Han Shuo stood tall on the bald mountain and looked at the approaching temple knights without fear or anxiety. His mental strength and magical yuan had been restored somewhat. Although it would be difficult for him to win against the Temple Knights, it wouldn't be difficult if he wanted to leave quietly.
Han Shuo hadn't released the other two Yin Demons since 'Revelation' had destroyed one of them. So he didn't know that help from the Church of Calamity had appeared near Bald Mountain. He was about to leave when his consciousness felt another presence.
When Han Shuo's soul had formed a consciousness in the separate demon realm, his senses had become much more sensitive. When he'd sensed this sinister presence, a thought had struck him. The last time in the Valley of Sunshine, Edwin had said that the Church of Calamity would appear when Han Shuo needed them most. It seemed that Edwin hadn't lied.
Han Shuo had been standing on the mountain, but immediately soared up with a thought. He saw a Necromancer leading a group of Death Guards and Death Knights rushing over. The mountain had become riddled with potholes under the bombardment of the divine artefacts. Yet these Death Guards and Death Knights sprinted over it as if it were flat.
Within the thick layer of protection of the Temple Knights, Red Archbishop Kosse was pondering on a warhorse. He looked up at Han Shuo and did not know what to do.
These Temple Knights had extraordinary power and numbers, but it was a pity they didn't have flying magical beasts. They had no choice but to stare helplessly at Han Shuo high in the sky. Red Archbishop Kosse could use magic to fly, but he didn't dare go after him because of his serious injuries.
Helen Tina looked indecisively at Han Shuo from the back of her phoenix, her pretty face darkening calculatingly. She hesitated, not knowing if she should take this opportunity to go after Han Shuo.
If Helen Tina hadn't seen the great battle between Han Shuo and the Church of Light, she certainly wouldn't have hesitated to attack him right now and take back the six magic crystal cannons he had taken. Unfortunately, the battle that had just taken place in front of her eyes had given her a clear understanding of Han Shuo's terrifying power.
Pointing at Helen Tina, Han Shuo said with a mocking smile, "You still want the magic crystal cannons?"
At Han Shuo's scornful look, the originally hesitant Helen Tina couldn't suppress the anger that instantly ignited throughout her body. She pushed the fear of Han Shuo out of her heart. She patted the phoenix and dove towards him.
The Temple Knights stood on one side of the mountain valley and Han Shuo could clearly see that the reinforcements from the Church of Calamity were also arriving in the mountain valley. A malicious thought suddenly struck Han Shuo. He immediately chanted an incantation to send the little skeleton, the Earth Elite Zombie, and the Wood Elite Zombie back to the foreign realm, before flying out of the valley with a long laugh.
"Damn it. He's leaving just like that!" The leading necromancer of the Calamity Church stopped when he saw Han Shuo flying away from the mountain.
"It's the Calamity Church, they must be with that heretic!" The Temple Knights had just spotted the Calamity Church people climbing up from the bottom of the mountain. The feud between the two had gone on for hundreds of years. The accumulated hatred between the two sides was definitely greater than the one building for Han Shuo.
Therefore, the Temple Knights of the Church of Light had almost no hesitation when they heard this call. They began to attack the forces of the Church of Calamity as soon as they appeared. As soon as the battle broke out, both sides slaughtered each other until their eyes were filled with blood. Each side prayed to their respective gods as the battle raged on.
The necromancer leading the group from the Church of Calamity had intended to rescue Han Shuo from the Church of Light and thus get closer to him. Unfortunately, his calculations had gone wrong. Han Shuo had quickly left this chaotic land with the speed of the Demonic Ninth Heaven Art, leaving behind a group of sworn enemies to fight each other.
"This despicable fellow is even more despicable than us!" The Necromancer grumbled. It was unknown whether he was praising Han Shuo or cursing him. Either way, after he finished uttering those words, he immediately focused on directing the Death Guards to fight the Temple Knights.
"Shameless necromancer, return my magic crystal cannons!" Helen Tina rode the wind on the back of her phoenix and chased after Han Shuo, her soft lips screaming incessantly.
Han Shuo used the speedy art of the Demonic Ninth Heaven to quickly leave the area and land in a lush mountain valley. Now that he was out of reach of Kosse's 'Revelation' artefact, Han Shuo immediately released the remaining two Yin Demons. Although the Yin Demons appeared to be flying disorderly, they were actually able to follow Helen Tina's every move.
Arriving at the mountain valley, Helen Tina finally saw Han Shuo come to a halt, with the little skeleton of the strange undead creature appearing next to him. Anger overwhelming her rational thought, Helen Tina ordered the phoenix to shoot straight at Han Shuo. The phoenix made a melodic sound before spewing out a blazing hot flame.
Helen Tina waved her magic staff embedded with fire stones. Bowl-sized fireballs appeared one after the other and rained down on Han Shuo and the little skeleton.
The little skeleton grabbed the three metre long knife and struck the undead creature he was riding with the handle. The undead creature opened a huge mouth full of sharp fangs and howled at the sky. Green glowing wraiths floated out of its mouth, their green glow shimmering as they brought with them the thick presence of death from the other dimension. The wraiths began to madly absorb the deadly air surrounding the mountain valley as soon as they appeared in this world.
The bodies of the wraiths had originally appeared with barely a glimmer of light. Their bodies slowly expanded and condensed into the appearance of a green liquid under the pressure coming from the undead creature's mouth. They rammed violently into the densely packed fireballs.
The wraiths had absorbed energy from dead souls and were swelling rapidly until they couldn't hold their shape. They exploded in mid-air, their deadly air filling the sky with a grey-green mist. Ice cold breaths struck the pack of fireballs, slowly extinguishing the brilliant light of the fireballs.
As the light from the fireballs faded, the little skeleton urged his huge undead mount to charge towards Helen Tina.
Undead creatures had a natural hatred for the light of fire. But despite his hatred, the little skeleton's gleaming bones were highly resistant to fire magic. He wasn't really afraid of fire. As soon as the deadly air had destroyed the dense fireballs, the little skeleton held his long blade and charged furiously towards Helen Tina as Han Shuo had commanded.
As the little skeleton approached, Helen Tina's phoenix emitted a massive flame, the high temperature causing every green plant around the mountain valley to wither and die. Only a few towering old trees held on thanks to their strong roots.
At this time, the Demonslayer's Edge howled as it streaked across the sky with the speed of a meteor crossing the horizon, dragging a long purple tail behind it. It immediately arrived at the side of Helen Tina and the Fire Phoenix before circling upwards. Purple, dancing spellfire suddenly appeared like a star and rained down on the Fire Phoenix's flaming body.
The Fire Phoenix suddenly let out a piercing scream. The super-ranked magical creature then opened its beak and spoke in human language, its girlish, sweet voice sounding, "What is this? It's so cold."
A bone-chilling chill spread as the purple spellfire descended. Sizzling sounds crackled all over the fire phoenix's body as it suddenly felt its steel bones stiffen and the flapping of its wings grow heavier. The phoenix lost altitude and began to slowly fall into the depths of the mountain valley with Helen Tina on it.
"Big Sister Fire Phoenix, what's wrong?" Helen Tina cried in a panic.
"I don't know, my body feels really uncomfortable!" The Phoenix also cried out, not knowing what to do or how to stop the descent. She was also very afraid of this unknown cold invading her body.
The two female creatures fell, about to hit the ground, when the branches of the nearby towering old trees suddenly twisted tightly around them like the tentacles of an octopus, not letting them move an inch.
"
"Damn necromancer, how are you able to use the druids' natural abilities?" The phoenix's crisp, clear voice kept complaining after she was tied to the branches.
Helen Tina struggled with the fire stone embedded staff in her hand. She tried to cast a fire magic spell. At that moment, a vicious, long, sharp knife kissed her white, slender neck.
Helen Tina lifted her head to see the strange little skeleton. The seven wing bones behind its back fluttered gently. The length of his body and the long knife in his hand were out of all proportion. An eyeball glittering with purple light stared straight at Helen Tina, making every hair on her body stand on end.
"What do you want?" Helen Tina coldly looked down at Han Shuo below and asked vengefully. Someone like her, who'd gone through the baptism of blood and fire to reach her current position, actually restored her calm demeanour at a time like this.
