Chapter 75 - Chapter 74: The Little Skeleton Who Wants to Soar and Fly

The first rays of dawn appeared in the sky after he used the transport matrix to return to the Cemetery of Death.

A full day and night had passed since his departure, and he hastened to the Original Demon Cave to infuse more fresh blood and magical yuan, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

The Primordial Demon Cave must not stop operating for even one day. If fresh blood and magical yuan weren't infused every day, the work of the past twenty-some odd days would be in vain.

With his butt firmly planted on the ground, the martial aura that had entered his body from Darnell's blow finally began to slowly rush through his body. A sudden impact brought a rush of blood to Han Shuo's throat - he almost spat out another mouthful of fresh blood.

Happy instead of frightened, he abruptly stood up and threw his head back in laughter. He quickly strode out of the cemetery, towards the waterfall he had used to train his magic. Han Shuo braved the long, rushing river and sat down in his usual spot. His body wobbled heavily in the beginning, but Han Shuo quickly sank back into his training mode.

For the next seven days, except for periodically infusing the Original Demon Cave with fresh blood and magical yuan, Han Shuo stayed under the waterfall to train his magic.

Han Shuo's strength improved greatly in the midst of the rigorous training. Using the combat aura that Darnell had left in his body and the violent force of the waterfall, Han Shuo reforged the meridians and bones of his chest, waist and stomach. When Han Shuo felt that Darnell's combat aura was no longer within him, he could clearly feel that his own body was in an unprecedentedly better state.

For the next few days, Han Shuo stopped all magical training and spent his time tending to the 'Original Demon Cave' and studying the 'Beginner's Magics of Necromancy'. He was now fully capable of reciting the latter from memory, and had basically committed it to memory.

Han Shuo had noted down the parts he didn't understand. As he continued to meditate with the round green ball, his mental strength grew with each passing day. Under his constant experimentation, one day he finally unleashed the 'Agony of the Soul' magic. Han Shuo was overjoyed and elated. He understood that with the accumulation of several months and his greatly increased mental strength, he had finally graduated from the ranks of magician apprentice to novice magician.

A novice mage in necromancy could grasp the three magics of Agony of the Soul, Summoning Zombies, and Bone Spears. However, after trying for a long time, Han Shuo had only accidentally cast Agony of the Soul. He was unable to release the other two magics of Summoning Zombies and Bone Spears no matter how hard he tried.

He linked this fact to the fact that he could not understand many parts of the 'Beginner's Magic of Necromancy'. Han Shuo understood that just reading books was neither the fastest nor the best way to increase his knowledge of magic. It looked like he should find Fanny and inquire about the areas he didn't understand, as well as pick up the weapon forging materials Phoebe had promised him, along with the black gold ore.

But before he returned, Han Shuo wanted to finish refining the 'Original Demon'. The Original Demon Cave had been in operation for a full 34 days and would be completed in two more days. Han Shuo was in no hurry to leave right away, so he went to the dwarves' village to socialise with them.

He returned to the mining cave and mined for the entire day, producing a small piece of black iron ore and a few pieces of iron and copper ore.

Han Shuo learned from Phoebe that black iron ore was a very rare and valuable ore. He could often only get a very small piece after mining for a whole day. Therefore, he stored the black iron ore directly in his space ring. When he returned to the Cemetery after that, he threw all the iron and bronze ores into a space storage room in the great hall.

"Haha, this is really interesting. With these three 'primordial demons', I have three extra pairs of eyes. If I release them, I will no longer be afraid of being followed and ambushed. If I use the three Primordial Demons to assassinate others, it will be an absolute nightmare for my enemies!" Han Shuo laughed wildly as he repeatedly used his will to release and retract the 'Primordial Demons' into and out of his body, practising tirelessly.

At that moment, the small skeleton that had been lying in the 'Primordial Demon Cave' all along suddenly stood up and slowly climbed out of the pit. The seven bone spurs on its back actually began to flap furiously as its body shot up into the sky with a strong thrust from its legs.

The seven bone spurs on its back were divided into two rows like the wings of an insect, with the remaining one pointing down like a tail. As he shot into the air, he swayed, the two rows of bone spurs whirring furiously and his tail wagging incessantly. It seemed to be the steering wheel of a bicycle, helping it to move nimbly through the thin air.

When the tail-like bone spur moved to the left, the little skeleton's body also moved to the left. If the bone spur moved to the right, the little skeleton's body would fall to the right. It looked quite amazing!

Han Shuo was stunned as he watched the little skeleton descend in a wobbly fall, his face full of shock. He didn't know how to react at that moment.

After a while, the little skeleton fell out of the air with a crash as the bones of its body made a long series of creaking noises. The little skeleton seemed to be dazed from the fall as it staggered around in circles after picking itself up and raised the bone dagger as if it were drunk.

"Damn brat, you've only been learning to walk for a few days and now you want to fly?" Han Shuo felt a deep pain in his heart as he looked at the little skeleton's current state. He hastily walked over to the little skeleton and tapped on the little skeleton's shiny, smooth forehead.

An interesting thing happened! When Han Shuo tapped it with his finger, the little skeleton immediately stopped its drunken staggering and sat down firmly like a child. It even reached out a finger to scratch its head, seemingly unable to comprehend what it had done wrong.

Han Shuo had taken great care to protect the little skeleton ever since it was first summoned by Han Shuo. Under the constant refinement of his Magical Yuan, it had begun to display human-like behaviour. Han Shuo's feelings for the little skeleton were far greater than those he felt for anyone else in this world. He was worried to death when he saw it fall from high in the air.

Han Shuo breathed a sigh of relief when he saw with his own eyes that the little skeleton hadn't been shattered, that it had only been shaken by the fall and that nothing else had happened to it.

Looking at it carefully, he suddenly realised that in the inky blackness of the little skeleton's originally dark bones, there were a few spots of dark red. It was no longer that pure, deep black. If it hadn't been for his cautious gaze, he would have had a hard time spotting them.

"Eh, this is strange. The 'Primordial Demon Cave' was originally meant to refine a small demon General . He deliberately wriggled into the cave, even showing an expression of leisurely enjoyment. His body had undergone some changes as soon as he left the pit, and he even wanted to imitate those demon generals in my body and fly. Looks like that brat has changed again. I wonder if these changes are for the better or for the worse. Even I don't know what this brat is now." Han Shuo stared carefully at the little skeleton and muttered to himself.

After a round of deep thought, in which Han Shuo realised that he couldn't understand the little skeleton's changes, he shook his head and thought no more. Looking at the now normal 'Original Demon Cave' since the 'Original Demon' General had emerged from it, Han Shuo began an incantation and sent the little skeleton back to the other dimension.

With his injuries healed, the three 'Original Demons' refined, and even the little skeleton regaining its mobility, Han Shuo travelled back to Ossen City through the Transport Matrix, thinking of the incomprehensible magical knowledge and black gold ore Phoebe owed him for his services.
