Chapter 525 - CHAPTER 526: Visiting Advisor

As Crosius and Han Shuo talked, Qunoa, who was supposed to lead the way for Han Shuo, rushed in somewhat anxiously. All he could do was stare in awe as he saw Han Shuo standing face to face with Crosius in an unyielding manner. Soon after, Qunoa looked at Crosius curiously, as if to ask for his opinion.

Suddenly, a dozen level three destroyers appeared out of nowhere. Walking on empty air, they circled around Han Shuo. Among them, a pale old man stared at Han Shuo with icy cold eyes, as if he was looking at a dead man. When Han Shuo was completely surrounded, the old man turned and respectfully asked Crosius, "My Lord, what punishment shall be meted out to this unruly scum?"

Crosius looked at Han Shuo with a pensive expression and muttered to himself. Then he waved his hand and ordered, "You are all dismissed.

The pale old man was stunned by Crosius' order. In all his life in War Demon Valley, the old man had never seen anyone trespass and leave the place without at least a few dismembered limbs. Now that Crosius had suddenly become so magnanimous, the old man could not quite react.

"Yes, my lord!" the old man replied with all due respect, nodding his head. Though his mind was clouded with questions, he did not question a word. The old man and the group of guards returned to their hiding place and disappeared from sight.

Crosius looked deeply at Han Shuo. It was only when the guards had disappeared that his attention shifted to Qunoa who was standing behind Han Shuo. With an amiable expression he said, "Qunoa, come in." Qunoa smiled back. Perhaps it was because the two of them had been through hard times together, and so Crosius had great trust in Qunoa, while Qunoa was not as afraid of Crosius as an average person would be. After that, Qunoa bowed and gestured towards Han Shuo and said, "This way, please.

Han Shuo continued bluntly. Even though he understood that the master of the War Demon Valley, Crosius, possessed unparalleled strength, Han Shuo was confident that he could escape from Crosius unscathed. Without hesitation, Han Shuo accepted Qunoa's invitation and entered the unbelievably spacious room.

From the room, one could see the entirety of the War Demon Valley. Despite the room's enormous size, it wasn't very well decorated. There were only a few strange stone tables and chairs piled up inside. After Han Shuo and Qunoa entered the room, Crosius pointed to the few empty stone chairs in front of him and motioned for Han Shuo and Qunoa to sit down.

When they were all seated, Crosius spoke, "Brakyah is one of the six Raksha of my War Demon Valley. In any other case, I would not have interfered if you had killed him in battle. However, the War Demon Valley is going through a crucial time and Brakyah could be useful. That is why I sent Qunoa to have you spare his life."

"I don't really hold a grudge against Brakyah. It was nothing more than a matter of two women. I believe that after this lesson, he will know to act within his authority," Han Shuo said with a calm smile. He talked to Crosius as if he were an old friend.

"I will see to it that he knows his place," Crosius said, but then he furrowed his brow and said with his head lowered as if talking to himself, "At first, I suspected you of being a spy sent from Venomfang Castle. However, your defiant behaviour has dispelled that doubt. If you really were someone from Venomfang Castle, you would not have met me like this, and you certainly would not be talking to me like this."

At that moment, Crosius raised his head. With his deep eyes fixed firmly on Han Shuo, he asked, "If you're not from Venomfang Castle, then where are you from? What brings you to the War Demon Valley?"

Han Shuo showed a faint smile. Looking at Crosius, he calmly said, "To be honest, I came from the territory of Venomfang Castle, but not from Venomfang Castle. I met Sylph and Hemanna by chance, and rescued the Shero Regiment in passing, because I'm a little fond of them. The reason I came to War Demon Valley is because of you."

"As for Sylph and Hemanna, you may take them with you if you wish. Think of it as your reward for getting the Shero Regiment out of the predicament it was in," Crosius flicked his wrist, as if Sylph and Hemanna were nothing more than commodities of his. Then, with a somewhat puzzled expression on his face, he asked, "So you came to War Demon Valley to look for me, what was your reasoning?"

"I wanted to ask if you were aware of matters concerning the planar guardian of the Abyss realm. I came through the space-time discontinuity tunnel from Venomfang Castle. However, the tunnel has now completely collapsed. I'd like to use the Planar Guardian to return to my original plane. Han Shuo said, knowing that there was no point in hiding these facts from a Divine Expert like Crosius.

Qunoa, who had been listening to the conversation with a faint smile, suddenly made an expression of horror. Staring at Han Shuo in disbelief, Qunoa said in a trembling voice, "What! You came from that chaotic space-time tunnel? You didn't come from the Abyss? How is that possible! You're joking! Aren't you?"

Crosius was indeed worthy of being called the Master of War Demon Valley. Even after Han Shuo made this earth-shattering revelation, his expression changed only slightly, still maintaining his calm demeanour. However, there were strange rays of light constantly flashing in his pair of deep eyes, indicating that he wasn't as calm in his mind as he appeared to be.

Han Shuo shook his head with a bitter smile and said helplessly, "I really wish I was joking, but this is no joke at all! Besides, it would not even be funny to make light of such things. I really did come to the Abyss realm from another plane of existence. I couldn't find my way back because someone had betrayed me. The purpose of my trip to the War Demon Valley was to ask Lord Crosius if he had any information about the Planar Guardian. As far as I know, any plane that has highly intelligent races will have a Planar Guardian. I believe that an entity as powerful as Lord Crosius should be qualified to have access to matters of such importance?

Unexpectedly, Crosius, who had seemed calm and collected all this time, made an embarrassed face before shaking his head and saying, "I am sorry, I have never heard of such a thing as a Planar Guardian.

Han Shuo was stunned. As he carefully watched Crosius' expression, he confirmed that Crosius was indeed unaware of the presence of a Planar Guardian. This stunned Han Shuo. He couldn't help but shake his head and let out a sigh. In a very disappointed tone, he said, "How could this be?"

"Don't be discouraged. If it were as you say, and every plane with intelligent races had Planar Guardians, then there would definitely be one in the Abyss Realm!" After a short pause, Crosius said with some reverence, "I don't know anything about Planar Guardians, perhaps because I'm not yet qualified. But if there are Planar Guardians in the Abyss Realm, then Lord Manticole would surely know about them."

When Crosius said this, Han Shuo suddenly shivered, thinking that Crosius' words actually made sense. There were a total of five great demon kings in the Abyss Realm, each with their own territories and cities. If there really was a Planar Guardian in the Abyss, it would be impossible for these Abyssal Demon Kings not to know of its existence.

But the problem was that these five great Demon Kings of the Abyss not only possessed true godly powers, but were actual gods in the Abyss realm. How would Han Shuo, a relatively unknown figure in the Abyss realm, be qualified to meet one of the great demon kings?

Considering that even Crosius possessed the strength of gods, Manticole must have possessed unimaginable power as the one who raised Crosius to the level he was. When pitted against Crosius, Han Shuo was still confident that he would emerge unscathed. But if he faced the Demon King Manticole, even escaping might be a problem!

Han Shuo believed that once his demonic powers reached the next realm, he would possess even greater power. However, before he could make this breakthrough, he first had to avoid being killed by the Abyssal Demon Kings. So while he was pleasantly surprised by Crosius' words, he was also somewhat concerned.

""You needn't worry. You can stay in War Demon Valley and act as a guest advisor for the time being. Once the crisis in War Demon Valley is resolved, I will report the matter to Lord Manticole. I can't say for sure, but by then Lord Manticole may be able to help you," Crosius suggested as he looked at Han Shuo.

Han Shuo knitted his brows. He knew that this was a good idea, but he also knew that Crosius would not be so selfless as to help him. Therefore, Han Shuo did not rush to accept the proposal, but asked, "What are your conditions?"

"As I've said, you will be a visiting advisor to my War Demon Valley. Even though you are not personnel of the War Demon Valley, you are obliged to help us when we encounter a powerful enemy. This is what a visiting advisor is!" Crosius explained. His eyes sparkled, as if he was hiding another ulterior motive.

If the situation ever gets bad, I could always let go and leave without the slightest restraint, instead of staying and fighting to the death, Han Shuo thought. Soon after, he smiled faintly and said, "All right, I will stay in War Demon Valley as a visiting advisor for now."

"Good! Then you are one of us. Rest assured, I will give you my full support once this matter is resolved," Crosius promised, revealing another rather awkward smile.

Looking at Crosius' current appearance, Han Shuo was certain that the beautiful young lady Han Shuo had met earlier must have been born to a woman of a very different race from Crosius. There weren't many similarities between father and daughter.
