Chapter 552 - CHAPTER 553: I Will Shoulder The Consequences!

The slaughter was over in a flash. Not one of the six teenagers, including Kuliya, was able to escape Sanguis's hands. They were all coldly slaughtered, their bodies left in a horrible state!

In the realm of the Abyss, such a thing could not be more common. Neither Jasper, Hemanna nor Sylph showed the slightest sign of disgust or distress, especially when they learned of a certain affliction in Sanguis's mother. They saw nothing improper in Sanguis's actions.

Soon after killing all his enemies, Sanguis's bright red skin returned to normal. The intense stench of blood also dissipated. Gasping for breath after seeing the wreckage of his deeds, Sanguis lowered his head and began to cry. Compared to his fearsome figure earlier, the Sanguis of this moment seemed weak and helpless.

As the master, Han Shuo jumped up and landed behind Sanguis. He reached out and gently patted Sanguis's shoulder and said in a low voice, "A debt of blood, paid in blood. There is nothing wrong with what you have done. You may feel troubled because this is the first time you have killed someone. But I believe that in the future you will become numb to it. You will be just like me and you will not feel the slightest disturbance for killing someone.

"Master, I did not feel upset for them, I was crying for my mother. I thought that if Mum could see that I had avenged her, she would be satisfied..." the tearful Sanguis raised his head and explained to Han Shuo.

Han Shuo was startled. He nodded and smiled, "Very good. My good apprentice, I see I was right about you after all!"

Sanguis's expression gradually became firm. As Han Shuo looked at him, he said in a deep, low voice, "Kuliya's father and the rest of them were even more despicable. I will not let any of them get away!"

"Don't worry about that. Soon enough, they will all perish at your hands!" Han Shuo understood that compared to Kuliya, these adults must have caused even more pain and misery to Sanguis's family, especially if these men had previously been subordinates under his father.

"Ahem..." the level one demon who had been watching coldly from the sidelines coughed. When Han Shuo turned to look at him with a questioning face, he knitted his brows and said, "Although Black Jade City is not a city that forbids fighting, this boy has definitely crossed certain legal boundaries in his actions. As his master, you should think about his future instead of continuing to incite him to repeat his crime."

"Oh?" Han Shuo looked at this level one demon with a smirk and sneered, "Since when would a Black Jade Guardian be so attentive to others? Hehehe, as far as I know, a Black Jade Guard should have more important things to do than this?"

This level one demon fumbled. He looked at Sanguis and stammered, "It's just that I can see that the kid has potential. That's the only reason why I would think about him."

"Hahaha, you don't have to worry about my apprentice," Han Shuo stared at the level one demon and said firmly, "No matter what misdeeds or wrongdoings he has committed or will commit, I will bear all the consequences. You have nothing to worry about him!"

"Thank you, Master!" Sanguis's heart was at peace. He was reassured by the domineering air of this mysterious master of his. After living in Black Jade City for so many years, he had never seen anyone dare to speak to a Black Jade Guard in such an unyielding manner!

The Black Jade Guard groaned coldly. Unwilling to lose face, he said with a rigid expression, "Anyone can tell lies. Although you are very powerful, you have no authority here. I don't think you can do anything you want in Black Jade City!"

"Of course he can!" a confident voice suddenly sounded. The couple, Bord and Zinia, appeared in front of Han Shuo.

"Lord Bord, Lord Zinia, what are you doing here?" the level one demon startled. He hurriedly performed a respectful salute to the duo. He seemed extremely humbled.

"Definitely not for you!" Bord said contemptuously. Bord arrived in front of Han Shuo, using the same fawning attitude that the level one demon treated him with, Bord said cordially, "Mister Han Shuo, Lord Manticole has formally requested your presence. Please come with us to the Demon King's Palace."

When this level one demon saw that this direct superior of his, who was usually aloof and distant, had so courteously and respectfully invited Han Shuo, even on behalf of this omnipotent being, he was immediately stunned. He stared blankly at Han Shuo, his mind suddenly going completely blank.

Sanguis also had a look of astonishment on his face. Staring at this mysterious master who had come to him out of the blue, and hearing that Han Shuo had been invited by such a high figure, Sanguis's heart pounded like Chinese drums. At that moment, his master appeared to be exalted to a level he had never even had a chance to catch a glimpse of. He felt as if meeting this Master of his was a gift from the gods. It felt almost unreal.

Under the attentive glances of disbelief from the level one demon and Sanguis, Han Shuo nodded unenthusiastically and smiled in recognition, "No rush. I have just taken in an apprentice. There are some things that need to be done as soon as possible. I will meet with Lord Manticole after I have taken care of my apprentice."

The level one demon and the Sanguis, who had been staring at Han Shuo blankly, received an even greater shock when they heard Han Shuo's reply! In their hearts, Manticole was an existence as high and unreachable as the stars in the sky. He was also the god they believed in. In their minds, no one would dare disobey Manticole's command. So when they heard Han Shuo say 'no hurry', they were greatly alarmed.

To these people, Manticole had absolute power and authority. His cruelty and ferocity had long since penetrated their hearts. There were all kinds of folk tales about Manticole. But not once did any of them mention that anyone who disobeyed Manticole's words would live on. So at that moment, these two citizens of Black Jade City, who were well aware of Manticole's heartlessness, were greatly alarmed.

But in the next moment, they felt as if their hearts had missed a beat. Bord had replied with a smile, "No problem. The lord has instructed us that if Mister Han Shuo wants to enjoy himself in the Black Jade City for a while longer, the two of us will escort Mister Han Shuo. His Lordship would be waiting for Mr Han Shuo!"

Who was Manticole? One of the five Great Demon Kings of the Abyss Realm! An overlord with absolute power in the Black Jade City! A character who could kill the entire population with a single thought!

Such an awe-inspiring figure of the Abyss Realm, wielding true power, should wait for no man. How could anyone be worthy of his time?

At first, this level-one demon thought that Bord must be lying, believing that this superior of his had betrayed their faith. However, upon further reflection, he quickly realised that this was absolutely impossible. Given how loyal the Black Jade Guards were to Manticole, it would be utterly absurd for any of them to go against the will of their master.

Upon reaching this conclusion, the level one demon was completely stunned. As he looked at Han Shuo with his unruffled smile, he thought to himself, "Who in the world is this guy? Why would King Manticole be willing to delay his affairs and wait for him? He was pleased with his wise decision earlier not to attack Han Shuo in a hasty manner.

Eventually, his lapels became saturated with cold sweat, overflowing down his back...

Meanwhile, Sanguis was basking in extreme happiness that his master, Han Shuo, had indeed postponed the invitation from Demon King Manticole for his personal business. For Sanguis, this was an enormous favour. Sanguis felt like he was floating in the sweetest dream.

"Well then. With you two here, I can definitely save myself a lot of trouble," Han Shuo exclaimed. Shortly after, he turned to the Level One Demon and said, "Now, tell me, am I capable of taking all the risks for my apprentice?"

The level one demon immediately dropped to his knees and said in a trembling voice, "I am deeply sorry, Mr Han Shuo. I was unaware of your identity. Please forgive the indignation that this unworthy servant has caused you!"

"Oh?" Bord's expression suddenly turned cold. He turned to Han Shuo and said, "This impertinent fellow, has he done anything to offend you? I am in a position to administer the appropriate discipline and correction."

Han Shuo waved his hand and replied with a smile, "It's nothing. He's not bad at all. He knows how to adapt to circumstances. He did not offend me, no need to make life difficult for him."

"All right then, I will let this pass. Now get lost! You are not needed here," Bord scoffed and ordered impatiently.

"Thank you Mr Han Shuo, thank you Lord Bord. I will leave immediately!" the level one demon did not dare to say another superfluous word. With his back arched, he quickly disappeared from their sight.

"Sanguis, let's go. I need to watch you resolve all the issues. This kind of hatred must be dealt with as soon as possible!" Han Shuo told his apprentice.

"Thank you Master. Master, Sanguis will forever engrave your favour and grace on my heart," Sanguis said solemnly. His eyes were completely red, the emotionally touched type of red.

"All right, all right. It is only by letting go of all those grudges in your heart that you will be able to fully focus on your cultivation," Han Shuo said. He lowered his head, looked at the bodies around him, wrinkled his eyebrows and asked Bord, "About these bodies, what do you..."

"My subordinates will deal with these trivial matters. Let's get on with it," Bord interjected. Then he lifted his head and whistled. A few moments later, several guards in cold black uniforms appeared in front of him. "Clean up these bodies," Bord ordered.

"Yes, my lord," the person leading the group of guards replied in a stern voice. "Let's go," Han Shuo said to Sanguis as he took the lead and left the scene.

Sanguis turned his head and took one last look at the house he had lived in for so many years. He clenched his fists and looked forward, marching behind Han Shuo with unwavering determination.
