Not much had changed in the underground world. They still saw ugly goblins and batmen looting everywhere. The whole underground world was terrorised by chaos. It seemed as if the situation would never change if given a few hundred years.
"Gilbert, do you know what kind of disaster your dark dragon race is about to face? You can't be completely clueless, can you?" Han Shuo asked Gilbert as they run towards the dark dragons' dwellings.
"Master, I really don't know anything. That was all my grandfather told me through the Dragon Speech Bone. I have no idea at all!" replied the grumpy Gilbert. He was not in a good mood.
Throughout the entire journey, the very worried Gilbert kept urging Han Shuo to speed up. It seemed that although Gilbert was a runaway, he still had deep feelings for the dark dragon race. Otherwise, he wouldn't have begged Han Shuo so much.
After following Han Shuo for so many years, the two of them had always managed to escape the clutches of danger, despite the dangers they had encountered. Subconsciously, Dark Dragon Gilbert felt that Han Shuo could handle any danger, as if there was nothing that could really harm him.
Especially when Han Shuo had recently emerged from the Cemetery of Death, as a Dark Dragon bound to Han Shuo by contract, Gilbert knew more than anyone else the terror of the power Han Shuo possessed! Therefore, when he received the message from his grandfather, he immediately thought of Han Shuo, believing that only Han Shuo could help the dark dragon race safely overcome the disaster.
When Han Shuo realised that he wouldn't get much more information from Gilbert, Han Shuo didn't waste another second asking. Gilbert's understanding of the underground world was far superior to Han Shuo's. Therefore, with Gilbert's guidance, they did not waste much time in the first underground layer where the dark elves were running amok. They descended through an arduous cliff-like cavern to reach the next layer, which was slightly darker.
There was no lack of light in this layer of rock, but it was rather weaker than in the previous one. Tall, lofty, luminescent plants were everywhere, illuminating this layer, but it was still clearly visible, even if it took a little more effort.
"Come with me!" Gilbert barely spoke as he led Han Shuo straight into a narrow tunnel. He seemed very worried.
On the way, Han Shuo roughly learned from the dragon about the geographical distribution of the underground world. There were three layers altogether. The top layer was where the dark elves and lizardmen lived. Compared to the others, the creatures in this layer were the weakest. Even for the ancient dark elves that Han Shuo had met before, they were still weaker compared to the creatures in the next two layers.
Of course, an abnormal being like the Ancient Lizard King was an exception. For beings like the Ancient Lizard King, who had evolved to the top of the Five Ranks, no matter where he was placed on the Profound Continent, he remained a powerful being.
However, existences like his were incredibly rare. The vast majority of lizardmen were still so stupid that they were unable to be as fortunate as he was to evolve to the fifth level and possess such immense power that he could leave this plane of existence.
The dark dragons lived in the second tier. The creatures found there were usually extremely strong. Apart from the race of dark dragons that lived together, there were some very formidable super-ranked magical beasts that lived alone. However, under normal circumstances, these super-ranked magical beasts would all live in their own territories, and each would simply go about their own business.
The dark dragons were a race that no one dared to provoke. They were a formidable race to begin with, and they even lived in a large group, so even though they were surrounded by countless other formidable creatures in this second layer of the underground world, not many were willing to provoke the dark dragons.
Han Shuo took this to mean that he could basically eliminate any threat from the second layer.
The third layer of the underground world, however, was a region of great mystery. According to Gilbert, there wasn't a creature alive that knew what lived in the next layer.
Legend had it that there were tunnels connecting the second and third layer. But it was incredibly rare to find a creature that knew where the tunnel was. And of those super-ranked magical beasts that were lucky enough to find the tunnel and venture into the third layer, not one returned!
So no one, or perhaps no creature, really knew what was going on in the lowest layer!
After crossing the narrow tunnel, Gilbert again led Han Shuo on a long walk, and they finally arrived at an area covered with mountain ridges. This was a huge canyon with unbroken ridges of irregular heights as far as the eye could see. From a distance, it looked like huge dragons were entrenched there.
As soon as they reached the area, Han Shuos sensitive nose picked up a faint stench of blood, "I smell blood!"
Gilbert's eyes turned red, on the verge of tears, he shouted, "Grandpa, I'm home! Gilbert is home!"
Gilbert's voice echoed endlessly in the great canyon. He was already rushing towards the canyon as he shouted these words. Han Shuo followed hastily.
"Get out of here!" came the angry roar of an old man with fear in his voice from the deepest part of the canyon.
"Grandfather, it's my grandfather's voice!" Gilbert was pleasantly surprised and turned to Han Shuo, "My grandfather is still there. He is fine!"
""
"But I think you have already lost some clansmen!" Han Shuo shouted lightly and grabbed the dark dragon Gilbert. He suddenly accelerated and shot towards the canyon at lightning speed.
Beneath their feet, a thirty metre long body of the dark dragon lay exposed at the back of a mountain ridge. As Han Shuo and Gilbert flew overhead and looked at the ground beneath them, they could see that the body of this dark dragon had most likely been sliced open by sharp weapons, with hideous wounds all over its magnificent body.
"Uncle Delix!" Gilbert obviously recognised the body of the dead dark dragon and snarled with his eyes popping out.
But this dark dragon wasn't the only carcass!
As they continued to fly towards the canyon, three more Dark Dragon corpses appeared beneath their feet. These three dark dragons must have suffered terrible torture before they died. Each body was riddled with cuts and wounds. One was even cut into three pitiful pieces!
Gilbert knew all four of the Dark Dragons that were killed, especially the giant Dark Dragon that died in the most miserable state, cut into three pieces. He almost fainted with grief and indignation. He could no longer hold back his tears.
For this was Gilbert's father!
"You scoundrel! Run away! Run far, far away!" a desperate scream, as if crying blood, came from the depths of the ravine, mixing with Gilbert's mournful cry. Han Shuo's heart grew as cold as it could be, giving him the impulse to slowly torture the culprit to death by tearing his skin and flesh into a thousand pieces.
Even without actively using his consciousness to probe the situation within, he could sense the few presences within, one of which was particularly powerful. Faintly, Han Shuo even felt that its aura bore some resemblance to that of the Water Divine Magus Tiana. As this feeling arose in his heart, his desire to kill grew even stronger.
"Move! Postpone it until we get to the canyon!" Han Shuo grabbed Gilbert's shoulders in spite of Gilbert's loss of self-control, and with a grim expression on his face, he hurriedly flew into the canyon.
"Here comes another one, tut-tut, interesting!" Suddenly, a disdainful, icy sneer could be heard from the depths of the canyon.
"I will kill them, I will kill them! No matter who they are, I will kill them!" Gilbert, the dark dragon, kept repeating these words as he wailed. His usual carefree, happy-go-lucky demeanour was long gone.
At that moment, aside from grief, perhaps the only thing Gilbert felt was deep-seated hatred.
Finally, with Han Shuo pulling Gilbert along, they arrived at the largest canyon.
The first thing that caught Han Shuo's eye was a huge pure white cage made of some unknown material. Inside the cage were about seventeen dark dragons that had transformed into human form with skin as dark as ink. There were old ones and young ones. They all wore collars around their necks, not unlike dog collars. . Bloody whip scars were visible on their faces. Even a dark dragon with the appearance of an underage girl was not spared. There were traces of open wounds on her cheeks, still flowing with fresh blood, as if she had just been whipped.
Around the cage were six people dressed in matching clothes, white as snow. All of them wore icy expressions that conveyed an air of indifference and ruthlessness.
Among them was a middle-aged man with a handsome face that could have been carved with a blade. He looked at Han Shuo and Gilbert with a cold and indifferent smile, his hands clasped behind his back. The presence emanating from him was quite similar to Tiana's. Moreover, he was the most powerful being in his group - a demigod!
"Another puny reptile!" This handsome middle-aged man looked at Gilbert as if he were looking at a pet, which naturally caused a feeling of aloofness. Then he turned to Han Shuo, "Who are you?"
"You know Tiana, right?" Han Shuo asked instead of answering.
Including this handsome middle-aged man, all six of them in white slightly changed their expressions. The middle-aged man leading the group furrowed his brow before saying, "You actually know my junior sister. Who are you?"
"Who are you?" Han Shuo was startled and shouted.
"We are from the Ice Shrine. I'm Corey, the Ice Celestial. How did you hear about my younger sister, Tiana the Snow Celestial? Who are you? Are you friend or foe?" This man from the Ice Shrine known as Corey, a so-called Ice Celestial, asked coldly with his eyes fixed on Han Shuo.
