to Han Shuo. Belinda was horrified.

It had only been a dozen years or so. How could this person become so incredibly powerful?

The more Belinda thought about it, the more terrified she became. She was even more humbled by the fear that she might do something inappropriate and incur Han Shuo's displeasure.

"Honoured guest?" Han Shuo looked at the six-horned tribe king with a smile, remained silent for a moment, and nodded as he said, "That makes sense. You wouldn't be here if you hadn't established a relationship with the church."

The Six Horned Tribe King maintained a pensive posture for a long time before he turned his gaze back to Han Shuo and asked him in that slightly slurred voice, "You, how did you become so powerful so quickly? Why do you have three souls?"

Han Shuo was shocked. He also seemed quite surprised as he asked, "How did you know I had three souls?"

The two souls of Han Shuo's avatars were stored in Han Shuo's body. Supposedly, when his avatars were still in his body, no one was able to detect their presence. However, it only took this six-horned tribe king a moment of careful observation before he could tell that Han Shuo had three souls living as one. He could not believe it!

"People of my race are born with a remarkable sensitivity to the soul. The reason I was able to sense your position anywhere on the continent back then was due to this unique ability," the six-horned tribal king was silent for a moment before he coldly looked at Han Shuo and replied.

The two five-horned Soul Race aliens standing behind Han Shuo kept shooting meaningful glances at their tribal king. They seemed to be suggesting that the three of them join forces and attack Han Shuo.

"No need for that. We cannot harm him even if we work together!" The six-horned tribal king obviously understood what his two subordinates were hinting at, and said coldly to them. The two penta-horned aliens with eager faces immediately stopped signalling with their eyes and showed a look of disappointment and helplessness.

"Don't try anything stupid. No matter what agreement you may have made with the Church, it will be no problem for me to kill you all!" Han Shuo may have looked relaxed, but his tone alone could kill. He then looked at the worried looking Edwin and said smilingly, "As long as they behave themselves and answer a few of my questions, I won't hurt them!"

"My Lord, this, this..." Edwin didn't know what to do. He was terrified of offending Han Shuo. But at the same time, the Six Horned Tribe King was an honoured guest and could not be neglected. Han Shuo was notorious on the Profound Continent for his atrocities. Given his identity, the Pope would certainly not blame him. However, a Grand Magus as puny as him would probably have to suffer the consequences if something bad happened. He had every reason to be concerned.

"If I say it's okay, then it's okay!" Han Shuo stiffened when Edwin reacted so weakly. He coldly instructed, "Just stand there and watch from the side, I don't need your advice!"

Edwin and Belinda, who were about to offer words of persuasion, were both startled when they saw Han Shuo suddenly turn cold. Feeling that their lives could be lost at any moment, they immediately shut their mouths tightly and tactfully said nothing more.

"Okay. We can have a proper talk now," Han Shuo smiled at the Six Horned Tribe King and walked calmly towards the wide open iron door. As if he was entering his own home, Han Shuo showed not the slightest reservation.

The two Soul Race experts standing in the doorway automatically turned their bodies aside to make way for the imposing Han Shuo, allowing Han Shuo unhindered entry into the spacious stone chamber.

This chamber was plainly decorated and contained no fancy ornaments. There was only a magical orb of illumination and several large, smooth and levelled stones. The room looked very crude and rudimentary. This might have something to do with the preferences of these aliens. Otherwise, given the financial and physical resources of the Church of Calamity, this place wouldn't have needed to be so simple and crude.

After entering the chamber in a pompous manner, Han Shuo glanced around the chamber, sat down on a large stone in the centre and smiled at the aliens. The six-horned tribal king looked at Han Shuo, nodded to his two five-horned subordinates, and entered the chamber with them. The six-horned tribal king then sat on another stone opposite Han Shuo, his tail curled around his waist.

Meanwhile, the two penta-horned experts of the soul race, Edwin and Belinda, stood aside and watched them silently.

"Even though you are more powerful than me, I am not afraid of you!" the six-horned tribe king looked at Han Shuo coldly and said mechanically. He seemed apathetic and did not show much emotion that a human would normally show.

Han Shuo actually believed his words, for even though he had demonstrated his overwhelming strength, this six-horned tribal king of the soul race did not show the slightest bit of fear. They were cold-blooded in nature and unemotional towards everyone. After going to the Abyss Realm, Han Shuo gained some understanding of certain alien races. He understood that they weren't as afraid of death as humans.

"It doesn't matter whether you are afraid of me or not. What matters is that I have the power to kill you! Hehe, I think you have your own business to do. You have a high level of intelligence and shouldn't be actively seeking death," Han Shuo replied.

"What do you want? You should know that it was you who stole our stuff in the first place, so I came after you!" the Six Horned Tribe King's voice was flat, soft and cold. He had the same voice no matter what he said. He did not show much change of mood.

"I just want to ask you a few questions, nothing more." Han Shuo paused briefly before asking, "What energy do you cultivate in?"

"It doesn't belong to any of the twelve basic elemental powers. Our bodies are naturally gifted in that we have great sensitivity to the soul and are born physically powerful. We do not need to meticulously cultivate, but we need to evolve through certain unique energies. As we evolve, the number of horns on our head increases. Each round of successful evolution will allow us to form an additional horn, and our strength and soul will become more powerful as a result. The Six Horned Tribe King was silent for a moment, as if considering whether to answer Han Shuo's questions. But soon, as if he had come to a decision, he answered.

Upon hearing these words, Han Shuo seemed to suddenly see the light. He cried softly, "So that's the case! Those Origin Crystals we acquired in Tarrag Canyon, are they the energies you people need to evolve?"

"It's 'stolen'! You all stole them!" the Six Horned Tribe King corrected Han Shuo. There was a hint of human resentment in his eyes as he looked at Han Shuo. Only then did he reply, "That is correct. These are the energies we can absorb. I had finally found it after many years of searching. I was preparing to use this energy to develop a sixth horn for another of my people. But you destroyed it."

Han Shuo was shocked. He had no idea that the people of this race only evolved by absorbing energy. Han Shuo was rather amused to see this tribal king, who rarely showed any emotion, expressing his grief.

He said, "It's just a few Elemental Origin Crystals, nothing particularly valuable. It's been so many years, do you have to remember it all the time?"

"We only managed to collect them after many years of searching. But you petty thieves stole them from us at the critical moment. You are scum among scum!" the Six Horned Tribe King looked at Han Shuo. He didn't seem to understand the situation as he bluntly revealed his murderous intentions to Han Shuo.

Han Shuo was actually embarrassed to hear that the tribe king was so concerned about those Origin Crystals and was constantly complaining about him stealing his things. Now that Han Shuo thought about it, he and his gang had indeed carried out the raid out of greed. They had gone in to grab their belongings while the six-horned tribe king was busy doing something, robbing his people of the chance to evolve. Whichever way you looked at it, Han Shuo and his gang were wrong.

The Six-Horned Tribe King was right to call them petty thieves.

However, Han Shuo was not pleased to be called a petty thief. He coldly groaned and said, "Can you not say 'petty thief' every time you open your mouth? It's just a few broken crystals. Is it even worth remembering after all these years?"

"If you return them, I will stop calling you that!" The six-horned tribal king was quite amusing. He wasn't afraid to die, yet he was determined to take back what was rightfully his.

Han Shuo stared blankly for a moment as a thought crossed his mind. He silently checked the items in his space ring. After that, the space ring emitted a flash and several crystals of different colours materialised in his hand. Among them were an Origin Crystal of Water and a Divine Essence of Fire. Han Shuo had collected these crystals from that valley in the Void and had no use for them.

"Here, see if there's anything you can use. I will give it to you as compensation," Han Shuo opened his palm and revealed the crystals to the Six Horned Tribe King.

The Six-Horned Tribe King turned his expressionless gaze to it and instantly froze.

For the first time, strange radiations appeared in his cruel and merciless eyes. Han Shuo knew that these radiances screamed exhilaration and excitement!
