Chapter 425 - CHAPTER 425: Han Shuo's Sudden Change

Han Shuo understood that it was because he had been too greedy. However, since things had come to this point, he didn't have a good solution.

As his mind was connected to the Demonslayer's Edge, the chaotic negative energy within the Demonslayer's Edge was spreading everywhere, gradually affecting Han Shuo's calm state of mind. An intention of slaughter unconsciously leapt into his mind. It was like a poison enhancer, causing Han Shuo's heartbeat to increase.

Not good! Han Shuo was alarmed.

This feeling had not appeared for a long time. Han Shuo knew that this was a sign of entering the Demonhood. Unfortunately, the Demonslayer Edge was still wildly absorbing the negative energy in Ossen City, while Han Shuo was absorbing the rising killing intent through the vortex. Both of these energies required Han Shuo's manipulation, and a mistake on one side would immediately affect the other.

Han Shuo's pupils gradually began to turn red. Bloody coloured light wrapped around his entire body and violent, sinister energy began to emanate from Han Shuo. Sabakas and Karel, who were both inside the castle, immediately felt the changes in Han Shuo.

"What's going on?" Karel was terrified as he looked towards the roof where Han Shuo was standing.

Bang, bang, bang!

Just as Karel finished speaking, crackling sounds came from the direction he was looking. Rays of scarlet light shot out, causing the pile of rocks that used to be houses in that area to shatter and disintegrate.

Sabakas stared blankly for two seconds, but soon teleported to the area where Han Shuo was sitting cross-legged. He saw that Han Shuo's expression was distorted with malevolence, looking extremely frightening. Strands of energy within the huge vortex above him formed rays of bloody-coloured light that flowed into Han Shuo's body like electric currents.

The sinister and merciless energy suddenly erupted from Han Shuo's body. With Han Shuo at the centre, the buildings surrounding him collapsed one by one with a loud bang. Some of the soldiers in the castle were caught off guard and were immediately affected by this awesome power. In an instant, nearly a hundred soldiers were killed.

Space Sacred Magus Sabaka's expression changed dramatically. Without saying a word, he hurriedly set up a defensive barrier, then concentrated his mental power and shouted loudly at Han Shuo, "Bryan!

The pupils of Han Shuo, who was on the verge of falling into demonhood, had turned a terrifying scarlet colour. It was as if blood was flowing in his pupils, making him look extremely terrifying.

The loud scream that was produced by Sabaka's condensed mental power pierced Han Shuo's mind like a sharp needle. Han Shuo felt a slight headache and after a brief moment, his mind became clear.

Han Shuo's eyes spun rapidly for a while before he suddenly raised his head and roared towards the sky. A tremendous killing intent was mixed with the roar. As Sabakas was horrified beyond words, Han Shuo suddenly soared into the sky like a bolt of lightning and disappeared into the cloud of blood.

The terrifying roar resounded like thunder throughout the northern city district. Sensing the terrifying energy contained within the roar, many experts glanced towards the area where Han Shuo was, momentarily clueless as to what had happened.

"What happened?" Sacred Swordmaster Karel hastily asked the startled Sabakas as he was late to the scene and only saw a red flash shoot into the sky.

"I don't know, I have no idea!" Sabakas regained his senses, immediately shaking his head and answering frantically. He looked at the cloud of blood that was gathering and thickening and said, "I have a bad feeling, though. A moment ago, Bryan had looked somewhat terrifying. There's an extremely powerful energy in his body, so powerful that it made my heart beat faster.

Karel was shocked, knowing Sabakas' true strength. When he heard Sabakas say that he was terrified by the power Han Shuo had just revealed, Karel replied gravely, "I can sense a rising killing intent and evil in Bryan's roar. I think something is wrong."

"I'm worried too. A moment ago, his gaze was extremely callous and unfamiliar. It was completely different from the Bryan we usually see. I'm sure something we can't understand must have happened to his body. Sabakas also felt down as he replied to Karel.

Karel suddenly cried out in alarm, "Look! The cloud of blood in the sky is moving! Oh? It's actually moving towards Ashburn!"

"Guys, what's going on? What happened here?" Firenze had come over and asked calmly.

Amyes, Emily and a few others had come with Firenze. They had all heard the terrifying roar coming from here, filling their hearts with doubt and confusion, and had come to investigate.

Fanny and Pheobe, who had originally been on the second floor, had also stopped talking and rushed over in a panic. They had no idea why Han Shuo had let out such a terrifying roar, filling them with worry and panic.

Sabakas didn't answer Firenze's question, instead furrowing his brow as he gazed at the sky.

The Bloody Cloud had originally sat quietly in the sky above the castle, continuously absorbing negative energy from the entire northern district. It had grown in volume, but it hadn't moved.

But now, the thick bloody cloud had begun to move!

The migration of the bloody cloud caused the weather to change drastically. An oppressive pressure with the weight of a mountain came crashing down. An enormous evil aura gradually left the sky above the castle and headed towards the location of Ashburn and his allies.

"Emily, do you know what just happened?" Amyes furrowed his brow as he sought clarification from Emily.

Of all the people present, Emily was the most familiar with Han Shuo. As Amyes finished his question, everyone's eyes turned to Emily, all of them curious and confused.

"This should be what Han Shuo referred to as entering the Demonhood. He mentioned that this state would make him go mad and even he wouldn't be able to control his own actions. This terrifying state is extremely dangerous, but it will cause his strength to explode. I don't really understand it either, and that's all I've heard from him. Emily's brow furrowed as she explained.

As Emily explained, everyone saw the numerous houses that had collapsed and some of the castle guards who had died tragically, and immediately agreed with Emily's explanation. Even Sabakas and Karel didn't dare to rush towards Ashburn's location. However, Han Shuo had condensed a thick cloud of blood and headed straight for them. Such a crazy action was clearly something he wouldn't do in normal situations.

"Oh no! This means that Bryan is in great danger! This place is full of powerful experts, and he has even lost his mind. What should we do?" Karel said worriedly.

"Ai, we can only take one step at a time. We must constantly monitor his movements. If something really goes wrong, we have to find a way to save him!" Sabakas sighed and reluctantly replied.

As Sabakas spoke, a blue crystal ball the size of a human head materialised in his hand. He then chanted an incantation and the crystal ball suddenly shot out blue light. This blue light was like the ripples created when a stone is thrown into a lake, constantly swaying.

As Sabakas continued his incantation, the wavering blue light inside the crystal ball gradually calmed down. When Sabakas had finished his incantation, the crystal ball suddenly displayed a clear scene.

Inside the crystal ball, Han Shuo's entire body was covered in bloody-coloured light, and his pupils were scarlet red. The Demonslayer Edge floated above his head, and the surrounding layers of blood clouds churned as they moved towards Ashburn's location.

Sabakas moved his five fingers over the crystal ball, causing the image within to enlarge and change, revealing the appearances of Ashburn, the eldest Prince Charles and their allies. Among them were the Sacred Knight and the Earth Sacred Magus, Dempus, all of whom wore shocked expressions as they looked nervously at the cloud of blood coming towards them.

"This crystal ball was given to me by Madam Grace. Although it can't predict the future, it can show scenes within a certain area. However, we won't be able to hear any sound." Sabakas explained.

"Hmph. You obviously have something good, but you have been hiding it all along. What a selfish guy." Firenze remarked rudely.

Sabakas cleared his throat and smiled bitterly as he explained, "This crystal ball requires a lot of mental power to operate, has a very limited range and doesn't transmit sound. It's a far cry from Han Shuo's mystical powers. That's why I kept it hidden, not because I was selfish."

"Well, well, let's see if Bryan has any misfortune," Karel said impatiently to Firenze and turned his attention to the changing scenes in Sabakas' crystal ball.

While Sabakas and the others watched the changes in the crystal ball, some of the weaker nobles at Ashburn's side were in distress. The enormous pressure of the bloody cloud caused them to gasp for breath.

"Damn it, what the hell is happening? Why have red clouds suddenly appeared?" Eldest Prince Charles also felt his heart pound. The pressure was like a mountain pressing down on his body, making him feel all over. He couldn't help but curse as he looked up at the sky.

"Two esteemed Sacred rank experts, do you know what is happening?" Even though Ashburn was the Grand Duke of the Lancelot Empire, he didn't train in martial arts or magic. He felt the pressure even more keenly and actually had the urge to engage in some mad carnage. For Ashburn, who had to remain calm in all sorts of situations, this impulse was undoubtedly deadly. So he hastily asked the Sacred Knight and Dempus.

The two Sacred Rank experts had grave expressions as they stared at the bloody cloud in the sky. They could clearly sense that the bloody cloud was accumulating more and more energy. After absorbing the negative energy that contained the unrelenting anger and fear of countless thousands of soldiers killed on the battlefield, the energy within the bloody cloud was far beyond their imagination. This made the two Sacred Rank experts feel nervous.

"This is caused by that brat, Bryan. I can sense that he's inside the bloody cloud," Sacred Knight Blount said calmly as he looked at the sky.

"Is that him? Is that brat courting death? How dare he appear here!" Elder Prince Charles sneered.

In addition to two Sacred Rank Masters, there were numerous Great Swordsmaster and Grand Mages stationed here, along with a few thousand troops. Charles naturally believed that Han Shuo would definitely be killed.

However, both the frightened Knight Blount and Dempus could faintly sense the awesomeness of the energy accumulated within the bloody cloud. However, morale was extremely important at this moment. If Blount and Dempus were telling the truth, it would definitely cause the soldiers here to be filled with fear.

Blount and Dempus glanced at each other, and Dempus suddenly began chanting a spell to create a barrier for Ashburn and the others, to prevent them from being affected by the energy within the bloody cloud, to prevent them from feeling fear before the battle really began.

"Wind Magi, use tornadoes to sweep away the bloody cloud." Sacred Knight Blount ordered the magi beside him to act immediately.

As the bloody cloud grew larger and denser, Blount could clearly feel the energy coming from the negative energy condensed within the bloody cloud. Since Dempus was an earth magus, he was powerless against the bloody cloud in the sky. Only Wind Mages were able to unleash their power to the fullest.

At Blount's command, the wind magi on Ashburn's side began their incantations one by one.

The essence of wind suddenly became more dense, as tornadoes and hurricanes of varying sizes gradually formed and headed straight for the blood cloud that was about to reach them.

However, some things don't go as planned.

Unexpectedly, the layers of dense bloody cloud didn't disperse at all under the force of the various wind magic spells, and instead continued on their original trajectory towards the location above Ashburn and the others.

While the wind mages were stunned beyond words, a mage with sharp vision suddenly shouted in fear as he pointed at the bloody cloud, "Look! There's someone in the middle of the cloud!"

As the magus cried out in fear, the other sharp-eyed magi all turned their attention to the centre of the bloody cloud and saw an imposing figure covered in a blood-coloured light that swirled around his body like lightning, as if he had the ability to control the bloody cloud. Suddenly, the figure roared wildly as he pressed down like the bloody cloud.

Suddenly, a terrifying, evil energy the weight of a mountain enveloped the entire area. An overwhelming weapon wrapped around the thick cloud of blood before suddenly plummeting like a meteor, leaving a trail of red light behind it. The power within the rapidly descending weapon and the friction with the air produced a terrifying, sharp screech.

In a fraction of a second, the entire sky was bathed in red light. Blount and Dempus were both so terrified that their faces paled.

"Retreat!" Dempus shouted, grabbing Ashburn and the eldest Prince Charles in his hands and immediately using his levitation powers to hastily retreat into the distance.
