Chapter 427 - CHAPTER 427: One Against A Hundred

As soon as Blount had finished speaking, Dempus led Grand Duke Ashburn, Charles and the experts protecting them into a hasty retreat.

Blount and Kosse formed a group with a few Templar Knights and white priests from the Church of Light and headed in the opposite direction of Dempus and the others.

Blount's assumption was absolutely correct. At that moment, Han Shuo had remembered the holy aura on Blount's body. The fact that the Earth Elite Zombie had been injured was a sore point for Han Shuo. Before entering demonhood, he had considered Blount to be his target and had not let Blount out of his sight.

As expected, when Blount, Kosse and the other members of the Church of Light left, the fiend-like Han Shuo who flew overhead did indeed target Blount and persistently pursued him.

Dempus and the others, who had originally planned to flee quickly, suddenly realised that Han Shuo's target was indeed Blount and immediately sighed in relief. Under Ashburn's command, they changed direction again and circled back to the centre of the battlefield to continue directing their troops in the ongoing war.

Han Shuo, who had sunk into the state of demonhood, was like a pillar of lightning, emitting a terrifying sound as he charged towards Blount, Kosse and his party. He didn't care about the fate of Ashburn and the others.

Firenze, who had been watching the crystal ball, gave a cold hmph and said, "Ashburn has returned to court death. So far he has not been able to tell the outcome of the battle."

"It seems that Blount and the members of the Church of Light are in trouble!" Karel's mood had calmed down and he smiled as he told Sabakas.

"Yes, that's right. Originally, I was ready to help Bryan at any time. I didn't expect this brat to be so wonderful. Looks like we have nothing to worry about, just Ashburn". Sabakas also let out a breath, his tone relaxing as he replied.

"You mean Bryan shouldn't be in trouble?" Fanny was most concerned about Han Shuo's safety. She hesitated for a moment but still didn't feel very reassured.

"Lass, it is those who were chased by Bryan who should be worried. I don't think we need to worry about this brat. All right, take it easy, don't worry about this and that all day long." Firenze comforted Fanny.

Emily and Phoebe had normal expressions, they were just amazed at his extreme performance. Ever since they met Han Shuo, they had never seen him suffer losses. Han Shuo had always given them a powerful strength, so they had vaguely formed a blind trust deep in their hearts.

Fanny, however, was different from them. Of the three of them, Fanny was the first to meet Han Shuo. When Han Shuo was still a necromancy major and had yet to become strong, she even had to step forward at times to help him solve problems. This deep-rooted impression wasn't something that could be changed in a short time. Even though Han Shuo was so powerful at the moment, she would still be worried about him.

While the crowd watched Han Shuo with varying emotions, the fiend-like Han Shuo had actually caught up with Blount and started attacking the followers of the Church of Light.

Standing tall in the bloody cloud, Han Shuo raised the Demonslayer Edge within the writhing bloody cloud. It emitted a dragon-like sword light and each strike contained boundless power. The mages of the Church of Light continued to weave layer upon layer of defensive barriers. Even the Sacred knight Blount dared not withstand the blows alone.

A long and narrow red bolt of lightning bombarded them from above. It was like the meandering, twisting body of a hundred-metre-long dragon, containing vast amounts of killing intent, striking directly at the magical barrier Kosse and the group of mages had set up.

A swirling wind screen, a glittering and translucent ice shield, a blazing firewall and a magnificent holy light shield took shape one after the other above their heads, forming a colourful and bizarre scene. Blount was in charge of the final layer of defence as his combat aura, filled with divine energy, shot out from his golden spear in the form of blinding light.

These followers of the Church of Light focused their attention on the sky above, as if anticipating a great enemy, and summoned all their strength to meet the inevitable strike.

Finally, a mighty attack struck the combined barriers of the members of the Church of Light.

It shattered into small pieces like the stars of the Milky Way, sending multicoloured lights shooting in all directions with a deafening noise. The enormous energy contained unparalleled ruthlessness, easily destroying six multi-element barriers in an instant.

The magical barriers created with the full power of these mages were like paper in the face of the destructive force. They seemed to be shattered instantly, only causing the destructive strike to pause for a moment.

The relentless attack continued, shattering another eight magical barriers into a multitude of coloured lights. It was only when it reached the 'Shield of Light' unleashed by Red Archbishop Kosse's divine weapon, the 'Revelation', that there was a terrifying explosion and the power of the strike was truly diminished.

"Deng, deng, deng!"

Red Archbishop Kosse, who had been concentrating his mental power to unleash the Light Shield, couldn't help but take three steps backwards before falling on his butt. His brain buzzed and he couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of blood.

"Lord Blount, hurry!" Kosse gasped as another wave of pain suddenly hit his brain.

"Crack" With the crisp sound of an egg cracking, the shield of light that Kosse had used shattered, and the ferocious blow continued on its downward path.

Sacred Knight Blount shouted loudly, raising the shining golden spike towards the sky. Holy aura erupted from Blount's body and merged with the golden spike in his hand, forming a golden light that shot towards Han Shuo's strike.

Rumbling...

Suddenly, a series of muffled thunderclaps could be heard from the clear sky as gold and red intertwined to form a spectacular sight. However, the terrifying energy transmitted by the two strikes erupted like a torrent, causing several spatial cracks to appear.

Blount let out a muffled groan as terrifying energy suddenly surged into his body. The golden armour on his body emitted a sweet-sounding jingling sound as he suddenly felt his internal organs being smashed by a giant hammer, causing him to stagger as blood gushed from his mouth and nose.

"Blount is injured! What a terrifying attack!" Karel shouted, his expression filled with inexplicable joy.

Through the crystal ball on Sabakas' hand, Lawrence and the others could see the situation clearly, especially the blood flowing from Blount's mouth and nose. Those with sharp eyes even noticed Blount's brief stagger.

In contrast to the battered and exhausted Blount, Han Shuo, who had just received the Demonslayer Edge in his palm, still had a malevolent appearance. His scarlet pupils were filled with madness, and his callous expression made him look like a machine made for massacre.

Apart from the constant heavy breathing, there was no change in Han Shuo's appearance. There was no sign of fatigue, only the bloody clouding and shrinking slightly, as if dispersed by the turbulent energy released during the battle.

"Crazy, Bryan is really crazy. He actually hurt the Sacred Knight of the Church of Light!" Cecilia, one of the three heavyweights of the Dark Mantle, had been silently watching the latest developments, but couldn't resist shouting in excitement.

Having spent years conducting missions in hostile lands, Cecilia was more familiar with the Sacred Knight's terrifying strength than anyone else. In the entire Profound Continent, the Sacred Knight of the Church of Light had always been the most formidable being. Cecilia, who had travelled through many lands, had heard many rumours about the Sacred Knights, and she knew how formidable these divinely blessed experts were.

However, it was an existence that despised the experts of various countries that was now being injured by a young man!

If this news were to spread, Han Shuo would immediately become a legend in the Profound Continent, easily topping the ranks of the continent's finest experts.

To Cecilia, Han Shuo's performance today could only be described as outrageous. It was also from that moment on that Cecilia completely abandoned any intention of competing with Han Shuo.

Even though she was Sabaka's granddaughter, even though she was one of the three heavyweights of the Dark Mantle, even though she had always believed that she was not inferior to any youngster.

However, Han Shou's stunning performance at that moment completely overturned her thoughts and made her realise how powerless she was to compete with Han Shuo.

"Because of this strike, Bryan's name will be spread all over the Profound Continent!" Space Sacred Magus Sabakas had a serene expression on his face as he made the definitive statement while looking at the unyielding Han Shuo in the crystal ball.

"Lord Blount, Lord Blount is injured!" Contrary to the surprise of Sabakas and the others, the followers of the Church of Light beside Blount were all filled with fear. These followers repeated the phrase over and over, as if Blount's injury meant that the mission had failed completely.

Their morale plummeted to its lowest in the wake of these constantly repeated words!

"Shut up. Those who are alive continue to erect magical barriers. The next attack wave is coming. You fools, if you want to live, start moving now!" The usually unflappable Blount suddenly seemed to lose control, unable to stop himself from shouting angrily.

The followers of the Church of Light had no time to think about Blount's change in tone at that moment, as the thick cloud of blood above their heads had begun to swirl wildly again.

It was clear in their hearts that this was the sign that the fiend above was moving!

"Cough, cough!" Red Archbishop Kosse coughed violently for a moment before he stood up trembling, the divine weapon 'Revelation' in his hand as he continued his incantation. He was the first to restore a magical barrier.

Kosse's heart was filled with bitterness. Even with his superior wisdom and knowledge, he couldn't understand how Han Shuo's strength had increased so dramatically in such a short time. Just a few days ago, Blount was able to seriously injure Han Shuo. However, the strength he displayed today could not be described as simply terrifying. Kosse, who had originally thought that victory over Ossen City was assured, now felt that not only was there no longer any certainty of success, but his heart was also filled with a terrifying sense of discouragement.

That fiend, I should have destroyed him the first time I met him! Kosse sighed with regret in his heart.

As Kosse began his incantation, the mages of the Church of Light who still had the strength to do so also continued their incantations for the sake of their own survival.

Han Shuo's terrifying speed when he flew over earlier had made them realise that if they didn't work as one, they simply wouldn't be able to escape Han Shuo, as his speed was faster than their levitation skills.

They didn't know if their magical barriers would be as useful as before, but in order to survive for a while longer, they had no choice but to do as Blount and Kosse ordered.

The facts proved them right.

Han Shuo's next strike came as expected, but its power was obviously much weaker than the previous one. However, it still tore through the barriers the mages had set up and once again knocked out Red Archbishop Kosse. Blount, defending in the same manner as before, was slammed directly into the ground amidst shimmering golden lights.

Although the magnitude of this strike was much weaker, its lethality was greater than the previous strike.

The previous unprecedented attack hadn't killed any of the Church of Light's followers because it had been blocked by the barriers and Blount.

However, although Han Shuo's second attack was weaker, the Church of Light's followers had been severely injured by the first attack, so the second set of barriers were not as strong and perfect as the first. As a result, Red Archbishop Kosse was knocked out and Blount's body was smashed to the ground.

In addition, over twenty Templar Knights and White Priests were instantly shattered by the bloody-red sword light.

As the second attack was much weaker, the preparation time for the next attack was much shorter. Before they could react, the bloody-red sword light no longer gathered, but wrapped around the thick cloud of blood, quickly followed by the weaker hammering, and before the men could react, a rain of blood formed, raining down, causing unceasing blood-curdling screams to be heard from below.

As each man fended for himself, a bloody-red light as thick as an arm suddenly pierced the unconscious Red Archbishop Kosse. The divine weapon 'Revelation' in his hand suddenly glowed brightly, and a merciless aura suddenly emanated from his body.

When the members of the Church of Light came to their senses, they noticed that Kosse was bleeding from his seven orifices and had lost all signs of life. The divine weapon 'Revelation', which he held in his hand, had also become dull and lustreless.
