"Father, come with me!" After flying out of the Dead Sea, Little Skeleton sent a message to Han Shuo.
Without waiting for Han Shuo to react, the bone demon that Han Shuo was riding on moved when it received the message. It made a circle with Han Shuo on it before flying towards Little Skeleton's location.
"Whoosh"
Little Skeleton landed on Bone Demon's body. After Little Skeleton landed on the Bone Demon, it flew straight down towards the sea. In the blink of an eye, it had fallen into the Dead Sea and continued its descent.
The skeletal body that Han Shuo forged by solidifying the aura of death was extremely tough and durable, but the skeletal bodies of Little Skeleton and Bone Devil were even better than Han Shuo's. They had no fear of being corroded by the corrosive seawater. It was just that their rate of sinking to the bottom of the Dead Sea was slightly slower due to their buoyancy.
Down in the depths of the Dead Sea, everything was dark and pitch black. Using their eyesight was basically useless down there. Both Han Shuo and Little Skeleton used their senses to feel their way forward. Moreover, Han Shuo's consciousness was extraordinarily strong. Even though he had come to the netherworld from another plane of existence, his consciousness could still clearly map out the surrounding scenes.
At this depth under the ocean, there weren't many undead to be found. The Dead Sea wasn't home to many unique plants either. Apart from the pitch-black seawater, there was nothing that particularly caught Han Shuo's attention.
"Where are we going?" Han Shuo asked Little Skeleton.
"In the depths of the Dead Sea, a very special plant grows. The reason I wanted to conquer the eastern Dead Sea, aside from dealing with Tumoja, is to get my hands on that plant," Little Skeleton replied.
As Little Skeleton explained, Han Shuo's curiosity immediately peaked. He no longer thought of the netherworld as a desolate, cold and barren world. Ever since he had experienced the benefits of consuming the Serene Glow Gem and the Black Resolute Crystal, Han Shuo had realised that the Netherworld was also a wondrous place.
Beneath the deadly seawater of the Dead Sea, Han Shuo could not sense the presence of a single plant. Little Skeleton explained that the reason he kept Tumoja in his crosshairs was to obtain a unique plant from the Dead Sea. This alone tells Han Shuo that this plant in the Dead Sea must be extremely rare and precious, otherwise Little Skeleton would never be willing to spend such a considerable amount of wealth.
"What kind of plant is it? What's so special about it?" Han Shuo asked immediately.
"Pop! Pop!"
Suddenly, a strange sound came from the distance. Han Shuo's consciousness could clearly sense that many undead creatures were rushing towards them. Although the presence of these creatures was much weaker compared to Tumoja, It is still higher than those lowly Dead Sea creatures that fought in the battle just now.
Little Skeleton did not immediately answer Han Shuo's question. Obviously, he had also discovered the rapidly approaching undead. Little Skeleton's originally dull purple demon eye suddenly exploded with brilliant purple light beams. From the centre of the Little Skeleton, a bizarre, sinister energy suddenly emanated.
"I have killed Tumoja. You will all pledge allegiance to me or disappear forever like Tumoja. Your choice!" Little Skeleton's powerful message was so commanding that it merged with the current and carried far and wide into the distance.
At that moment, Han Shuo noticed that the approaching Dead Sea creatures all looked like creatures that had mutated from certain fish found on the Profound Continent. There were some telltale characteristics of the undead on the bodies of these creatures, such as bony growths, while their body structure resembled fish scales. They looked very strange.
It was obvious that the powerful message delivered by Little Skeleton had a tremendous effect on those strange-looking Dead Sea creatures. Those undead creatures that were charging at Little Skeleton with great momentum suddenly stopped charging at Little Skeleton when the message was broadcast, and they began to communicate with each other.
"You all have no choice. Without Tumoja, you're no threat to me. Surrender immediately and swear allegiance to me. Otherwise, your only way will disappear forever!" Little Skeleton urged them.
"We are ready to serve you!" Without making Little Skeleton wait too long, the creatures of the Dead Sea succumbed to his power. One by one, they swore to serve and pledged allegiance to Little Skeleton. As long as Little Skeleton's soulmarks exist, they will never betray him.
This was a common phenomenon in the netherworld. Once the boss was defeated, the victor would usually be able to assimilate their opponent's powers. It's proper and expected that lower level undead creatures serve the higher level ones; there's no such thing as loyalty or betrayal in the netherworld.
"Very well. Take me to the Tree of Souls that you guard!" Little Skeleton transmitted.
"Master, please come with us!" the Dead Sea creatures turned respectfully and led Little Skeleton and Han Shuo to an even deeper area under the sea.
"Father, under this eastern part of the Dead Sea, there's an unusual plant called the Tree of Souls. It produces fruit called Pearl of Souls. If we eat it, we will have wisdom. For Little Earth, Little Gold and the others, it can make them evolve faster. However, wisdom only develops in high-level creatures, and only high-level creatures can digest the experiences that increase their wisdom. For creatures like Zombie Warrior and Hate Warrior, the Pearl of Souls would have no effect on them even if they consumed it," Little Skeleton explained to Han Shuo.
"A plant that could increase one's wisdom. What was going on?" Han Shuo asked immediately as shock rose in his heart.
It seemed that Little Skeleton wasn't able to answer this question very clearly. After Han Shuo asked the question, Little Skeleton's purple demon eye flickered for a while before he replied, "I'm not sure either, because I've never seen a Pearl of Souls. I've only heard about them through the grapevine. As for the specific details, we'll find out after we go there and take a look."
Han Shuo was extremely curious, but after hearing what was said, he didn't ask any more questions. He continued to focus on using his consciousness to get a glimpse of the surroundings, while silently guessing how the Pearl of Souls could increase an undead's wisdom.
After a short while, the group of undead leading Little Skeleton and Han Shuo arrived at a region of dense, black, ink-like water. All kinds of chaotic soul energy suddenly shot out everywhere and in all directions. The chaos took hold of Han Shuo's consciousness.
Han Shuo was startled. It was the first time his consciousness had encountered such an energy. The restrictive power it had on his consciousness made Han Shuo feel extremely uncomfortable. However, as Han Shuo had trained proficiently in Demonic Magic for many years, he had gained some insight into the use of his consciousness. Suddenly, his consciousness severed all connections with the environment like a sharp knife.
The energies that had entered Han Shuo's consciousness were immediately purged or cut off. Not a single bit of soul energy could affect Han Shuo. When he turned his head to the side, he saw that Little Skeleton and Bone Devil were also staring blankly at their place. They seemed to be frozen by the soul energy.
Through his connection with Little Skeleton, a wave of thoughts suddenly rushed towards Little Skeleton. After the thought from Han Shuo's consciousness entered the dazed Little Skeleton, he immediately reacted and his purple demon eye shone brightly. That empty state of mind was wiped clean. Then, through his connection with the Bone Demon, Little Skeleton also injected his energy into the Bone Demon.
After being awakened by Little Skeleton, the Bone Demon's huge body shook slightly, and it immediately sent out its thoughts.
"Master, these newcomers didn't warn you about the situation here. It seems that they have malicious intentions!" as the Bone Demon roared in anger, it flew towards a Dead Sea creature not far away. Before the Dead Sea creature could react, Bone Demon had chewed it into powder.
"Master, please forgive us. We thought that if you could kill Tumoja, it would be very easy for you to avoid the energy surrounding the Tree of Souls.
We are very sorry that we did not remind you before. The Dead Sea creatures were horrified and hurriedly apologised to Little Skeleton.
"Fine, forgive them.
I guess you wanted to test my strength, huh? I will let it pass this time. If something like this happens again, I will not let any of you continue to exist in this Netherworld," Little Skeleton said.
At Little Skeleton's command, the Bone Demon stopped its fierce pursuit.
The Dead Sea creature did not resist, but kept begging for forgiveness. At that moment, the inky black sea water suddenly disappeared. The scene of a large tree with several brown branches intertwined with each other, its roots buried deep under a field of rocks, and ten fist-sized oval grey fruits hanging from this unique large tree appeared in their minds.
They could vaguely see that the sea water surrounding the tree was grey in colour. Spirit energy that looked like memory fragments flooded all around the giant tree in a chaotic manner.
It looked as if wisps of it were floating into the centre of the giant tree. Perhaps it was one of the nutrients the tree needed.
"Around the Tree of Souls, there was some floating energy of memories that the Dead Sea absorbs. The Tree of Souls condenses these emotions and memories into itself and then forms the Pearl of Souls. This Pearl of Souls can be consumed directly.
It will cause some dumb high-level undead creatures to gain great wisdom. The Dead Sea creatures explained to Little Skeleton.
"Father, this is the Pearl of Souls. It is said that it can increase your wisdom.
You should try it!" Little Skeleton explained to Han Shuo.
With great curiosity, Han Shuo walked over to the Tree of Souls, plucked a Pearl of Souls and dropped it into his consciousness. He then used the energy of his consciousness to smash the hard shell of the fruit and remove it.
Suddenly, all sorts of messy, chaotic emotions, along with some memories and realisations, rushed deep into Han Shuo's mind. The Pearl of Souls was filled with a great deal of experience. No one knows if they came from netherworld creatures. Among these experiences, many were inexplicable to Han Shuo, and some of them contained new ideas that Han Shuo had never heard before.
While Han Shuo's mind was still in a big mess, a flash of memories about controlling one's desires and unbridled indulgence suddenly jumped into his mind. Han Shuo, who was worried about the hard-to-break carnal realm, fell into a foolishly paralysed state, as if he had received enlightenment.
