Chapter 615 - CHAPTER 617: Unrestrained Verbal Abuse

Shrunken Sky Shadow Seeker was a demonic art technique commonly used to detect unusual objects. Using this particular technique, Han Shuo discovered that a vacuum had formed in a region outside the city. Finding it rather strange, he decided to travel to the area to have a look.

Under normal circumstances, atmospheric air should fill every nook and cranny of every place, and there should be no naturally occurring region of vacuum on the continent. Therefore, the vacuum region must have been artificially created.

Moreover, Han Shuo was familiar with the surroundings of Ossen City, and he had never discovered a vacuum field around the northern district of the city. Therefore, he deduced that the peculiarity in that region was most likely man-made.

Fanny's inauguration ceremony as the new Chancellor of the Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength was over. With Ayermike Cotton, Graeae and Little Skeleton standing guard there, Han Shuo believed that the aristocrats of the Empire who were staying at the Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength wouldn't be in any further danger.

Without worrying about the safety of these people, Han Shuo transformed into faint threads of blood, barely visible to the naked eye, and zoomed off to the outskirts of the northern city district.

The Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength and the outskirts of the city were a few dozen miles apart. It took Han Shuo only a few minutes to reach this vacuum region.

Han Shuo silently observed the surroundings as soon as he arrived. He was immediately certain that those who had launched this attack on the Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength were right here.

In front of them was a space barrier of concentrated energy that opened up a small force field. The blinding light emanating from within the barrier had blocked Han Shuo's view of what lay behind it. A holy aura coalesced into the shape of a giant grail that filled the inside of the barrier, forming a thin protective layer that prevented Han Shuo's consciousness from probing further.

Han Shuo narrowed his eyes. He could clearly see that the Holy Aura Grail was supported by the Church of Light's divine weapon - the Holy Grail. On the Holy Grail were several olive branches shining bright gold. It was constantly releasing holy energy which maintained the protective shield in this area.

The Church of Light's divine weapon had the ability to amplify light magic. The holy energy it contained could even provide miraculous protective power. The reason why Han Shuo's consciousness couldn't detect the presence of those attackers from the Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength was probably due to the energy of this holy energy.

As he looked ahead at the area of vacuum formed by all sorts of strange energies, the corners of Han Shuo's lips curled up into a cold grin. He did not rush into his attack. Hiding in the darkness, Han Shuo believed that the people inside the bubble wouldn't be able to easily track him.

Han Shuo expanded his consciousness and gradually expanded it all around him, carefully searching for any unexpected danger lurking in the surroundings. At the same time, he recited a few incantations. Wood Elite Zombie, Metal Elite Zombie, and Earth Elite Zombie from the netherworld. At Han Shuo's command, they surrounded the Vacuum Region in a triangular formation.

Fire Elite Zombie and Water Elite Zombie had gained tremendous benefits in the Abyss Realm. They were still slowly digesting the energies they'd acquired from the two former Abyssal Demon Kings, and were unable to assist Han Shuo for the time being. Therefore, the full power of the Penta-elemental Undead Formation could not be fully unleashed. Since Han Shuo wasn't sure what kind of powers those attackers in the field possessed, and since his two avatars were still recovering in the cemetery of death, he decided to be cautious. Cautiously, he summoned three of the five elite zombies and put the incomplete Penta-Elemental Undead Formation in order, just in case he was faced with an unexpected situation.

With everything in order, Han Shuo sent a command to Little Skeleton, who remained at the Babylon Academy of Magic and Strength, to quickly teleport over. He then sneered and pulled out a Pearl of Annihilation, which he hurled at the Vacuum Region without the slightest hesitation.

Rumbling... The Pearl of Annihilation suddenly exploded, and the space immediately collapsed and distorted. It tore open several small cracks, allowing the Soulpiercers to easily enter.

After casting the Pearl of Annihilation, Han Shuo stared at the region of vacuum in front of him with cold eyes, ready to set it on fire at any moment.

A hurried voice slipped through the cracks around the vacuum region and travelled to Han Shuo's ears, "Ahem Ahem Ahem, what's going on? Why was there an explosion?"

"I have no idea. Could the mixing of several different spells have had an adverse effect?" a frosty voice replied.

Then a voice shouted, "It's the enemy!" The people inside were suddenly thrown into chaos.

Han Shuo, who could not see what was going on inside the vacuum, was able to get a clear glimpse of the strength of those attackers the moment those cracks appeared.

Since all kinds of energy were mixed within the boundary, Han Shuo couldn't make out the appearance of those attackers. However, by relying on the acute senses of his consciousness, he was able to determine their identities from their auras.

There were six attackers in all. Three of them had the holy aura characteristic of the disciples of the Church of Light; two had bodies and auras as cold as ice, probably Shrine of Ice experts who hadn't been to the Snowland the last time; and the last had a body filled with chaotic and explosive energy. His soul was as strange as a shaman's. It seemed that after several hundred thousand orcs of the Orcs' Empire had perished, some true experts decided to participate.

Of the three disciples of the Church of Light, two were demigods, and one, surprisingly, was a basegod. The two experts from the Ice Shrine were only sacred grade magi. They were the weakest of the team. It seemed that with the loss of the demigod duo of Ice Celestial Corey and Snow Celestial Tiana, the Shrine of Ice was truly finished.

As for the orc shaman, since his cultivation could be considered non-mainstream energy of summoning, Han Shuo couldn't determine his strength level exactly, although he felt that the orc shaman was more powerful than a demigod and was just a short distance away from the realm of a basegod.

Six people. One basegod, three demigods, and two sacred mages who posed no threat. In Han Shuo's eyes, this group didn't appear to be that formidable given his current strength level.

Therefore, Han Shuo did not continue to hide, but instead stood out in the open. He coldly looked at the area in front of him and waited for the six of them to emerge.

Even with only his main body, Han Shuo believed that he would have no trouble taking care of these six. Besides, Little Skeleton, a lowgod of death, would soon be at his side.

Reveal yourselves!" Han Shuo groaned coldly.

Those within the boundary of the vacuum immediately fell silent, causing Han Shuo to laugh grimly in his heart. He could even sense the fear of the two sacred mages from the Shrine of Ice.

As Han Shuo watched intently, the barrier in front of him was finally withdrawn. Bundles of holy energy returned to the centre of the Holy Grail. The space barrier gradually lost the power source that held it in place.

As the last beam of golden light returned to the Holy Grail, the space before him shattered like glass and the original scene reappeared.

A thin, middle-aged man, clutching a Holy Grail adorned with olive branches and wearing the papal tiara, looked at Han Shuo in sorrow and pain. Standing beside him were a demigod knight and a demigod light magus. They were the very duo Han Shuo had met at the Sacred Mountain of the Church of Light - the two who had incited the Primordial Dragon to cast Han Shuo into the Abyss Realm back in Dragon Valley.

The old orc with the crude animal skin draped over his shoulders stared at Han Shuo with hostility. He seemed to be itching to pounce on Han Shuo and gnaw away at his flesh.

The last two sacred mages from the Shrine of Ice were also glaring at Han Shuo with hatred. However, their eyes flickered. Their fear of Han Shuo seemed to be greater than their desire for revenge.

"You must be Bryan?" the thin middle-aged man wearing the papal tiara asked kindly.

Han Shuo smiled and even gave him a friendly bow before replying, "Indeed I am, His Holiness the Pope! Hehe, you must be very disappointed to see me standing here?" He giggled.

Han Shuo was actually quite surprised when he said those words. He had not expected that the Pope of the Church of Light would bother to personally travel thousands of miles from the Oden Empire to the Lancelot Empire, and even more surprisingly, he would choose to launch a sneak attack. It seemed that this Pope of the Church of Light was definitely a madman who would do anything, by hook or by crook, to achieve his goals. It was no secret how he had risen to become the leader of the most powerful religion on the Profound Continent.

The Pope of the Church of Light nodded and calmly admitted, "I am indeed very disappointed to see you standing before me safe and sound - but what grieves me even more is the dark age that will soon befall the Profound Continent."

"Oh? From your words, you're implying that I'm the cause of the devastating disorder on the Profound Continent. Haha. Well then, are the hundreds of thousands of civilian lives in the northern city district not worthy of your consideration?" Han Shuo laughed at the Light Pope's shameless interpretation.

"For the safety of everyone on the Profound Continent, some sacrifices are necessary!" the Light Pope said in a righteous voice as he looked at Han Shuo.

""You and your inbred whore of a mother can fuck each other until you bleed!" Han Shuo cursed without restraint as he shook his middle finger in the face of the Pope of Light. He knew that this Pope must be the most zealous disciple of the Church of Light. Han Shuo couldn't sense many of the emotions that a normal human should have from this person. He was like a robot manufactured by the Church of Light. All his behaviour and moral compass were based on the interests of the Church of Light. Therefore, it was an absolute waste of time to argue with him.

"I will make you pay for the lives of hundreds of thousands of my fellow orcs!" The orc shaman couldn't contain himself and shouted violently when he saw Han Shuo being so provocative. From his posture, it looked like he was about to charge forward at any moment.

Of course, Han Shuo had no fear of him. He sneered as he sized up the orc shaman, "So your orcs are human, but the citizens of my Lancelot Empire aren't? For ages your orcs have been attacking my Lancelot Empire without end. Tell me, who should pay for the deaths of the countless citizens of the Lancelot Empire?"

The territories of the orcs were barren, so they had always attacked the Lancelot Empire for its rich soil. In all those countless years, the number of citizens of the Lancelot Empire who had died at the hands of the Orc warriors must have been at least a few hundred thousand!

"I don't care! You have killed hundreds of thousands of my people, so you must die!" the orc shaman roared like a wild beast, and immediately threw himself at Han Shuo.
