Chapter 557 - CHAPTER 558: Demons - Nothing More Than Glorified Cannon Fodder!

After Han Shuo withdrew his soul from the netherworld, he stayed in a secret chamber and cultivated constantly. He did not indulge in sensual pleasures.

Since his realm state had tended to be stable, he seemed to have gotten the insatiable desires in his heart under control. Han Shuo faintly understood that he was on the verge of a breakthrough. However, even though he had passed this hurdle that was his realm state, the demonic yuan in his body wasn't enough to reach the critical mass for the breakthrough transformation to occur. In this regard, he needed to accumulate Demonic Yuan bit by bit through painstaking cultivation day by day.

Han Shuo knew that increasing the amount of Demonic Yuan through cultivation alone would take an enormous amount of time. However, he couldn't think of any alternative at the moment.

Then one day, while Han Shuo was diligently cultivating in his secret chamber, he suddenly sensed the arrival of Bord and Zinia. From the abnormal expressions on their faces, Han Shuo guessed that Manticole had perhaps completed his preparations. With a thought, his two avatars, one on his left and one on his right, reverted to their original forms of Skeletal Staff and Demonslayer Edge. Whoosh! Whoosh! They hid inside Han Shuo's body.

After a few stretches, Han Shuo calmly walked out of the secret chamber that the Earth Elite Zombie had dug deep underground and made his way to the parlour where Bord and Zinia were standing.

Inside the parlour, a couple of maids were carrying light refreshments and fruits and placing them on the table in front of Bord and Zinia. Jasper, who could be considered a mistress, was smiling and discussing something with the two Black Jade Guards in an adorably giggly voice.

After arriving in Black Jade City on Han Shuo's coattails, Jasper had received the hospitality of a distinguished guest. In the past few days, Jasper, Hemanna and Sylph had not missed a single day of sightseeing around this city, which was one of the most prosperous cities in the Abyss Realm. With several Black Jade Guards arranged by Bord to keep them occupied, the ladies enjoyed all the looks of envy and admiration, which gave them great satisfaction.

As a result, the three ladies became more and more dependent on Han Shuo. During the many days that Han Shuo cultivated in seclusion and did not engage in any debauchery, the three ladies became restless, as if they were missing something within themselves.

"Ahem..." Han Shuo walked into the parlour and saw Jasper chatting tenderly with Bord and Zinia. As he watched Jasper carefully, he noticed that the mental power in Jasper's brain had grown stronger. It seemed that Jasper had not slacked off in his cultivation during his days of seclusion.

"Huh? Han, you came out!" Jasper immediately turned to look when she heard Han Shuo's soft cough.

Her beautiful eyes were filled with longing and joy. After receiving Han Shuo's nourishment for a while, Jasper's skin was as beautiful as jade. A faint scent drifted from her body. She looked extremely attractive.

"Looks like you weren't slacking around!" Han Shuo said with a smile as he looked at Jasper.

Shortly after, he stood in front of Bord and Zinia and asked, "Has Demon King Manticole made all the appropriate preparations and have you two come here to invite me?" The couple nodded in unison. Bord replied respectfully, "It is true. The Void is about to open.

The Lord has made arrangements for the Black Jade City. He has asked the two of us to notify Mr Han Shuo and go with him to the Void." "Very well.

I will need a moment to make my own preparations. Then I will leave with you two immediately," Han Shuo replied casually. Then he unfolded his consciousness.

Sanguis, Hemanna, and Sylph, who were cultivating in seclusion, simultaneously received Han Shuo's message in their minds. During the time Han Shuo spent cultivating, he learned to use his consciousness more skilfully.

Influencing the minds of those without powerful enough souls with his consciousness from a short distance was one of the wonderful abilities of his consciousness. When Sanguis, Hemanna, and Sylph suddenly sensed a piece of message in their minds that they could clearly feel came from Han Shuo, they were startled. The three of them immediately awoke from their cultivation and gathered in the parlour according to the message Han Shuo had sent.

"Master, is it you who transmitted into our brains?"

Sanguis asked in amazement upon his arrival. Han Shuo smiled and replied, "Yes. I'm about to leave Black Jade City and head for the Void. I have called you all here to inform you of this. In addition, if you encounter any difficult challenges in your cultivation, you should take this opportunity to seek clarification from me. It may be some time before I can return."

"This is, this is amazing! Even from so far away, you can leave messages in our brains. Truly unimaginable!" Sylph exclaimed in amazement after arriving and hearing Han Shuo's confirmation.

Bord and Zinia turned to each other, forcing a smile and shaking their heads, gasping in admiration at Han Shuo's mysterious abilities.

"Master, why don't you take us to the Void?" Sanguis asked.

None of you have enough strength for now. This includes you, Sanguis. Although you have progressed at an incredible rate, you currently only possess the power of a Destroyer.

From my understanding of the Void, without the power of a Demon, you will not only be useless, but a burden. Just stay here for now, cultivate well and wait for me to return from the Void. When I find a transportation matrix, we will all leave for my world," Han Shuo explained.

After hearing Han Shuo's words, Sanguis's ego took a huge hit. Dismayed, he muttered, "So I'm still a burden in the eyes of the master..."

Han Shuo smiled and comforted him, "Although you are very talented, how long ago did you start your cultivation? To rise from a weak and frail nobody to a Destroyer in such a short time is more than enough to prove your potential. If you can become a demon in such a short time, then the master can retire in no time at all. Hahaha, don't be discouraged. Give yourself some more time.

It won't be long before you become an expert with the strength of a demon.

Sanguis felt a little better after listening to Han Shuo. He thought for a moment and quickly asked Han Shuo about some difficult problems he had encountered in his cultivation over the past few days.

When Bord and Zinia saw Sanguis consulting Han Shuo, they began to step away awkwardly. No matter what world they were in, when a master was teaching his apprentice, outsiders were not allowed to listen in. Bord and Zinia obviously understood this and deliberately withdrew.

Han Shuo held up his hand and said with a smile, "No need to stay away from us. You may stay," Bord and Zinia were pleasantly surprised.

They exchanged glances and respectfully stepped aside, listening with all their ears to Han Shuo's teachings. However, the demonic arts that Han Shuo was teaching were completely different from the cultivation methods of this world. What's more, the Bloodgod Mantra was a particularly strange cultivation technique. It would be a miracle if Bord and Zinia could understand it.

Ignoring the couple standing next to him, Han Shuo began to answer Sangui's questions. Sanguis often nodded his head enthusiastically as he listened, having intuitively grasped the concepts. Bord and Zinia, however, were stunned. They were incredibly confused by unfamiliar terms such as meridians and chakras and had absolutely no idea what Han Shuo was talking about.

After Han Shuo finished his explanation, Sanguis said excitedly, "Thank you Master. After listening to Master's explanation, all the things I was confused about have become clear to me."

Bord and Zinia looked at each other, speechless. They were disappointed and disheartened by Sanguis's words. Forcing a smile, Bord exclaimed in admiration, "Mister Han Shuo is indeed a master of his art. Even your words are so profound. Unfortunately, we don't have enough aptitude. It seems that we won't be able to understand anything."

Han Shuo laughed inwardly and thought, "It would be a miracle if you could understand me!

Without explaining anything to the duo, Han Shuo turned to Jasper, Hemanna and Sylph and instructed them on a certain matter that they should pay attention to, telling them to stay back there and cultivate well. He then followed Bord and Zinia to the Demon King's palace.

When Demon King Manticole at the top of the Demon King's Palace saw that Han Shuo had arrived, he said with a warm smile, "We have been waiting for you for a long time. It won't be long before the Void opens. I have made all the necessary preparations on my side. If Mister Han Shuo is ready, we can leave at once.

In this plain stone chamber, besides Manticole, there were fifteen experts, all of demon strength without exception. From their attire, they were clearly Black Jade Guards, reporting directly to Manticole. It seemed that Manticole was taking the group of Black Jade Guards into the Void.

From the words of Bord and Zinia, Han Shuo guessed that these Black Jade Guards would be used as cannon fodder at critical moments.

When faced with an unknown danger, Manticole would send these Black Jade Guards forward to assess the situation, and only proceed personally when he was satisfied that they were out of harm's way.

In the Abyss realm, demon-level experts were second only to the five Great Demon Kings. Each Demon King had guards directly under his command. These men were all notorious and had excellent reputations. However, when it came to the moment the Void opened, these dazzling and glorious demons were mere pawns for the five Great Demon Kings, completely expendable to achieve their own ends.

It wasn't easy to raise a demon, but it wasn't that difficult for the Five Great Demon Kings. In their eyes, these demons they had created with their own hands were nothing more than servant dogs. Sacrificing their lives for them when the time came was truly their honour.

The realm of the Abyss was that cruel. Even though these demons knew in their hearts the fate that lay ahead of them after they had surrendered their faith, they still followed behind their masters without looking back as before, ready to give their all to their masters at any moment.

Han Shuo, knowing this open secret, had other thoughts in his mind. There was no chance that he would serve as cannon fodder for Manticole at any moment, no matter how critical.

"Huh? Where's the other demon king? Didn't you say you two were allied?" Han Shuo asked after looking around.

"We will join him at the entrance to the Void. He should be on his way by now. We should leave as well," Manticole explained.

"Oh. I have no problems. Then let's go," Han Shuo replied.

Manticole nodded smilingly, and without another word, took to the sky, leading the way for the party. Han Shuo and the group of Black Jade Guards followed closely behind Manticole. Their destination: the Void!
