The hordes of undead creatures that covered every inch of the land left as quickly as they had come. Not long after Little Skeleton's command, they returned to where they came from.
It was only after the mountain had returned to its normal state that Little Skeleton's huge body shrank back to its original diminutive size. He looked at Han Shuo and said, "Father, why have you come?"
"I sensed that you had fused your soul with the Death Origin Crystal, so I had to come and check on you. I must say, it was quite unexpected for you to achieve such a feat. Well done," Han Shuo rejoiced. He was genuinely happy for Little Skeleton.
"I owe my achievements to Father's help. Without Father, I would not have achieved what I have," Little Skeleton replied.
Han Shuo truly knew that he didn't have to worry about Little Skeleton anymore. Little Skeleton has defeated Bone Dragons and Zombie King! As long as he didn't encounter any more mysterious and indomitable beings like the ones in the legends of the netherworld, he would never be in any real danger.
"Alright, alright. Now that you have acquired such powers, I can truly feel at ease. Hmm, for now, you should learn to get used to your new body and soul. You will also have to take care of Little Water and Little Wood when they arrive, you will supervise them in their practice of the Penta-elemental Undead Formation," Han Shuo said.
"Don't worry father, I know what to do," Little Skeleton replied.
Without wasting any more time, Han Shuo's consciousness passed through the space-time tunnel and returned to the Profound Continent. He awoke in the hidden chamber in the Dark Forest.
Han Shuo had no idea how much time had passed. He did a few stretches before quickly leaving the chamber and heading into the depths of the Dark Forest.
To get from the Kasi Empire to the Valley of Sunshine, one had to pass through the Dark Forest. Han Shuo had always been interested in the Dark Forest, a place full of wonders and mysteries. On his previous trip to the Kasi Empire, Han Shuo had not spent too much time in the Dark Forest. But since there was no particular urgency to return this time, Han Shuo took his time with the journey.
As he walked into the depths of the Dark Forest, Han Shuo paid close attention to the distinctive flora and fauna of the Dark Forest. He was fascinated by everything. He had even acquired some very valuable materials along the way. As he marvelled at the wonders of the Dark Forest, he paid even more attention during his tour of the Dark Forest.
Han Shuo stayed in the Dark Forest for several days as he gradually ventured into the deepest part of the forest. Along the way, he acquired many priceless items, as well as some exotic, super-ranking magical beasts that had wisely tried to keep their distance due to Han Shuo's sheer power.
The Cemetery Of Death lay at the edge of the Dark Forest. Han Shuo had lost count of how many times he had come and gone to the Dark Forest, but he had never ventured as deep into the Dark Forest as he was about to.
The deepest part of the vast and seemingly boundless Dark Forest had always been synonymous with 'mystery'. Those who ventured into its deepest parts were in for a brutal journey. Countless adventurers had flocked to the Dark Forest over the years, but none could ever claim to have traversed it in its entirety.
The right circumstances had never seemed to come together for Han Shuo to thoroughly explore the depths of the Dark Forest.
Soon enough, Han Shuo found himself in the infamous, aptly named 'Forbidden Zone'. He remembered that he had once encountered a golden dragon and a cyclops just outside the forbidden zone. He had also discovered the personal notes of the expert who helped found the Lancelot Empire, as well as the skeletons of many high-level magical beasts.
Walking down memory lane, Han Shuo discovered that this place bore no resemblance to its former self. It was missing layers of obstructive energy, weeds had taken over every inch of the ground, and all kinds of magical beasts now inhabited the area, living in a single ecosystem. Han Shuo could sense the presence of super-ranked magical beasts in the distance. However, they were not complete savages and kept to themselves for the most part.
Han Shuo gasped. A few kilometres to his left, two super-ranked magical beasts were engaged in what appeared to be an intense battle.
Curiosity got the better of him and Han Shuo, who had come purely for the sightseeing, made his way over to watch the commotion. It was magnificent, a majestical unicorn fighting a cyclops. At a glance, he knew it was him, it was the same Cyclops Han Shuo had encountered in the forbidden zone.
Unicorns were considered the purest of magical beasts. Their horns possessed the miraculous ability to purify dark energy and detoxify any poison. Unicorns could move as fast as lightning and were skilled manipulators of lightning and wind magic. Underneath their beautiful snow-white exterior was a strong physical body, not inferior to that of a dragon.
This unicorn was probably an adult. Its horn radiated a dazzling array of rainbow-coloured light, adding to its nimble and exceptional physique. It was truly a living work of art.
He leapt and scampered through the lush ancient trees. With each kick of its hind legs, it leapt a dozen metres. His horn shone with a beautiful lustre as lightning bolts and blades of wind were sent recklessly towards the Cyclops.
The Cyclops, massive as he was, was unexpectedly on the losing side. Not even his mad strength could defeat the unicorn. Spell after spell was hurled at the cyclops, and all the one-eyed giant could offer was an inadequate defence. The unicorn was too fast, too agile. He couldn't land a single blow.
It was all so fascinating for Han Shuo. He simply had not expected the unicorn to have this level of magical ability.
What a strong, absolutely breathtaking unicorn. If I could capture it and give it to Fanny, Phoebe, and the others, they would surely be overjoyed, Han Shuo thought. He remembered that between Phoebe, Emily and Fanny, only Fanny had yet to receive a precious treasure from him.
Han Shuo had given Phoebe the divine weapon 'Starry Sky'. Emily had received not only the personal notes and magical staff of the demigod Ayermike Cotton, but also an Origin Crystal of Darkness. But despite his unwavering favour for Fanny, she had yet to receive anything from him.
A pang of guilt grew in Han Shuo. He was now determined to get the most valuable treasure he could, no matter what. Any failure would be seen as prejudice.
Unicorns not only possessed flawless, unparalleled beauty, but also miraculous powers. She would be an irresistible woman. He made up his mind, he would capture her by hook or by crook and force her to sign a contract with Fanny. This would be his way of making it up to Fanny.
Unicorns really were quite intelligent magical creatures of the highest order. A couple of lightning bolts shot at Han Shuo even though he was three hundred metres away in hiding.
Han Shuo was shocked and thought to himself, "He's a restless little fellow, isn't he? He stretched out his hands in a ripping motion and the lightning bolts simply shattered and disappeared.
Seeing that his presence had been discovered, Han Shuo thought he might as well stop hiding. Stepping out from behind the ancient tree that tore through the sky, he smiled at the unicorn in front of him as it watched him wary. Revealing what appeared to be a friendly smile, he greeted, "Hi..."
A few more flashes of lightning and a blade of wind interrupted his speech. With a bitter smile, Han Shuo threw his hand into the sky, dissipating all the attacks the unicorn had unleashed.
Suddenly, the cyclops cried out in surprise, "Oh! It's you, Great Demigod Being!"
In their previous encounter, Han Shuo had left quite an impression on the Cyclops. Han Shuo had absorbed an enormous amount of energy and entered a demonic trance. The Cyclops had assumed him to be a demigod after that. Some time had passed since then, and Han Shuo no longer needed to draw his power from any external sources to reach demigod levels of strength.
Han Shuo bluntly acknowledged the Cyclops' designation. He chuckled, "It's been a while. What's up? What troubles have you been having?"
"This unicorn is really troublesome. All I did was take a few stones from his territory and he has been after me ever since. He's trying to kill me. Just a real pain," the Cyclops snarled.
A pair of eyes flickered back and forth between Han Shuo and the Cyclops as they continued their conversation. Its eyes looked like gemstone and it moved between the two as if it thought they were friends. It suddenly fled like a frightened chicken.
Considering that two of its blows had missed, the unicorn could tell that Han Shuo was leagues above the cyclops in power, so it dared not linger any longer. A clever creature indeed.
