Despite his injuries, Trunks still fled at a fast pace. A few old, broken tree roots and a thick overgrowth of shrubs seemed to have no effect on him.
It was just that the injured Trunks was unable to use his maximum speed, while Han Shuo was in top condition, using the surveillance of the original demons to follow Trunks like a tight burr on his back. The distance between the two of them was closing.
The arrow in his backside had long since been pulled out when Trunks started to run. He'd planned to bandage his wounds first, but when he spotted Han Shuo's pursuit, he had to give up on cleaning his wounds out of resignation and flee recklessly, whether his injury was still bleeding or not.
And so they continued the chase for more than ten minutes. Trunks' stamina was amazing as he gritted his teeth and kept running. Every time Han Shuo appeared in his vision, he tapped into his potential and unleashed another burst of speed in an attempt to shake Han Shuo off.
It was a pity that Han Shuo's originally weak personality had long since been trained to the peak of strength after being baptised by pain. Apart from the fact that Han Shuo's stubbornness was beyond Trunk's imagination, his speed never slowed down during the entire chase, and in fact, he seemed to be getting addicted to the chase and enjoying it more and more.
Although Trunks was extremely familiar with the surrounding terrain, with one of Han Shuo's original demons hanging around him, it was as if a pair of hawk's eyes were circling around him, watching everything. No matter what Trunks did, he was still unable to shake Han Shuo, simply because of his familiarity with the terrain.
Finally, after half a day of chasing and running, Trunks began to realise that he couldn't go on like this with his blood loss. He was unable to shake off Han Shuo, and with the increasing speed of his blood circulation combined with the inability to treat his body's injuries in time, Trunks suffered a brief spell of dizziness.
He leaned against a tree trunk and stopped, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth and panting as he watched Han Shuo approach at a slower pace. He huffed as he said, "So it's only you who's been following me. I think you're looking for death."
With two gasps, Han Shuo's wildly beating heart from sprinting during the chase slowly calmed down. He was already holding the Demonslayer Edge in his hand, and the expression on his face was neither joyful nor tragic. He stared at Trunks coldly and was in no hurry to approach him. He slowed his pace considerably.
Han Shuo knew that Trunks was badly injured, but as injured as a swordmaster was, he was still an extremely dangerous being. A deadly attack could come if he let his guard down. It was precisely because Han Shuo couldn't be sure how serious Trunks' injuries were. That was why he didn't really dare to make a move now that his prey had stopped.
"If you weren't injured, I wouldn't have a chance to face you alone, but with the current situation, we'll have to see if you still have the ability to do anything to me." Han Shuo suddenly stopped about fifteen metres away from Trunks, his eyes sweeping over Trunks' body as he opened his mouth to speak softly.
After speaking, Han Shuo took out the crossbow again, loaded it with a crossbow bolt, and then aimed it at Trunks to test Trunks' current body condition.
"Do you dare to test me only from a distance? If you have the same amount of courage you showed last time, you would rush at me without hesitation." Trunks leaned his back against the tree and watched Han Shuo's movements with cold eyes as he spoke contemptuously.
"Do you take me for a fool or are you the fool? You should know that our identities have been reversed. You are now the prey and I am the hunter. I control how the game is played. Han Shuo was completely unperturbed by Trunks' mockery as he fired the bolt decisively after taking aim with the crossbow.
The tip of the bolt gleamed with a slightly cold light in the dusk of the evening sky. A sharp whistle rang through the air as the bolt shot like electricity towards Trunk's chest.
Trunk's expression showed nothing out of the ordinary as his body flew out almost at the same time as the sound whistled through the air. The crossbow bolt nailed into the large tree that Trunks had just been leaning against. Having dodged the blow, Trunks' body soared through the air for a few metres as he skilfully crossed a distance of fifteen metres and landed in front of Han Shuo, his speed far beyond Han Shuo's imagination.
A milky white combat aura filled Han Shuo's vision in an instant, as if he was at the centre of a tornado. Han Shuo's body was surrounded by milky-white combat aura as his muscles instantly tensed. It seemed incredibly difficult to make even the slightest movement and he could only watch as he drowned in the combat aura.
His body was unable to move, but the magical yuan within his body was flowing freely, unhindered. Han Shuo's mind and heart were one as the Demonslayer Edge flew out of his palm and suddenly danced in the air around Han Shuo's body. The air around Han Shuo's body was suffused with the light that blossomed from the Demonslayer's Edge in the blink of an eye.
A violent sound of metal clashing rang out around Han Shuo, accompanied by Trunks' angry cries of disbelief. Just as Han Shuo's eardrums were about to go deaf, all the ear-splitting metallic sounds disappeared completely, and the previously immobile Han Shuo finally returned to normal.
"Impossible, this is impossible! How can your weapon still defend against my Restrained Dragon Slash? Who are you?" Han Shuo immediately heard Trunks' shocked screams as soon as his body returned to normal.
Concentrating his gaze, Han Shuo suddenly discovered that the broadsword Trunks had been wielding all along had suddenly shattered with many cracks. Trunks' eyes kept darting back and forth between the broadsword and Han Shuo, a look of disbelief and disbelief on his face as he kept repeating, "This is impossible!"
Han Shuo's shirt had been torn to shreds all over and was now hanging from him like a rag. Many long superficial cuts had appeared on his muscles, revealing the red blood and flesh inside. The Demonslayer's blade seemed to have been tossed away as it lay motionless in the distance, but there were no dents or marks on it.
"Nothing is impossible!" Han Shuo suddenly roared and lunged forward with a sudden punch, taking advantage of Trunks' abnormal mental state.
It wasn't until the blow had found its way to Trunks' face that he was able to react, raising the now rigid broadsword to block Han Shuo's blow.
Dong rang out crisply as Han Shuo's right hand went numb, but Trunks' body staggered backwards. Joy flashed through Han Shuo's mind as he knew that the Dragon Slash he had just blocked had taken away most of Trunks' combat aura. As a result, he immediately stepped up to Trunks and began to unleash a mad barrage of kicks and punches.
Known in the Dark Forest as a character not to be taken lightly, Trunks had now become the weaker side after being badly injured. He kept retreating under Han Shuo's barrage of attacks until he finally fell backwards, stiff as a board.
"Wait!" Just as Han Shuo had grabbed the Demonslayer's Edge again and was about to end Trunks' life, he suddenly opened his mouth to stop Han Shuo and looked at him, "No matter what you've come to the Dark Forest for, I can help you! We don't actually have any irreconcilable differences between us, just the matter of the twin-headed dragon. That wasn't really that valuable."
Han Shuo thought carefully after Trunks had spoken and realised that this was the case. Han Shuo had made his moves earlier because he didn't want to be threatened by others. Now that he wanted to kill Trunks, it was because he wanted to prevent Trunks from taking revenge. To be honest, he didn't really have a deep hatred for Trunks.
He walked in front of Trunks and suddenly slashed down four times with the Demonslayer Edge. After a round of Trunks screaming like a pig being slaughtered, he coolly put the Demonslayer Edge away.
The Demonslayer Edge slashed down four times, slicing through the veins in both of Trunks' hands and feet. It wasn't enough to cause fatal damage, but it wouldn't affect Trunks' future training and strength either, but he wouldn't be a threat to Han Shuo in the short term.
"I'm sorry, I think this is a better insurance because you're a more than dangerous person." Han Shuo shrugged and said naturally, Then, after a pause, he smiled slightly at the grimacing Trunks, "I think we can have a good discussion now, will you be able to help me if I don't kill you?"
"Oh... it seems that another cruel hunter has appeared in the Dark Forest. Haha!" He groaned in pain and then burst out in a nervous laugh, with absolutely no strength in his body. Except that his current bedraggled state was offset by his burnt hair, and his expression was an indescribable kind of ugly.
"Behave yourself if you want to live. Tell me what you can do to help me." Han Shuo asked with a slight smile as he looked at Trunks.
"Then the first thing I must ask is your purpose in coming to the Dark Forest. Why did you come?" Trunks' expression showed no sign of panic. Although he was still emitting cries of pain, his expression was quite calm.
At first, Han Shuo felt that there was no need to hide anything and spoke directly, "I am here for the Fruit of Dagmar. Can you help me get it?"
"I have been in the Dark Forest for many years and have heard all kinds of legends. I know a bit about where the Fruit of Dagmar is, and I can take you there, but I'm not sure I can get the Fruit of Dagmar. If you let me go this time, I can promise to help you with all my might and won't pursue this matter in the future. If you've heard of my reputation, then you should know that I never go back on my promises!" Trunks looked at Han Shuo as he solemnly promised.
"Deal!" Han Shuo nodded and replied quite firmly.
